Suryaputra Karna: 10 Million Dharma Critical hits-Chapter 3 - 2: The Son of the River and the Charioteer
The Son of the River and the Charioteer
The night slowly faded.
A soft crimson light spread across the eastern sky as dawn approached. Birds began to stir in the forests along the sacred river.
The waters of the holy river flowed peacefully, carrying with them countless stories of kings, sages, and forgotten ages.
Upon its gentle current drifted a small wooden basket.
Inside it slept a newborn child.
Golden armor rested naturally upon his tiny chest.
Divine earrings shone softly beside his ears.
This was no ordinary child.
He was the son of the Sun.
He was the child who had drunk the milk of the River Goddess.
The basket floated quietly across the sacred waters of Ganga.
Yet the goddess herself had not fully departed.
A figure of flowing sapphire light stood upon the river’s surface, watching the drifting basket.
Mother Ganga.
Her eyes were filled with gentle affection.
She held the infant once more in her arms before sending him away.
"My child..." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Her voice was soft like flowing water.
"The world is not ready to know who you are."
The baby slept peacefully, unaware of the divine gaze protecting him.
Ganga looked at his small face for a long moment.
Then she placed her palm gently upon his chest.
A glowing symbol formed where her hand touched.
It looked like a flowing river intertwined with a blazing sun.
A mark of protection.
A mark of fate.
Inside Karna’s mind, the familiar voice of the system echoed.
System notification.
Divine Maternal Mark detected.
Dharma Critical Hit Multiplier activated.
Ten million times.
New ability obtained.
Ganga’s River Soul Seal.
Water affinity greatly increased.
Sacred rivers will nurture and protect the host.
In holy waters, regeneration speed will dramatically increase.
Maternal Fate Protection activated.
Even if the world abandons the child, the rivers of Bharat will never allow him to perish.
Ganga smiled softly.
"If fate ever tries to drown you..."
"The rivers themselves will rise to protect you."
She gently placed the baby back into the basket.
The current slowly began carrying him away once again.
This time, the river moved with clear purpose.
As if guiding him toward the next Chapter of his life.
Ganga stood silently upon the water as the basket drifted farther away.
"Grow well, child of the Sun."
"Your destiny will shake heaven and earth."
With that, the River Goddess dissolved back into the sacred waters.
The river returned to its peaceful flow.
But far above the mortal world, another pair of eyes watched everything.
In the radiant palace of the sun, blazing with endless golden light, the Sun God stood upon a throne of solar fire.
This was the celestial domain of Surya.
Before him floated a divine mirror formed from pure sunlight.
Within its surface appeared the image of the drifting basket.
Surya watched silently.
Beside him stood his two consorts, Sanjna and Chhaya.
Sanjna spoke first.
"That child..."
"He carries your blood."
Chhaya nodded slowly.
"But he carries more than that."
"Mahadev has taken interest in him. And now Ganga has blessed him as well."
Surya’s gaze remained fixed upon the tiny figure sleeping inside the basket.
His expression hardened.
"My son shall not suffer humiliation from fate."
Golden flames flickered around his body.
Slowly he raised his hand.
A beam of solar light descended through the heavens.
It touched the drifting basket for only a moment before disappearing.
Inside Karna’s mind, the system responded instantly.
System notification.
Divine Paternal Protection detected.
Source: Surya Deva.
Dharma Critical Hit Multiplier activated.
Ten million times.
New blessing obtained.
Eternal Solar Guardian Flame.
The host gains resistance to cold, darkness, disease, and spiritual decay.
Solar energy affinity increased.
The child’s body began radiating faint warmth, like the first rays of sunrise.
Surya lowered his hand slowly.
His eyes softened slightly.
"My son..."
"No matter where fate sends you... the sun will always watch over you."
But not all eyes observing the child were filled with affection.
Far away, in the celestial city of Amaravati, thunder rolled across golden clouds.
Within a palace of lightning sat the king of the gods.
The ruler of the heavens.
Indra.
He watched the mortal world through a veil of storm clouds.
His gaze focused upon the drifting basket.
Indra’s brows slowly furrowed.
"The child of Surya..."
"And blessed by Ganga."
Lightning flickered faintly around his throne.
"That combination alone is dangerous."
He extended his divine perception, attempting to examine the child’s destiny.
The king of gods searched the threads of fate.
But something strange happened.
Nothing appeared.
No origin.
No future.
No destiny.
Just emptiness.
Indra frowned deeply.
"That is impossible."
Every being born in the universe had a destiny thread.
Yet when he searched for this child—
He found nothing.
Suddenly, an unseen force pushed his divine vision away.
Inside Karna’s mind, the system responded once more.
System notification.
Heavenly observation detected.
Origin Veil of Mahakal activated.
Observer identity: Indra Deva.
Observation result: Blocked.
Host’s origin, system, and destiny remain concealed.
Indra’s eyes widened slightly.
His divine sight had been rejected.
Something powerful was protecting this child.
"Mahakal..."
Indra whispered quietly.
If the Lord of Time himself was shielding the boy, then interfering now would be unwise.
Indra slowly withdrew his divine gaze.
Yet the unease in his heart remained.
"This child..."
"He may become a storm in the future."
Back on the sacred river, the basket continued drifting peacefully.
The newborn Karna slept quietly, unaware of the attention of gods.
The river carried him toward the outskirts of a small village.
A village of humble people.
A village where a charioteer would soon discover a child sent by destiny.
And there, the true human life of Karna would finally begin.
