"Have you seen the bulletin board? What’s this about the transfer student’s punishment? Is there something going on?"
⌎ "I don’t know what’s going on, but this transfer student will probably win first place in the student vote for this semester."
⌎ "Who won last semester?"
⌎ "It was Dorian. Don’t you remember the finger-cutting incident?"
⌎ "It’s not Dorian, it’s Raven, Matthew Lennox-senpai. And there was no finger-cutting incident."
⌎ "Are you spying on me when I post on the bulletin board?"
⌎ "I’m from Class F and was there during the courage test. I’m rooting for Melody Hastings."
⌎ "I’m a Class F student too. I almost died during the courage test because of her, but I’m praying for her."
⌎ "I’m also from Class F. Melody Hastings is the manifestation of Sister Gloria. I respect her."
⌎ "What’s going on with everyone from Class F after the courage test incident? What happened?"
⌎ "Seems like Oliver Henswicks' article is true."
⌎ "Could it be true? They’re probably just making up a concept. People into arts tend to be a bit weird, so be cautious."
After the courage test incident, the disciplinary committee increased their monitoring and guiding activities.
This was my first disciplinary committee activity after joining.
More importantly, since I had to complete community service hours, it was a bit of a dilemma because those hours could be substituted by disciplinary committee activities. So, I had to put effort into the committee work.
In the early morning, I yawned as I sat in the disciplinary committee room.
The other members who had been called early in the morning were rubbing their sleepy eyes here and there.
Father Miella entered the room and stood in front of the podium.
"As you all know, we’re in the middle of the exam period, so this is a critical time."
Some exams would start as soon as next week. I nodded while yawning.
‘Now that I think about it, the Student Council President and Dante said we were going to check out that lodge.’
Leonard, another disciplinary committee member, was listening attentively to Father Miella's words.
"From today, we’ll be strictly monitoring and enforcing the school rules."
At Father Miella’s words, complaints from the disciplinary committee members popped up here and there.
"Father, we still need to study for exams."
"I know you all will do well on your own," Father Miella replied, ignoring Maddox-senpai’s comment.
Father Miella silenced Maddox-senpai with his next words.
"Besides, by participating in the disciplinary committee activities, you can earn extra points. Isn’t that a good thing for you?"
"Ah, extra points? Well, in that case, I’m in."
Maddox-senpai immediately corrected his earlier comment.
‘Extra points, huh? I guess that’s a relief.’
I was secretly pleased, but then Father Miella added one more thing.
"By the way, Hastings is still under punishment, so she’s excluded from the extra point list."
"What?"
I asked back in disbelief, but Father Miella ignored me and moved on to the next agenda.
I saw Leonard clicking his tongue and shaking his head from the side.
There was nothing I could do. I had no choice but to work harder at the disciplinary committee activities and study even harder for the exams.
Leonard would earn extra points for ✧ NоvеIight ✧ (Original source) his participation, and to beat him, I’d have to work twice as hard.
‘Alright. I’ll give it a try.’
However, the bigger problem I faced wasn’t studying for exams but the disciplinary committee activities, as it became clear soon enough.
The school start time was 8 AM, and the disciplinary committee members had to gather in front of the main building at 7 AM.
As I listened to the announcement from Father Miella and Western-senpai, I clasped my hands and sweated nervously.
"Are the students obedient? Do these activities even have an effect?"
As a disciplinary committee member, my job in the morning was to monitor the students’ uniforms.
Who even still does uniform checks in this day and age?
"Because you’re students. Some level of control is necessary. You’re all still young."
Leonard answered with his arms crossed. He had a bit of an old-fashioned side, even though he didn’t seem like it.
He glanced at me, then stroked his chin with a thoughtful look.
"But do you think you can control the kids? You’d be lucky if they don’t ignore you." freewebnσvel.cѳm
"I might even listen out of pity."
Maddox-senpai responded to Leonard’s words.
It was interesting that there were no F-Class students in the Student Council, but there were three of us from F-Class in the disciplinary committee.
Leonard, Diana-senpai, and I. All F-Class students, so we were in charge of monitoring the main building, while the other students were responsible for monitoring F-Class.
I teamed up with Leonard, and we stood in front of the main entrance of the main building, checking the students’ uniforms.
"Hey, you didn’t wear your tie properly. That’s a violation of the rules."
We stopped passing students to inspect whether they were following the dress code.
The problem was that everyone treated the checks as a joke.
Especially, they saw me as an easy target.
"Thanks, Hastings! I’ll do better next time. Just let it slide today, alright?"
They’d ignore me and pass by without a care.
"Whoosh—Hastings is so pretty! The disciplinary armband looks great on you!"
"Hastings, can’t you just pretend you didn’t see it? Can’t even do that?"
The students made noise as they passed by, some throwing tantrums, of course.
"Even though the school claims equality, nobles are still nobles, you know? If you give me a demerit, you better be prepared for what happens after graduation."
A student even threatened me.
"What did you say? Don’t you know that rebelling against the disciplinary committee is also a rule violation?"
Leonard, who was half-heartedly working beside me, threw in his comment, and that was when the students finally quieted down.
Occasionally, a student would even try to get away with it, saying things like,
"Why are you staring like that? Hey, I’m your senior. Keep your eyes open."
At those times, Leonard would puff his chest out and step forward, his shoulders squared, as his nickname "Kenard" would suggest.
"What did you say, senior?"
He’d look at them with a fierce face, and most of the time, they’d back down feeling intimidated.
As we passed by, some students who saw Leonard and me would cheer us on.
"You don’t really belong in the disciplinary committee. With someone as weak as you, the discipline will be all over the place."
Then, one passing male student, overhearing our conversation, added,
"Disciplinary committee was always feared. You’ve got Kenard, the ice-cold Western-senpai, Maddox-senpai, Queen Diana, and Assassin Kira."
I didn’t know that Kira, the first-year student, was nicknamed Assassin. She looked cute, so how did she end up with such a scary nickname?
What’s more, everyone had titles next to their names, except Kenard. It seemed like "Kenard" was a unique proper noun, much like "Dorian".
