Supreme Heir Son-in-law-Chapter 1069 - 1068: The Mysterious Man in Black
Tangtang and Guoguo waited for ages, but the group outside showed no signs of leaving, intensifying the anxiety in their hearts.
The two young girls were trapped inside the dark factory, surrounded by unknown adults outside, inevitably feeling a wave of fear and subconsciously clasping each other’s hands.
Only then did they realize that their palms were filled with fine beads of sweat, yet they felt a chilling coolness seeping through.
For a moment, the two were about to burst into tears.
Struggling to endure the deathly silence, Tangtang turned her head and whispered in Guoguo’s ear.
"Why don’t we quietly sneak out?"
Guoguo was startled, almost jumped up, and glared at Tangtang, shaking her head, "I think we should hide here a bit longer, at least they haven’t found us yet."
"Until when?" Tangtang pouted. The factory was dark and old, not only could they hear the sound of old water pipes dripping, but also the rustling of rats, she was genuinely terrified.
Guoguo looked at Tangtang’s uneasy expression, firmly squeezed her hand, "Wait a little longer, don’t be afraid, I’m here with you."
Tangtang shook her head, aggrieved, "I’m not scared... I’m worried if they spread out later, they’ll surely find us, and then what if we can’t leave?"
"But..." Guoguo knew Tangtang was making sense, yet was troubled, "If we go out now, I’m afraid it’ll alert them. What if they’re just taking a break and leave later? Let’s wait a bit more, Xu Ke might come to get us soon."
Hearing this, Tangtang could only nod, anxiously hoping for Xu Ke’s arrival.
Guoguo noticed Tangtang falling silent, turned to carefully observe the uninvited guests through the cracks; they were all dressed in black, too far to see their features.
Judging by their behavior, they didn’t resemble Jiang City locals. At least Guoguo had never seen a group like them, making her heart feel even heavier.
What the sisters didn’t know was that their anticipated Xu Ke had arrived at the factory as they had hoped.
What he didn’t expect was for several corpses to be quietly lying in this dilapidated factory.
Alarm bells rang in Xu Ke’s heart, he cautiously proceeded along the wall towards the factory’s interior signaled his team to take light steps.
After a few steps, Xu Ke saw the black-clad men in the factory, paused immediately, squatted to check, and found neither Tangtang nor Guoguo among them, slightly easing his mind.
However, the absence of discovery didn’t mean the sisters were safe, particularly from these uninvited strangers; Xu Ke remained vigilant.
By observing their attire and behavior, Xu Ke could confirm they weren’t from Jiang City, sneaking into the city and setting up in an abandoned factory brought many suspicions. Furthermore, the corpses he saw inside confirmed these people weren’t benign.
Under such circumstances, every additional minute Tangtang and Guoguo spent in this factory increased their risk. Xu Ke didn’t want anything unfortunate to happen to them.
Signaling his assistant to fetch the factory’s layout, Xu Ke reluctantly realized these people were situated at the central point, and to rescue Tangtang and Guoguo, they had to go through them.
Xu Ke pondered for a bit, turned to quietly instruct his assistant, then patted his shoulder before disappearing into the shadows at the corner.
The assistant took a deep breath, recalling Xu Ke’s plan, walked toward the group of black-clad men with forced courage.
However, he hadn’t taken many steps before the black-clad men noticed him.
Seeing the patrolman raise his gun at him without hesitation, cold sweat streamed down the assistant’s cheek, and he promptly raised his hands.
After signaling that he was unarmed, the assistant turned around, loudly declaring, "Brothers, no offense intended, I’m just here to relay a message!"
The leader of the black-clad men gave a look, prompting someone to step forward and search the assistant thoroughly.
After inspection, the searcher announced no problems, and the leader hesitated before signaling his men to bring the assistant over.
The leader didn’t speak, only scanned the assistant with a cold gaze, making his knees shake, but he managed a forced smile.
"Brother, my boss asked me to negotiate with you, is it convenient for you?"
The leader coldly chuckled, "Why hesitate, I brought you over here to talk! Speak up!"
"And hey, who’s this brother of yours, watch your words!"
"Ah, yes, my mistake, apologies." The assistant wiped cold sweat off his forehead, lamenting internally.
"My boss says you and your brothers occupy this place, and we need it soon. Could you possibly relocate? Our boss can assist."
The leader spat, "This wrecked factory? Need it for important business? Who are you trying to fool?"
"This is true, the matter involves company secrets; it’s not convenient to disclose. But rest assured, if you give way, our boss will surely prepare a more comfortable venue for you all."
"Kid, do you think I’m easy to fool?"
The leader stood up, revealing his two-meter height, a burly figure.
The assistant watched this giant approaching step by step, feeling intense pressure, and his breathing involuntarily turned heavy.
The leader came before the assistant, lifting his chin with the dagger he was playing with, somberly asking, "We’ve barely settled, and your boss already claims we’re in his way. Who is your revered boss?"
"Well... My boss said he’s not convenient to come forward, so I’m fully authorized to handle this."
"Oh? So this powerful little brother, did you see anything unusual when you arrived?"
Remembering the gruesome corpses at the door, the assistant paled further but feigned ignorance, "What, what unusual thing?"
The leader burst out laughing, "Is your boss blind, sending a rookie like you who can’t lie to me?"
Then he flung the dagger heavily, waved, and immediately two subordinates came to drag the weakening-legged assistant away.
Eyes tightly shut, the assistant thought he might soon be accompanying those cold bodies at the door.
Despairing, he clawed at the arms holding him, shouting, "Help! Murder! Someone!"
