Sweet Time Only for You: The Entanglement between Mr. Lu and Miss Song-Chapter 166: Feeding Her Medicine
He should have sent her back to her room, but when he reached the door, he changed his mind and carried her to his own bedroom.
She was in a deep sleep and didn’t notice anything.
When her back touched the soft mattress, she instinctively curled up and nestled deeper into the bed like a little kitten.
Lu Jihan’s lips curved into a slight smile.
Then, he covered her with a blanket.
He turned and went to the bathroom, took a hot shower, and as he was drying his hair with a towel, he vaguely heard the sound of a woman murmuring from the bed.
Walking over to take a look, he found the woman on the bed furrowing her brow.
Somehow, the blanket had been kicked off, and she kept tossing and turning, with a pained expression on her face.
"What’s this woman doing?"
Lu Jihan muttered, approaching to feel her forehead.
Upon touching it, he discovered she had a mild fever.
Damn it! Why did she have to get a fever now?
He cursed softly, but he couldn’t just leave her be.
He rushed downstairs to the kitchen, fetched a bottle of Maotai, twisted off the cap, and supported her delicate and boneless body, aligning the bottle’s spout with her small lips.
Alcohol can warm the body and has antiseptic properties.
He worried that her fever might be due to an infected wound.
"Drink it quickly," he ordered sternly, frowning.
However, in her semi-conscious state, she instinctively refused anything approaching her. As the cold liquor touched her lips, it trickled down the corners of her mouth.
Since she wouldn’t drink, he had no choice but to feed her.
Lu Jihan took a swig from the bottle, then lifted her chin, leaned down, and delivered the liquor from his mouth into hers...
But she still resisted, resulting in her choking, and Song Yinyin began to cough violently.
"Cough, cough, cough!"
She frowned, trying to spit out what was in her mouth.
Lu Jihan wouldn’t let her spit out the liquor, forcibly making her swallow it. Whenever she tried to open her mouth, he covered it with his hand.
"Cough, cough, cough—" She accidentally inhaled some, continuing to cough, her cheeks flushed a deeper shade of red.
And her body trembled incessantly.
Instinctively, she wrapped her arms around herself, muttering incoherently.
Lu Jihan leaned down, close to her lips, and faintly heard her saying, "Mom... Mommy... I’m cold..."
It seemed she was dreaming, probably about her mother.
Feeling a twinge of compassion, Lu Jihan instinctively embraced her, holding her tighter against him, using his body heat to warm her.
Sometimes, he gently stroked her back with his large palm, sometimes coaxing her softly, "It’s okay now, I’m here, it’s okay..."
Whether she truly heard him or not, her troubled expression gradually eased, her furrowed brow relaxed, and her limbs softened somewhat.
Unassured, Lu Jihan soaked a towel, wiping her hands, limbs, soles, and back...
Slowly, her abnormal flush receded.
She grew increasingly relaxed, eyes half-closed, breathing heavily in her troubled breaths, snuggling softly in Lu Jihan’s arms.
Perhaps this position was very comfortable, his body very warm; she instinctively clung to him, seeking his warmth...
If it weren’t for her pitiful state and her injured hand, Lu Jihan would have found it hard to hold back...
Yet Song Yinyin slept restlessly, frequently shifting positions or nudging him, taking liberties with his body in the night...
Thus, Lu Jihan was tormented until five in the morning before finally falling into a fitful slumber.
