Surprise Marriage to a Billionaire-Chapter 412: Get Comfortable
Chapter 412: Get Comfortable
William took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, the tension in his shoulders easing slightly as he watched his men secure Rico and Dina inside the aircraft. His sharp eyes stayed on them, scrutinizing every movement as the tracking devices were carefully fastened to their ankles.
He wasn’t willing to take any chances, not this time. There were too many variables, too many risks. This operation had to go flawlessly, and he’d already put countermeasures in place for anything that might go wrong.
As Rico and Dina were forced into their seats, bound and subdued, William pulled out his phone and quickly dialed his brother’s number.
"I’ve got them both," he said tersely, keeping his voice steady. "We’re ready to leave in two minutes, and I’ll move them to the location we discussed." Without waiting for a reply, he ended the call and slipped the phone back into his pocket.
There was no time to waste. William climbed into the aircraft and took his seat across from Rico. Then he signaled to his men to prepare for takeoff.
Rico glared at him, his jaw tight and his expression a mix of defiance and unease. William was grateful his wife took after her mother, although Sanya had inherited her father’s eye color, a deep brown shade, like mahogany. William’s blood boiled at the sight of Rico and the potential harm this man could bring to his wife.
Dina, on the other hand, looked pale and rattled, her eyes darting around the cabin as if searching for an escape that didn’t exist.
William leaned back slightly in his seat, his eyes never leaving Rico. The corners of his lips tugged into a cold, knowing smirk. "Get comfortable," he said, his voice low and laced with menace. "You’ve got a long ride ahead of you."
"Kid, tell me, where are you planning to take us, huh?" Rico sneered. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "And what’s with these things on our feet?" Rico added, glancing down at the sleek devices strapped to their ankles.
William crossed his arms and casually said, "Those," he began, his voice calm but firm, "are trackers. But not just any trackers, they’re also bombs. Try to tamper with them, and they’ll explode. No warnings. No second chances."
The color drained from Dina’s face as her eyes widened in horror. "You’re bluffing," she whispered, though her trembling voice made it clear she wasn’t convinced.
Rico cursed under his breath, his bravado cracking just slightly. "You’re playing a dangerous game, kid."
William narrowed his eyes as he leaned forward, his smirk sharpening into a cold, predatory grin. "No, you’re the one who’s been playing a dangerous game. And now, it’s game over."
Rico scoffed, but William’s sharp gaze didn’t waver. He studied the man carefully, his instincts kicking in. ’My hunch was right. That smug confidence isn’t his alone, someone powerful is backing him,’ William thought grimly.
William’s jaw tightened as he considered his options. He couldn’t afford to let this opportunity slip away. If Rico refused to talk, William would have to use every tool at his disposal to make both of them spill the truth. He had to make sure it ended with the real mastermind.
The terse silence was broken by the hum of the aircraft and Dina’s sudden outburst.
"You useless mutt!" Dina spat, her furious glare directed at Rico. "I thought you were powerful! How could you be so useless, letting the Lancasters track us so easily?"
Rico’s jaw tightened as he snapped back, "Shut up, you bjtch. If it weren’t for me, you’d still be rotting in that prison!"
Dina’s eyes blazed with fury as she hissed, "And you think being caught by William Lancaster isn’t worse? You idiot!"
The two continued their heated exchange, their words growing sharper with each passing second. William remained silent, watching them with a calm, calculating gaze. He let them argue, hoping their animosity might reveal something useful.
As Rico and Dina’s voices escalated, William finally spoke, his voice cutting through their bickering like a blade. "Are you two done? Because if you’re not, I can arrange for a much quieter ride."
Both of them immediately fell silent, though the hatred between them was palpable. William smirked inwardly. Their unraveling was just beginning and he would use every crack in their fragile alliance to his advantage.
Dina shifted uncomfortably in her seat, her pale face betraying her unease. Rico, on the other hand, leaned back, his smirk returning, though it didn’t reach his eyes. William wasn’t fooled, he could see the cracks in Rico’s bravado.
William’s voice dropped an octave, firm and final. "Test my patience, and you’ll regret it."
He would get the truth, no matter what it took.
Rico sneered but kept his mouth shut, his calculating eyes fixed on William. His mind was racing, a storm of thoughts swirling as he tried to find a way out of this mess. The surprise attack had thrown him off completely. He hadn’t anticipated that the Lancasters could act so swiftly and with such precision. Clearly, they were a far bigger threat than he’d initially thought.
For Rico, survival was everything. If he wanted to save his skin, there was only one card left to play: talking. But even that carried its risks. He wasn’t naive, he knew the man standing before him wasn’t the forgiving type. No amount of information would guarantee his freedom, and he doubted William would let him off so easily.
Still, there was another issue: Dina. He cast a sideways glance at her. She was panicked, her breathing uneven, and she looked ready to crumble under pressure. Rico frowned in disgust. She was no longer his problem, and he had no intention of letting her drag him down with her.
Rico straightened slightly, his demeanor shifting as his mind churned out possible scenarios. Escape wasn’t impossible, it never was. He just needed an opening. Maybe during the transfer, or if he could manipulate the situation to his advantage.
He had allies, resources... there was always a way. But for now, he needed to bide his time. He couldn’t afford to make a move too soon, not with William’s men watching his every step. Rico’s lips curled into a faint smirk as he finally broke the silence.
"Impressive work," he drawled, his tone laced with sarcasm. "Didn’t think you had it in you, kid. But tell me, what’s your endgame here? Do you think you can keep me locked away forever? People like me... we always find a way."
William’s gaze hardened, knowing the truth behind Rico’s words. This man had been locked up countless times in his home country, only to slip through the cracks each time. Rico’s history of escaping justice made him a dangerous wildcard.
William’s lips curled into a cold, calculating smirk as his eyes glinted with malice. In a calm, almost casual tone, he hummed, "Who said I’m planning to lock you up?"
Rico’s confident facade wavered, and Dina’s eyes widened in sudden panic. "Wait... What do you mean? Where are you taking us? Where are you taking me?!" Dina’s voice rose, trembling as she stared at William, her composure crumbling.
William leaned back in his seat, his expression unchanging, letting their panic settle in. For him, this was the beginning of ensuring that neither of them would escape accountability this time.

Meanwhile, at Carla’s apartment, the ringing of her mobile phone cut through the silence of the night. It was just past midnight, and Carla groggily stirred awake. She cursed under her breath as she carefully slipped Renzo’s arm off her body. He had been staying with her during her fertile days, a convenient arrangement.
Renzo had his uses... he was a good companion in bed, and she had been enjoying his presence. But once those days were over, she would promptly kick him out of her life. He would remain nothing more than a tool for her.
With a frustrated groan, Carla reached for her phone. The call was coming from her burner phone, the one she kept hidden in her bedside table drawer. Her heart skipped a beat. She wasn’t expecting any calls at this hour.
"Hello?!" she grunted into the receiver, annoyance seeping through her voice.
"Boss, there’s a problem! The villa was attacked! All our men are either dead or wounded! They took the woman... and they took Boss Rico too! I’m the only one who managed to escape," the voice on the other end rasped, panic evident in his breath.
"F*ck!" Carla cursed sharply, her mind racing. Without a second thought, she hung up the phone and immediately dialed another number.
"The villa was attacked!" Carla snapped, her voice trembling with urgency. "Find out where they’re taking my people! We need to act fast and retrieve at least Rico!"
Her hands clenched into fists as she paced, the weight of the situation sinking in. She didn’t care much about Dina... Rico was important, the man who knew all her secrets. If Rico was lost, so was she. It was either they saved him, or he died before he could talk about her.
