Supreme Heir Son-in-law-Chapter 1064 - 1063: Choked with Sobs
Father Su hurried to work, only bringing Mrs. Su into the house, glaring sharply at Xiao Wan for a moment before rushing off.
Actually, he just wanted to avoid the situation. The events of that year had hinted at something for him too, but he had always deceived himself. He hadn’t expected his first wife was still alive, and he needed some time to adapt.
"No need to force it, I’m quite used to being alone anyway." Mrs. Su smiled slightly at Suzhou, assuring him, then sat on the sofa, observing this home that didn’t belong to her.
There were no traces of her existence in this home.
"I just remembered, I have some other matters," Xiao Wan grabbed her bag, talking to herself: "I’ll head out now, you don’t need to wait for me to return." Silence fell around her, and no one responded.
The sound of high heels tapping away grew more distant, leaving Mrs. Su puzzled as she watched Xiao Wan, who seemed to be fleeing, a bit confused: It was clearly Xiao Wan who was the one who didn’t belong here.
"Mom, this is your home!" Suzhou looked around, frowning: "If you don’t like it, I’ll have someone refurbish it; if necessary, rebuild it so that no trace of that woman remains."
"Alright, Xiao Zhou knows how to care for mom best." Mrs. Su smiled gently, saying, "Seeing you again is already enough to make me happy. Let’s talk about the rest later; after all, at our age, we’re already getting old."
"I really have no energy left to cause more trouble."
Blindly, Xiao Wan walked down the street, her bag filled with money, unsure of where she should go: "A half-life ended in such a way!" The look in Father Su’s eyes when he left said it all.
"Oh right, there’s someone I can rely on! Yes!" Xiao Wan was like a water star grass floating on the river, suddenly finding direction, and she quickly hailed a taxi, soon arriving at Wang Chao’s residence.
She rang the bell but no one responded. Being a matter concerning her life now, she couldn’t care about maintaining her gentlewoman image and knocked on the door directly.
The "bang bang bang" sound echoed all around, yet there was no one inside.
"Wang Chao! I know you’re in there, come out!" Xiao Wan shouted loudly, her eyes bloodshot, clutching what would be her lifeline, determined never to let go.
Perhaps fed up with the noise, a neighbor poked their head out: "He’s not been here for quite some time now, miss, please stop knocking, the noise is too annoying."
"Not been here for quite some time?" Xiao Wan repeated the words, only then understanding, and she urgently asked, "Do you know where he went? How could he not be here? Where could he have gone?"
The neighbor looked at her with sympathy, shook her head, and muttered: "Can’t even speak clearly, probably another girl hurt by him." She closed the window, feeling empathetic, as who hadn’t been hurt when young?
Phone, phone! Xiao Wan called Wang Chao, but the words she heard left her even more despondent.
"I’ve been in Europe for a few days now, handle your own affairs! From now on, let’s pretend we don’t know each other, don’t contact me again!"
Holding the phone, Xiao Wan froze, tears streaming down as she touched her cheek. She crouched down in a secluded spot with her bag: "What should I do, what should I do, she actually came back, she definitely won’t let me live!"
Laughing at herself, she took out her phone to look at her own face; the face had once seduced him, but now it was old. Despite all these years, that man remained devoted to his wife! She hated it!
Xiao Wan laughed loudly, contemplating her life, realizing it meant nothing! Perhaps dying quickly was better, having gained nothing! 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"Yes, sooner or later I’ll die, I might as well end it myself, at least I’ll have some control!"
Determined, Xiao Wan went to buy sleeping pills, not wanting to die in filth even if she had to die.
"To the outskirts, driver." After a long inquiry from the driver, Xiao Wan finally responded.
Before long, they arrived at the destination. Xiao Wan handed over a hundred-yuan bill: "No need to give back change." Money was of no use to her now.
Ending her life by her own hand proved to be quite difficult. Sitting on the soft grass, she gazed at the endless stretch of green, reaching far until it vanished.
"Anyhow, I can’t live, might as well get it over with!" She grabbed the sleeping pills, without looking, biting off the lid, pouring them into her mouth and swallowing hard: "Finally, it’s over."
The wind gently brushed over the grass, softly treating all life.
Tangtang was merrily skipping ahead with a basket in her hand; she and Guoguo were going for a picnic, so happy! But she hadn’t gone far before she stumbled, sending the basket flying.
"Ouch, it hurts! Guoguo!" Tangtang stood up, complaining: "Why does another big rock appear? It hurts so much." Rising, she initially felt wronged, her eyes full of tears, but was suddenly overcome with horror.
Unconsciously stepping back, she sat down on the ground, pain ignored, and pointed at the person sprawled on the ground: "A co...corpse..."
"What? Why are you sitting on the floor?" Guoguo hurried up, first seeing Tangtang still on the ground, and reached to help her up, following her gaze was similarly shocked.
The two held onto each other tightly, seated on the ground, eyes full of fear: "Will we be killed to silence us?"
"No...probably not?" Guoguo trembled, glancing at the person lying there, thought she saw a small container: "Let’s go over and check, maybe they haven’t left yet?"
"I’m scared!" Tangtang shrank back but looked at Guoguo twice: "Let’s... go together!"
The two cautiously approached Xiao Wan, checking briefly, immediately exhaled in relief and quickly pulled out their phones.
"I’ll call; you keep watch." Guoguo picked up the phone to step aside to talk, reconsidered, and stayed with Tangtang to watch the person.
The ambulance arrived quickly; the corpse, no, the woman lying there had no relatives nearby, so Tangtang and Guoguo followed her to the hospital.
"Did we save someone?" Tangtang whispered to Guoguo; the nurse had said the woman wasn’t in any danger and would wake soon.
Guoguo was very proud: "Of course, we did great!"
Their eyes were filled with joy, having forgotten even the picnic; after all, rescuing a person, a life, was such a significant deed, how many times could one do that in a lifetime?
The person on the bed slightly moved her eyelashes, causing Tangtang and Guoguo to nervously hold their breath.
Xiao Wan stared at the white ceiling, eyes turning to scan the surroundings, she suddenly lifted her hand to cover her face, tears slipping through the gaps between her fingers, sobbing: "How...how did this happen?"
Tangtang and Guoguo exchanged a glance, perceiving the person on the bed was experiencing the joy of rebirth.
Her eyes were red and swollen, yet Xiao Wan couldn’t stop crying; could it be that she could only die under that woman’s hand? Even suicide wasn’t successful?
