Chapter 389: The plan she was weaving

Alexander drove for just forty minutes before they arrived at a secluded bay shore, tucked away from the bustle of the capital city. The sight of the serene shoreline made Rain smile as Alexander parked and started unloading their gear... foldable chairs, a griller, and a picnic basket.

He started making a fire to keep themselves warm since it was already winter and a bit chilly.

"Need a hand?" Rain asked, grinning as she watched him work.

Alexander waved her off and gently pulled her toward one of the chairs. Then he covered her with a blanket.

"I’ve got this. You just sit back, relax, and enjoy the view of your husband hard at work," he teased, adding a wink for good measure.

Rain chuckled, feeling thoroughly spoiled. "Alright, Mr. Military, show me what you’ve got. Guess all that training is coming in handy now," she said playfully.

"Military training was nothing compared to grilling for my wife," Alexander quipped as he set up the grill. Then, pausing momentarily, he asked curiously, "Wait, did I tell you about that already?"

"Yes, you did!" Rain burst out, laughing as she recalled the stories he had shared. She began recounting them while he added the occasional comment or correction. "You even told me about that time during training when you had temporary blindness because of William’s clumsiness," she teased.

Alexander let out a hearty laugh, shaking his head. "Oh, right! That was brutal, going through training blind was no joke."

Rain stood and wrapped her arms around him from behind, resting her head on his back. "Your military experiences made you stronger... both you and William. You admired Father Rock so much that you both wanted to follow in his footsteps. But life had different paths for you, business for you and security for William."

Alexander smiled as he flipped the food on the grill. "Exactly. William inherited more of Dad’s personality, his energy, his charisma. I’m more like Mom, serious and methodical. I can barely pull off a joke."

Rain giggled. "And yet, you’re charming in your own way. Maybe it’s your serious side that makes your rare jokes so precious."

Alexander turned slightly to meet her eyes, his smile softening. "And maybe it’s you that makes everything feel easier."

Rain blushed deeply and then directed her gaze to the beautiful sunset ahead. "So beautiful," she muttered with a smile. Everything felt perfect... the serene surroundings, the sunset, the smell of the ocean, and the soothing sound of the waves.

"Hmm, indeed, but not as beautiful as you, Rain," Alexander murmured.

When Rain turned to him, she saw his twinkling eyes fixed on her. Heat rushed to her face, and butterflies fluttered in her stomach.

"Ah, it feels like we’re in the early stages of courtship," he added with a gentle smile.

"I guess it is for me, since I still can’t remember a thing. But I like this feeling inside of me, and I really love you," Alexander confessed, making her heart swell with joy.

"And I love you too, but please make sure you don’t burn our dinner," she teased, and at that moment, Alexander quickly flipped the meat on the grill.

Meanwhile, Rain stood up and grabbed a few other things, including their coffee maker. "I’ll make us some hot coffee," she said with a grin.

Alexander nodded, and she made just one cup because she wanted them to share it.

She approached him and handed him the coffee, saying, "Here, just one cup for us."

Alexander raised an eyebrow as he accepted it, taking a sip before handing it back to her. "Are you trying to charm me by sharing?" he teased.

Rain chuckled softly, taking a sip from the cup and murmuring, "Is it working?"

Alexander leaned in and brushed his lips against her forehead, whispering, "It sure does."

They enjoyed dinner with laughter, Rain reminiscing precious moments with Alexander and sharing them with him.

"So, are you saying I’m the one who first crawled into your bed?" Alexander questioned, his tone playful. "I’m the one who raised the white flag first?" he added, exaggerating his disbelief.

Rain chuckled and replied, "Yes, you did! You even said you were there to perform husbandly duties."

Alexander blinked at her in disbelief, as though he still couldn’t accept it.

"When I told you that you were breaking the contract, this is what you said: ’I’m not breaking it. The contract specifies that you’ll fulfill all wifely duties, excluding sharing my bed. It doesn’t say anything about me not performing husbandly duties, including sharing your bed.’"

"Oh," Alexander muttered, feigning naivety. "I guess that’s what you call finding loopholes in a contract?"

Alexander smiled softly, his gaze still fixed on Rain as he added, "But then, it’s probably me who gave in first... just like now, how easily I’ve fallen for you, even though I can’t remember a thing about us."

Rain’s heart skipped a beat at his words, her cheeks warming once more. She reached out to gently cup his face, her thumb brushing against his cheek.

"That’s because some things are just meant to be," she whispered, her voice filled with affection. "Even if your memories are gone, your heart still knows."

Alexander’s lips curved into a tender smile, and he leaned into her touch. "If that’s true, then I’m grateful my heart knows what my mind doesn’t. I’m just glad I have you now."

Rain couldn’t hold back her smile as she whispered, "And I’m grateful for every moment with you, Alexander."

"Damn, I just want to hold you right now, but our dinner can’t wait. Let me get this ready first, and later... I’ll definitely deal with you, Mrs. Lancaster!" Alexander grunted with a playful smirk.

Rain chuckled, stepping back to give him space as he focused on finishing the meal. Once everything was ready, the two of them sat down to eat under the starry night sky.

Alexander opened a bottle of wine, pouring two glasses. Rain’s eyes widened as a thought struck her. "Oh, I’m in no mood for wine tonight. You can have mine," she said, pushing the glass gently toward him.

Her mind raced as she inwardly scolded herself for finishing the coffee earlier. Today was the thirteenth, and her period was supposed to come... yet it hadn’t.

Maybe Sanya was right, she thought, her excitement bubbling up. Could I really be pregnant?

She had been so caught up in the busyness of the past few days that she’d nearly forgotten Sanya’s earlier words.

"How about soda?" Alexander asked, breaking her train of thought.

Rain quickly shook her head. "Just water for me."

Alexander didn’t miss a beat, grabbing a bottle of water and twisting the cap off for her. Handing it over, he gave her a curious glance, but Rain simply smiled and took a sip, her heart now full of anticipation for what the future might hold. She would definitely take a pregnancy test as early as tomorrow.

Meanwhile, at Carla’s apartment, her bedroom filled with her moans as she rode on top of Renzo, driving her ecstasy.

"Carla, I’m coming," Renzo murmured, and like she had done in the past few days, she urged, "Yes, release it all inside of me."

She bounced up and down until her body jolted, feeling Renzo’s warm liquid inside of her. He was still inside of her as she slumped her trembling body against him. freёwebnoѵel.com

"What we’re doing isn’t safe, Carla," Renzo murmured against her skin. She might indeed get pregnant, but that was the plan.

"Don’t worry too much, Renzo, and just enjoy my company while it lasts. It’s not like every day you’ll get this opportunity," she murmured against his skin. He was a good companion in bed because Renzo made sure she always felt pleasure whenever they were together.

"Tell me, did you manage to find out if it’s confirmed that Alexander will attend the annual ball of Lane?" she asked him curiously.

Lane.com, Inc. was a multinational technology company engaged in e-commerce, cloud computing, online advertising, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. The company was owned by Sebastian’s family, a close family friend not just by their family but Alexander as well and the party was on Monday.

"I did, don’t worry about it. His executive assistant confirmed his attendance at that ball," Renzo answered with a groan when she suddenly moved, pulling him on top of her as she lay on the bed.

"You’re hard again, so go on and bury yourself deep inside of me," she murmured with a devious smirk as she raised her legs and rested them on his shoulders so Renzo could penetrate her deeper and bury all of his seed inside of her.

"But Carla..." he hesitated.

"I’m on pills, so stop worrying and just give me the pleasure I want," she grunted as she urged him to move. She needed Renzo for the plan she was weaving. "Release everything to me and don’t h old back. I want to feel it all inside..."
