Supreme Dragon Lord-Chapter 350 The Origin of the Fragment!
"If I hadn’t bluffed you, how would I have known what you were plotting?" Long Chen said, a playful smile touching his lips.
Yang Chen’s face was ashen, too angry to utter a single word. Yang Quan was no better; his expression was utterly foul. He had never imagined that the trap he had so carefully laid would not only fail to capture them but would also result in him being played for a fool. The thought was more than he could stomach.
"Do you know why Xuanyue Valley wants me dead?" Long Chen asked, sitting in his chair and staring indifferently at the father-son duo.
"It’s just because you offended them," Yang Quan said, forcing himself to remain calm. "Don’t think you can run rampant here just because you have some strength!"
Long Chen chuckled. "Xuanyue Valley has suffered at my hands several times. First, after the events in the Sacred Ruins Forbidden Land, I killed every single one of their Heaven’s Chosen. After that, they sent powerful experts to hunt me down, only to be killed by me in return.
"Most recently, I infiltrated Xuanyue Valley and burned their Treasure Pavilion to the ground. Not only did they fail to capture me, but I also walked away completely unscathed. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"Do you really think you can deal with me with these despicable, clumsy tricks of yours?"
Upon hearing Long Chen’s words, both Yang Quan’s and Yang Chen’s eyelids twitched violently. They stared at each other, seeing the raw fear in the other’s eyes. They knew he had offended Xuanyue Valley, but they never imagined he could make the valley suffer such major losses on two separate occasions. What was more frightening was that even a terrifying power like Xuanyue Valley was helpless against the young man before them.
THUMP! THUMP!
The realization terrified Yang Quan and Yang Chen to their core. They immediately dropped to their knees before Long Chen and his companions.
"Young Master, spare our lives!"
"We didn’t mean to offend you!"
"Please, Young Master, be magnanimous and forgive us for what we did!" Yang Quan pleaded with a trembling voice.
"Please let us go!" Yang Chen chimed in, also begging for mercy. "I’ll do anything you ask, just let us go!"
In response to their desperate pleas, Long Chen simply smiled faintly. His face was a cold mask as he said, "I can overlook what you just tried to do, but you must come clean about one thing."
Hearing that Long Chen might not hold it against them, a flicker of hope appeared in Yang Quan’s eyes. "What is it?" they asked hastily.
Long Chen took out the fragment he had obtained from the antique shop. "You have a piece like this, don’t you?" he asked coolly.
Yang Quan looked up at the fragment, a covetous urge stirring within him. He desperately wanted to take the piece from Long Chen’s hand for himself, but while he had the desire, he lacked the courage. To survive, he could only nod honestly. "That’s right. I do have a similar fragment. I can feel an extremely powerful energy Rune imprint within it, but it’s incomplete. I’ve been sending men to search for the other pieces."
"Where is it?" Long Chen pressed. "Hand it over."
"Alright, no problem!" Yang Quan agreed without hesitation. "I’ll go get it for you right now."
As he finished speaking, he started to get up.
BANG!
A powerful pressure instantly enveloped Yang Quan, slamming his knees back onto the hard ground.
CRACK!
A crisp snap of breaking bone echoed through the room.
"AHHH—" Yang Quan let out a scream like a pig being slaughtered.
Long Chen said indifferently, "I don’t recall giving you permission to stand."
"I..." Yang Quan was furious but dared not voice it. The intense, throbbing pain was unbearable, but he could only grit his teeth and endure. He didn’t dare complain in front of Long Chen.
This kid might be young, but he’s a murderous demon who kills without batting an eye! He’s terrifying!
"Have someone bring it here," Long Chen ordered flatly.
"Yes!" Yang Quan nodded, then called a man over, telling him where the fragment was stored and ordering him to retrieve it.
Afterward, both Yang Quan and Yang Chen knelt with their heads bowed, holding their breath. They dared not make the slightest move in Long Chen’s presence.
Soon, the man Yang Quan had dispatched returned.
"Did you bring it?" Yang Quan asked immediately.
"I have it!" the man replied. He bowed low and approached Long Chen, his hands trembling as he presented the fragment. "Young Master, this is what you requested!"
Long Chen took the fragment and glanced at it, feeling the pulse of energy within. Confirming it was what he sought, he revealed a satisfied smile and slowly placed it into his spatial ring.
Seeing the fragment put away, Yang Quan hurriedly spoke. "Young Master, I have given you the fragment as you wished. You should now fulfill your promise and let my son and me go! Let all grievances between us be wiped away!"
Long Chen didn’t reply. He simply stared at Yang Quan and asked coolly, "Where did you get this fragment?"
Yang Quan was an old fox. Seeing Long Chen ignore his request, his eyes darted around. He forced a sycophantic laugh and tried to bargain. "I can tell you everything, but you have to promise me first. As long as you let us go, I swear I’ll tell you everything I know, down to the last detail!"
"You’re bargaining with me?" Long Chen sneered. "Who do you think you are? You’re in no position to make deals."
With that, he shifted his gaze to Yang Chen. "Do you know?" he asked in a heavy tone.
Yang Chen’s expression turned guarded. At the same time, Yang Quan shot his son a look, signaling him not to speak freely. They had to maintain some leverage. He had already handed over the fragment as agreed, yet Long Chen showed no sign of letting them go. He had to take a risk and push for a guarantee. It might be their only chance of survival.
Although terrified of Long Chen, Yang Chen forced down his fear to save his own life. "If you don’t agree," he began, "I won’t tell you, even if I know. Not unless you let us go first..."
"It’s enough that you know."
Before Yang Chen could finish, Long Chen cut him off and struck out with his palm.
BANG!
A dull thud echoed in the room.
In an instant, Yang Quan’s head burst open like a watermelon.
