Surrender To Us, Our Luna (One Luna, Four Alphas)-Chapter 538-Reunited Monsters
Clementine:
Everything was happening so strangely that I stood there in disbelief. My heart began to pound rapidly.
The same handsome man, incredibly good looking, rushed toward the fence and grabbed it with both hands. A deep connection surged through me.
For the first time, it felt as if I knew him. As if I had known him forever.
"Clementine," he called out, gripping the bars.
Tears streamed down his face as if he had been starving just to see me.
"Open it," he shouted, shaking the cage violently. "I will not let you treat her like this."
When I looked around, I saw several men, probably warriors, trying to stop the people who had come with Ian. Chaos had already begun.
War had started.
And inside me, something was burning.
I could not help anyone. The transition had begun.
I dropped to my knees. My bones started cracking.
Within moments, Mint took over.
I glanced at my hands and saw how large and deadly my claws had become. The truth about my Mint rushed back to me.
Then another memory surfaced. The council leaders had once forbidden me from shifting in front of anyone.
If I had transformed back then and revealed myself, perhaps they would have used it against me. It was as if the council had always known that one day they would need something to turn against me.
As if they had known me long before I understood myself.
A scream tore out of me as my wolf took full control.
I rose inside the cage.
When I stood and looked outside, I saw the shock on their faces. They gasped.
Their jaws hung open. Fear filled their eyes.
And that fear felt like it would become my end.
Then I tilted my head slightly and saw that the extremely handsome man had begun his transition as well.
Just as they were disturbed by me, they reacted the same way to him. Their eyes widened in disbelief.
He began to howl.
His wolf was larger than mine. More terrifying.
I slammed myself against the cage. He did the same.
A thousand questions flooded my mind. Why had he revealed himself to everyone?
He was my mate. I could feel the connection between us.
The moment he grabbed the cage, he bent the bars with a single powerful jerk.
Suddenly, an arrow sliced through the air.
I watched it strike Ian.
"No!" I howled.
Seeing his pain made my own chest tighten. I lunged forward to keep him from collapsing.
We held each other upright.
Then another arrow shot forward and pierced my neck.
I understood immediately that it was not ordinary. It was laced with some kind of poison.
My vision began to blur. My eyes slowly closed.
My transition back to human form started.
So did Ian’s.
After the transition, I saw several warriors rush forward and throw sheets over us. Panic spread through the crowd.
People scattered across the ground, fleeing as if we were about to attack them. The field emptied within seconds.
I faintly sensed that we were being carried. I also heard arguments breaking out around us.
"You cannot take my son," a distant voice protested.
By then, it was too late.
So many warriors had surrounded us that even if someone had tried to fight, it would have taken days to reach us.
When I opened my eyes again, I found myself inside a moving vehicle. I was barely awake.
There was no strength left in my body. Confusion still clouded my thoughts.
All I could manage was to look at the man lying in front of me.
His thick black brows rested over his closed eyes. His long lashes brushed against his skin.
I wanted him to open his eyes so I could see their color again.
Very slowly, I reached forward and placed my hand on the back of his hand. My eyes began to close once more.
When I woke up again, his eyes were open.
He groaned and struggled against his restraints. Even though he had been given wolfsbane like I had, he was fighting it.
He thrashed violently.
Several warriors were forced to secure him with silver chains. I had handcuffs on as well.
We were being carried somewhere.
When they finally pulled me out of the vehicle, I saw a place that felt familiar. I had been there before.
The problem was that I could not remember where.
Then they dragged me toward a corner and dropped me beside a train at a station.
Fragments of memory returned.
This was the train that used to take us north.
I needed clarity.
I needed to know exactly what was happening.
Until I understood, I was completely clueless.
"Where are they taking us?" I asked in a faint voice.
Ian was still throwing punches, forcing them away from him. He lifted his head and looked at me.
"Clementine," he breathed, and just hearing my name made my heart stumble again.
"Where are they taking us?" I repeated. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"They are taking us north to hide their truth," he replied confidently.
He sounded certain. That clarity was exactly what I needed.
"Then listen to me," I told him gently.
"We do not need to fight back."
The moment I said that, he stopped moving his hands and stared at me.
"North will be a much better place than this."
As I spoke, I saw his eyebrows rise.
"I need a minute," I said softly.
"I do not understand what is happening, and it is important that I sit somewhere quietly for a while."
I whispered the last part.
That was all it took.
The man who had been fighting moments ago went completely still for me.
Soon after, they threw both of us into the train.
After that, my eyes began to close again. I was fading, but I knew one thing for certain.
Ian moved closer and carefully held my hands between his, even though we were both handcuffed. It felt as if, as long as we were together, we would be alright.
