Infinite Doubling: Conquering the Divine Realm from an Island-Chapter 43: Magic Lamp
"My lord... this is too precious!" The black dragon stammered, clearly taken aback. It hadn’t expected George to give it Holy Crystals.
Most of what it had said earlier was exaggerated. While its ancestors had been better off than it, they weren’t so well-off that they ate Crystals every day.
Usually, Crystals were only brought out during major holidays or important occasions, and even then, they only consumed the lowest-grade ones. Holy Crystals, expensive and rare, were something they wouldn’t even dare to dream of.
But now, this backwoods guy, whom it had looked down on just moments ago, casually tossed two Holy Crystals its way!
"Take them. If you behave well, I can give you more," George said, realizing how precious Holy Crystals were to the dragon, his voice laced with temptation.
"Understood! I’ll serve you well, my lord. I will only obey your commands!" The black dragon, now holding the Holy Crystals, was practically groveling, like a loyal dog, constantly praising George.
George chuckled softly, then mounted the black dragon’s back, taking the female player with him as they began their return journey.
They passed through a city, and George dropped off the female player.
Although she had subtly hinted at wanting to spend the night with George, he remained unmoved.
After all, he had standards and requirements. Ordinary female players no longer caught his eye.
The black dragon continued to fly through the sky, but just as they were approaching George’s domain, it suddenly stopped.
"What’s going on? Why are we stopping?" George furrowed his brows and asked.
The black dragon hesitated, then spoke, "Master, how can your fortress be built here?"
It paused for a moment, then continued, "This is too close to the city. Building a fortress here is illegal. If you attract the attention of the Peacekeeper Office, it could be trouble."
The dragon didn’t know that this was George’s domain. It assumed George’s fortress was something he had secretly built.
George gave him a puzzled look and sighed, "What are you talking about? This is my domain."
"Your... domain?" The black dragon froze for a moment, its mind not quite catching up.
"I, George, am a Viscount, granted the title ’Glory’ by the Marella Region’s district leader," George explained slowly, word by word.
"Viscount?!" The black dragon’s voice trembled, and George could feel its body shaking.
"My master is a Viscount!" The black dragon threw its head back and let out a joyful roar, so excited it began flying erratically in the air.
The black dragon flew for a solid five minutes before finally calming down, though the smile on its face was still impossible to hide.
It understood what being a Viscount meant. Normally, a black dragon of its bloodline wouldn’t even have the right to be a pet of a Viscount.
Only the direct descendants of the Nine True Dragons were eligible to serve as pets to a Viscount or higher titles.
And yet, here it was—perhaps a stroke of fate—it had been chosen by a Viscount.
Seeing the black dragon so excited, George let out a wry smile and said in a low voice, "Black dragon, calm down. I don’t like overly dramatic pets."
"Understood!" The black dragon quickly steadied itself, its tone turning serious.
It had originally planned to just coast through life, but now, that attitude had been tossed aside.
It was determined to serve Viscount George with everything it had, and make its Black Dragon Valley family proud!
Without even realizing it, the black dragon had already flown to the borders of George’s domain.
When Dorothy and Sophia saw such a huge black dragon, they both tensed up, ready for trouble.
But when they saw George sitting on its back, they immediately relaxed.
In the past few days, they had come to a simple understanding: as long as George was around, there was no problem that couldn’t be solved.
"Viscount! Viscount!" Mr. Brown suddenly popped out from some nearby bushes.
At the sight of the dragon, he flinched at first, but after understanding the situation, his admiration for George only grew deeper.
He had thought George was just a noble heir, but to see his strength was a different story altogether.
The black dragon, which was famous in the nearby cities, had been so easily subdued by George, and even signed a slave contract.
"Mr. Brown, I’ve prepared the obsidian. Is there anything else you need?" George asked, pulling out the obsidian and turning to Brown.
Brown took out some blueprints and, after thinking for a moment, said, "Most of the materials I have... oh, don’t worry, everything I’ve prepared is of the highest standard. But..."
"But what? The cost isn’t an issue," George assumed Brown was running low on funds.
"Well, there’s one thing I just can’t get my hands on." Brown scratched his head, sounding a bit embarrassed.
"Something other than obsidian that Mr. Brown can’t get?" George asked, curious.
"This thing can’t be bought with money. There’s only one of it in the entire continent, probably," Brown said, his voice serious.
"One? What is it?" George quickly asked, intrigued.
"George Viscount, have you ever heard of the City of Magic?" Brown asked.
George thought carefully for a moment, then shook his head. "I’ve never heard of it."
Brown couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement—finally, it was his turn to shine.
He cleared his throat and began to explain to George, "The City of Magic was a place dedicated to developing all kinds of magical skills. Unfortunately, it was destroyed many years ago. Now, only the ruins of the City of Magic remain. It’s a dangerous place, filled with traps, and very few people make it out alive."
He paused for a moment, his voice filled with a hint of longing. "But within the ruins of the City of Magic, there is a legendary item known as the Magic Lamp."
"Magic Lamp? Does it have a genie inside?" George immediately thought of the Aladdin Magic Lamp, guessing it might be a hidden Easter egg in the game design.
"Viscount, please, let me explain the origin of the Magic Lamp!" Brown urged.
"The Magic Lamp," he continued, "was once the personal item of the City of Magic’s lord. He sealed all of his servants and maids inside the lamp, forcing them to serve him forever."
He paused briefly, adding, "These servants were the best of the best, and because of the Magic Lamp’s special effect, they are completely loyal to their master! Besides that, it’s said that the Magic Lamp has many other mysterious abilities, though I don’t know the specifics."
At these words, George’s face lit up with excitement.
What he needed most right now were loyal servants.
A massive fortress definitely wouldn’t be complete without a full staff of servants, and the most important trait in a servant was loyalty!
George didn’t have the time to vet each servant individually, so the Magic Lamp seemed like the perfect solution to this problem.
Additionally, George was very curious about the City of Magic that Brown mentioned.
After briefly mocking his own busy fate, George immediately began preparing to head to the ruins of the City of Magic.
Although both Sophia and Dorothy offered to come with him, George refused.
The ruins of the City of Magic were far too dangerous, and it would be safer for them to stay behind.
As for the black dragon? Initially, George thought it would be a good idea to take it along, both to show it the world and improve their teamwork.
But as soon as the dragon heard they were going to the City of Magic, it suddenly pretended to be sick and refused to go.
In the end, George set off alone, using his Holy Light wings to travel.
Interestingly, as soon as George approached the ruins of the City of Magic, he stumbled upon a robbery in progress.
Both the robbers and the victims were players. George had initially planned to ignore it.
But when he saw that the robbers were from Azure League, he instantly changed his mind.
As expected, the nature of Azure League members never changed. Wherever they went, they always resorted to pillaging, burning, and killing.
George couldn’t help but wonder why the Peacekeeper Office hadn’t dealt with them yet.
Slowly, he descended and cast a faint glance at the Azure League players.
Just one look, and the players instantly collapsed to the ground, dropping their weapons in fear.
It was because they saw the third eye on George’s forehead—a blood-red eye!
"Who’s in charge here?" George asked, uninterested in wasting time.
"It’s... it’s me!" One player, feeling all eyes on him, reluctantly raised his hand.
"The City of Magic is dangerous, why are you guys coming near here?" George asked.
"Your Excellency, it’s not that we wanted to come. Our captain brought us here, said something about finding a god in the City of Magic... I think it’s some treasure. He wanted to bring it back as a birthday gift for our guild leader!" the player explained.
"A birthday gift?" George frowned, feeling that things were getting more complicated.
The guild leader of Azure League held a high position and had long since acquired plenty of equipment and items.
The only thing that could really catch his interest would be the loyal servants and beautiful maids trapped in the Magic Lamp.
"What’s your captain’s name?" George asked again.
"Yasha, he’s an assassin," the player quickly replied.
"Alright, next time, be more careful. And remember, don’t get involved in robbery," George said, waving his hand.
With a confused look on their faces, the players met their end.
The rescued players were about to kneel to thank George, but by the time they looked up, he was already gone.
Right now, George just wanted to find the Magic Lamp quickly—hopefully, before Yasha and his group did.
Upon reaching the City of Magic, George immediately sensed something was off.
This feeling was unlike anything he had felt in other cities, and it made sense why people thought the City of Magic was so dangerous.
Just then, he noticed a woman riding a broomstick in the distance.
"Louise!" George’s heart skipped a beat—he hadn’t expected to find her here.
Louise had clearly noticed him too. She smiled and casually unbuttoned her clothes, revealing her chest, gesturing for him to come over.
Seeing Louise’s expression, George furrowed his brows. The Dwarven King Iron Hammer quietly appeared in his hand.
