Supreme Heir Son-in-law-Chapter 1124 - 1123: Payment
"Park Jiahui, are you done or not!"
Xu Ke was exasperated, looking at the woman stuck to him like a leech. He shouted angrily.
"Not done! You bastard, you barely came back from the dead. If I don’t keep a close watch on you, who knows where you’ll end up dead again?"
Clinging to Xu Ke’s arm, she tightly wrapped it in her embrace, resting her head on his shoulder, speaking earnestly.
Xu Ke’s eyelids twitched involuntarily. The woman’s ample chest was so tightly pressed that it made his hand ache.
"Can’t we be a little more reserved? I am a married man, after all!"
"I don’t care. After all, whoever falls into my hands is just one slice away from death!"
"You..." Xu Ke sighed helplessly; he didn’t know how to respond to such talk.
"There are millions of men out there. Why do you keep pestering me?"
"But they’re not you! Anyway, I’m sticking with you from now on! If you dare to flirt with other women in front of me, I’ll kill them on the spot!" She said this without batting an eye.
Xu Ke was covered in black lines, forcefully pushing her away, glaring, "The man you set your eyes on is likely the unluckiest man in the world!"
"So, you’re very lucky!" Park Jiahui, oblivious to being disliked, said proudly.
Xu Ke rolled his eyes, utterly reluctant to deal with her. If he didn’t have so many questions, he might have already walked away.
"I want that incense burner you stole!"
"No problem, I can give you myself, let alone just an incense burner!" Without the slightest hesitation, Park Jiahui nodded immediately.
Xu Ke’s eyelids twitched, pretending not to hear the first part of her sentence, taking the key she handed over, then pondered for a while.
After a long pause, he lowered his voice, "How has the organization been doing now?"
"I’m not too sure. After you died—no, after you disappeared, I left. Without you, what’s the point of staying there?"
"And that bastard just let you go?" Xu Ke frowned. From what he knew about that bastard, he wouldn’t let his confidants off so easily.
Uprooting everything was that bastard’s usual style. Yet, he let this woman go, which was surprising.
"Though I look down on those guys, my charm is irresistible. If he even killed me, do you think he’d have a good time of it?"
"Can you stop being so narcissistic?" Xu Ke was practically speechless at her.
"I’m just stating a fact. Anyone else would’ve pounced on me in a heartbeat; only you would sit on the fence and do nothing!"
Xu Ke nearly choked on his spit, coughing several times before stabilizing himself, looking oddly at the woman for a long moment, but couldn’t think of anything suitable to say.
After a long stare, he took a deep breath, reminding himself to get used to it, get used to it!
Actually, if he didn’t know the woman too well, he wouldn’t have put up with this for so long.
After all, in the international underground world, this woman’s beauty was renowned, considered one of the Night’s Three Beauties.
Compared to her skills, her looks were more famous, and she naturally had an allure that, if not for his strong will, would’ve been too much.
And of course, only a few knew she was still innocent.
Precisely because of this, he dared not provoke her easily. The more significant something was, the more profound its implications when given.
He wasn’t ready to take responsibility for someone else, even now.
"Haven’t you heard anything else after that?"
"This circle is only so big. If you don’t hear anything, you can’t survive. Compared to when you were around, that guy has restrained himself quite a bit, but after your people were either dead or crippled, those remaining are few!"
"I knew it! That bastard was bound to do this!"
Xu Ke clenched his fists, a wave of anger filling his heart, but he restrained himself, forcibly suppressing it.
"With the higher-ups either dead or crippled, that guy has no option but to bide his time. However, I’ve heard that their activities have been concentrated around the Pacific Ocean recently, particularly within China. It seems quite a few people have been in contact with them!"
"China? Can you be more specific?"
Xu Ke’s expression darkened, recalling Mantis and Night Cat, as well as Shen Mi, and immediately followed up.
Park Jiahui, however, merely sneered, saying indifferently, "I’m not clear on the specifics. But since you’re also in China, you better be careful! But don’t worry too much; I’ll protect you!"
While speaking, she patted Xu Ke’s shoulder with an air of a big boss.
Xu Ke raised an eyebrow. He had regained almost thirty percent of his strength. If he still needed a woman to protect him, he might as well buy a block of tofu and bash himself to death! 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
"You don’t need to worry about my safety! I’ll take my leave once I finish my business. You carry on!"
"You heartless thing, taking advantage and then leaving!" She playfully cursed, then stood up with him, her lips curling up, continuing, "I was going to tell you something, but it seems you don’t want to hear it. So, forget it then!"
"What else haven’t you said?"
"Kiss me, and I’ll tell you!" Park Jiahui leaped forward, tilting her neck to approach Xu Ke’s face.
Xu Ke was covered in black lines, and turned to leave. Park Jiahui immediately panicked, blocking his way with frustration, "Alright, alright, I’ll take a step back, here..."
Saying this, she pulled out her phone, opened the screen, Xu Ke immediately leaned in, wanting to see what was on it.
Then, he was taken advantage of. The woman swiftly cupped his face, gave his lips a bite.
The strong aroma of alcohol nearly made Xu Ke pass out. He wiped his lips vigorously, quickly distancing himself from her.
"Since you’re shy, I had to take the initiative! In business, I believe in quid pro quo. I’ve received my reward, so I’ll tell you the information!"
Licking her lips, looking like she hadn’t had enough, she chuckled while opening her mouth.
"You know I always take jobs without worrying about buyers. This time, it’s the same. Someone suddenly contacted me to steal something. What’s strange is that the client initially didn’t specify what I should steal, only the location, and only yesterday told me the target!"
"So your client knew when the item would enter the museum?"
"It seems so! Originally, I had a more secure way. After all, having mixed with them for so long, I’d gained their trust. But last-minute, the client imposed a time limit; I had to succeed within an hour of your arrival!"
Upon hearing this, Xu Ke’s brows furrowed involuntarily.
