Chapter 1131: Chapter 1130: The Show Begins

"Look at him, like a bear; he’s probably never seen anything so lavish in his entire life. Poor thing, a good flower ended up with a pile of cow dung!"

"Ugh, can you stop talking like that? You’ve ruined my appetite! Just thinking about that pile of dung sitting with us makes me want to retch!"

It seemed, seeing Xu Ke not daring to talk back, this group of people became more reckless.

Hearing these unpleasant words, Lin Yiran’s face was clouded with gloom, and she pinched Xu Ke hard.

Xu Ke squirmed, escaping her grasp, and handed the freshly peeled lobster to her.

Lin Yiran’s face turned completely black; there was no way she would take it, and with a flick of her hand, she knocked it to the ground.

"What a waste of good meat!" Xu Ke winced with pain, shook his head, and reached for the platter again.

Seeing this, those guys laughed even more smugly, their disdain not hidden at all, gradually drawing more people’s attention.

The elderly man sitting beside Xu Ke, however, watched him with interest, and casually handed over his plate.

"Thanks!" Xu Ke accepted without reservation, glancing at the old man before taking everything.

"Click, click, like a starving ghost reincarnated! Are you guys still eating? If not, do a good deed and give it to him!"

"You really thought it through, Xu. But even if he ate the whole table, he’d get sick of it; why not add some seasoning?"

As they spoke, he held up the plate, gagged a few times, and pushed it in front of Xu Ke, ready to watch a good show with a smile.

The old man furrowed his brow but said nothing more, folding his arms as he watched Xu Ke, curious to see how he’d handle it.

The commotion grew louder, attracting more focus than the auction itself. With so many eyes on them, the men became even more smug.

Xu Ke finally raised his head, wiped his mouth with a napkin, and spun the dining knife in his hand, sending it flying.

Directly across, the guy felt a chill on his arm, his whole body freezing, staring blankly at the quivering knife, cold sweat trickling down his temple.

"You..."

"You should be glad it didn’t land on your forehead!" Xu Ke interrupted before he could finish, twirling the fork in his hand, pointing it at the man with a calm voice: "I’m not like you; I know there’s a need to maintain decency in public! It’s one thing for you to embarrass yourself; don’t drag our table down with you!"

With that, he drove the fork into the table, all the way down to the handle, then leaned his head back against the chair.

This scene made everyone around flash their eyes; even Lin Yiran gasped and opened her mouth wide.

The waitstaff, hearing the commotion, came over to inquire what was going on.

The few young men were still in shock; Xu Ke waved indifferently: "It’s nothing, just a little magic trick. Go tell Master Chu I got a bit carried away and damaged his rosewood table, and I’ll apologize to him personally later!"

Using Master Chu’s name, the waiter dared not delay, turning promptly to report.

Soon, Scarred Eyebrow, who always followed Master Chu, walked over, glaring at the few young men across.

With his predatory gaze on them, those young hearts tightened, ready to explain.

But before they could speak, Scarred Eyebrow rasped, pointing to the door: "The master says you’ve disrupted the auction proceedings; you’re to be kicked out!"

Though dry in tone, the words left everyone stunned; how could the young men accept this? They immediately pointed at Xu Ke, trying to blame everything on him. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"That’s the master’s specially invited guest, someone not like you with no manners! Now’s your chance to leave nicely, or if I have to do it, you’ll surely be thrown out!"

Scarred Eyebrow didn’t even blink.

Upon hearing this, the young men’s minds blanked. Looking at Xu Ke’s outfit worth only a few thousand, he didn’t fit the "distinguished guest" description at all.

But before they could say more, Scarred Eyebrow picked them up one by one, directly dragging them to the door, tossing them out, still patting his hands.

The auction was interrupted by this scene. Rather than focusing on Scarred Eyebrow’s actions, everyone turned their gaze towards Xu Ke.

Speculations rose about this so-called distinguished guest, curious about his true background.

Just as they all were thrown out, Scarred Eyebrow glared fiercely at Xu Ke before swinging his head and leaving the scene.

The auctioneer was stunned for a while before regaining his professionalism, speaking a few words to bring the auction’s atmosphere back on track. Yet, the incident had already changed the vibe of the auction, and it took four or five items to somewhat recover the mood.

Shen Mi wasn’t paying attention to the auction anymore, her eyes gleaming and fixated on Xu Ke. Lin Yiran looked at him with an expression of shock.

"Does your eye have a twitch?" Xu Ke casually picked the fork from below the table, "It’s just a trick; is it worth being so surprised?"

He knew his prior actions were a bit extreme, attributing it all to the hole that was originally on the table.

What he forgot was that the knife was still stuck there. Finally, it was Shen Mi who first snapped back, chuckling: "Could you give us a heads-up before doing your tricks?"

"Would it be convincing if I told you beforehand? What’s the point of revealing a trick?"

Xu Ke smoothly moved past the topic, turning his head to the calm-looking old man beside him, raising a glass of wine and handing it over.

"Sorry for interrupting your drinking; let me toast you this cup as an apology!"

"Your trick is rather interesting; it’s perfect to pair with wine, so no need for apologies! Come, let’s drink!"

The old man, much easier to talk to than Xu Ke anticipated, clinked glasses with Xu Ke liberally, downing his drink in a single shot.

The old man and young man bonded over their chat, while Lin Yiran remained brow-furrowed and silent, occasionally glancing at the toasting figures, her brows furrowed, deep in thought.

With a slam of the gavel, the auction reached its end. Under everyone’s eyes, a painting frame was brought to the stage.

The framing was meticulous, displaying a landscape painting. The old man put down his glass, slowly turning his head.

The focused gaze captivated Xu Ke, making him glance twice even though he didn’t understand art and couldn’t tell the painting’s quality.

Unlike the old man, others around had inexplicable desire on their faces, seemingly wanting to possess the painting.

Noticing this, Xu Ke kept his guard up.

Seizing the moment when no one noticed, he activated the Magic Eye to look at the painting, but with just one glance, he felt an illusion of an abyss staring back at him, the world spinning instantly, nearly stifling a groan.

He barely managed to look away, rubbing his forehead as cold sweat ran down from the top of his head.
