Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 26: Confiscation
She glared fiercely at Moira Young, then turned and left.
Carter Porter escorted Moira Young to her seat in the exam hall before heading to his own.
Unexpectedly, Thea Thorne was also in the same exam hall, seated a few rows behind Moira Young.
During the exam, for some reason, Thea Thorne suddenly raised her hand, called the teacher over, whispered a few words, and pointed at Moira Young.
The invigilator immediately walked over to Moira Young, "Come with me for a moment."
Moira Young was in the middle of answering questions. She looked at her paper, with a portion still unfinished, and the exam time was almost over, so she hesitated.
Seeing her unmoving, the teacher immediately became stern, "Hurry up."
She had no choice but to put down her pen and follow him out.
"Necklace, bracelet, take them off, confiscate them." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"Why?" Moira Young was puzzled. She hadn’t cheated.
"Student, college entrance exams are very strict—you can’t bring anything in that could be used to cheat. Take them off, and I’ll have them checked. If there’s anything unusual, it counts as cheating."
Moira Young hadn’t expected that a simple necklace would be suspected of cheating. Reluctantly, she handed over her necklace and bracelet to the invigilator.
"Can I get them back after the exam?" Moira Young asked.
"Ring ring ring—the exam has ended."
Moira Young panicked; her exam paper was still unfinished! How could this have happened!
She looked pleadingly at the invigilator, her eyes glistening with tears, "Teacher, could you give me a few extra minutes? Please..."
The invigilator ignored her and began collecting papers.
She quickly sat down, taking advantage of the time before they reached her, to write a few more words.
"Serves you right!" Thea Thorne gloated from behind, "Everyone’s model student—let’s see how you face not getting into Arden University!"
Moira Young frowned, writing quickly, but was interrupted as the invigilator abruptly snatched away her paper, making a long mark across it.
"Teacher, make sure to thoroughly check that necklace. This kind of thing happened last year too!" Thea Thorne said ingratiatingly to the invigilator.
Moira Young clenched her fists, trying to endure.
If Thea Thorne said one more word, she would not be polite.
"Just because you have a pretty face, you think everyone likes you," Thea Thorne mocked, starting to pack up her things.
Moira Young couldn’t understand why she was deliberately disrupting her exam yet still so self-righteous.
Expressionless, she picked up a Coke from a nearby classmate’s desk, shook it hard, and with her swollen ankle, walked over to Thea Thorne, opening it right in front of her face. The Coke sprayed straight into Thea Thorne’s face from the fizz.
"Moira Young, what’s your problem!" Thea Thorne instinctively stood up and stepped back, but her face, hair, and clothes were already dirty.
"I’ve never provoked you, yet you target me at every turn. Fine with other little things, but you chose to stir trouble during the exam."
Moira Young stood there, her tone cold.
"Thea Thorne, sometimes, it’s better not to push your luck."
With that, she turned around.
Thea Thorne didn’t even listen to what Moira Young was saying, took out a tissue, and wiped it furiously. The more she wiped, the angrier she got. Just then, she noticed Moira Young’s swollen ankle and immediately perked up.
She deliberately ran fast, dashed past Moira Young, and slammed her shoulder hard.
The impact threw Moira Young off balance, causing her to fall to the ground, her right ankle taking another blow!
It really... hurt so much!
Thea Thorne snorted and ran out without looking back.
Moira Young’s ankle throbbed with searing pain. She supported herself against the wall and slowly moved, until Carter Porter eventually helped her out.
Just as they walked out of the school gates, they saw Uncle’s car parked not far away.
"Uncle!" Moira Young saw Uncle getting out of the car and burst into tears immediately.
Julian Sinclair, with his tall and commanding presence, was particularly striking in the sunlight. His impeccable features seemed to be steeped in frost; even the blistering sun could not melt the coldness in his bones.
Seeing Moira Young’s condition, Julian Sinclair immediately frowned, strode forward, and without hesitation, lifted her into his arms.
"Uncle... it hurts so much..." Moira Young’s voice became sweetly soft as she nestled in Julian Sinclair’s embrace.
Carter Porter stood frozen on the spot, never imagining that Moira Young could act so playfully...
He glanced at the hand that had been supporting Moira Young earlier, awkwardly drew it back, and quietly turned to leave.
