Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 17: Acting
Inside the Sinclair residence.
A soulless performance concluded just like that.
Sylvia Lopez put on her shirt; Julian Sinclair hadn’t really touched her.
"Julian, won’t you hurt her this way?" Sylvia had seen a lot over time and saw through it. Julian had called her over, left the door ajar, and deliberately made her call out when footsteps were heard outside—wasn’t it all for Moira Young to see?
Julian didn’t speak, but his cold and distant glance was enough to silence Sylvia.
"Julian, Miss just ran out crying a while ago without an umbrella. It’s been a while, and she hasn’t come back. She’s most afraid of rainy days; who knows where she’s gone!" Mrs. Miller hurriedly ran upstairs, not daring to approach Julian’s bedroom, and could only speak from the staircase.
Julian’s heart suddenly tightened—damn it! Worry flickered in his eyes, which Sylvia caught before he could hide it.
"Julian, should I go with you to find her?"
"No need, I’ll have someone send you back." Julian put on his clothes and walked out of the bedroom; he vaguely felt that something might happen to Moira Young.
Mrs. Miller’s shout echoed, and almost everyone knew Moira had run out. People were flustered because whenever anything concerning Moira happened, Julian would uncharacteristically show his anger, affecting many others.
"Get the car ready!" Julian took the coat from Mrs. Miller’s hand, suddenly remembering that Moira had been wearing a nightgown. What would happen if she got cold in the heavy rain!
The more Julian thought about it, the more he regretted it. He had calculated everything but overlooked Moira’s character!
Moira Young walked on the street, her stomach aching from her period, and having been in the rain for a long time, her face was deathly pale.
Her white nightgown was filthy, and she felt cold and miserable.
Suddenly! A black dog burst out of the nearby bushes and crashed into Moira’s leg! The unexpected fright made her cover her mouth, her eyes wide with terror slowly engulfing her.
"Woof!" The black dog displayed its fierce fangs and barked a few times at Moira.
Tears instantly streamed down Moira’s face; she dared not move, terrified the dog would rush over and bite her. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
"Moira Young?" Suddenly, someone called her name. A car stopped on the other side of the road, and the back window rolled down—it was Carter Porter.
Moira cast a pleading look at him, and without a word, Carter got out, rushed over, and scared the vicious dog away with a stone.
"It’s okay, don’t be afraid." In his haste, Carter had forgotten to bring an umbrella. Seeing Moira soaked to the bone, he took off his coat and draped it over her.
"What happened to you? Are you okay? Get in the car first; the rain is quite heavy."
Moira shook her head weakly, "Thank you, I’m fine, you should head back."
"Carter, why aren’t you getting in the car?" A woman’s voice came from inside the car—it was Carter’s mom.
Carter’s mom, holding an umbrella, got out. Seeing Moira, her maternal instincts overflowed with concern, "Why is this child so drenched? Come, get in the car; Auntie will take you to change into dry clothes."
Moira didn’t know how to refuse, so she reluctantly got in the car.
"Child, are you in the same class as Carter?" Carter’s mom let Moira take the back seat, while she sat in front. She peeked through the rearview mirror and found this child to be quite beautiful and endearing.
"Oh, Mom, stop asking everything—" Carter hadn’t finished speaking when the car suddenly braked hard.
"Madam, that car seems to be doing this on purpose." The driver was a bit stunned. It was his first time encountering someone blatantly blocking their way—a car stopped horizontally in front of theirs.
Moira turned to look, her body somewhat numb. She was very familiar with that car; it belonged to the Sinclair family.
Julian Sinclair didn’t appear; it was Mr. Liu who got out and walked over, tapping on the car window where Moira sat.
Everyone inside looked at Moira. She bit her lower lip, tears falling from her sense of grievance. Even so, she refused to roll the window down.
"Moira Young, who is he to you?" Carter asked.
"I don’t know him." Moira was determined not to get off the car. No matter what, she wouldn’t return to the Sinclair family.
The driver understood the identity of the car ahead, knowing they weren’t to be trifled with. He discreetly unlocked the car door, and Mr. Liu immediately tried to open it, but Moira held on tightly.
"Miss, please come back with me!" Mr. Liu’s strength was undoubtedly greater than Moira’s, but fearing he might hurt her, he didn’t use force.
"I’m not going back!"
Inside the car, Julian saw that Mr. Liu was unable to succeed. His frustration increased, and his eyes showed a trace of impatience.
In the end, he got out of the car himself. His formidable presence pressured Moira, his expression stern as he unhesitatingly opened the car door, leaned in, and carried Moira out without a word, straight back to his car.
"Moira Young!" Carter wanted to jump out, but Mr. Liu blocked him.
