Supreme Devouring God-Chapter 1307: Ruins!
"Big brother!"
When Qin Chen rescued Little Panxia from the rotten cave at the river's bottom, Little Panxia, who had been holding back tears, finally broke down and threw herself into Qin Chen's embrace.
"It's all over..."
Qin Chen patted Little Panxia's back.
For someone of Little Panxia's age, she certainly had never experienced anything like this, being so close to death.
"How did you get captured by this water monster?"
Qin Chen immediately asked in confusion.
The strength of Ouyang Panxue is unquestionable, so how could this water monster manage to abduct Little Panxia right under Ouyang Panxue's nose?
"It's all my fault for being too playful. I went to the river to play with water, and suddenly a monster appeared, sweeping me into its belly, then it ran here in a flash," Little Panxia said.
Qin Chen then understood.
It turned out it was Little Panxia's own playful nature that caused this incident.
"Remember in the future, you must be cautious and alert in such dangerous places, got it?" Qin Chen said.
"Yes." Little Panxia nodded.
"Let's go, we need to find your sister; she's certainly very worried." Qin Chen said.
"Qin Chen, wait a moment." Little Fairy called out to Qin Chen.
"What's up?"
"There's something inside the water monster's lair, you should get it," Little Fairy said.
"Lair?" Qin Chen raised an eyebrow.
Using his telekinesis, Qin Chen scanned the filthy river cave at the bottom, but if possible, he really didn't want to enter.
"Wait on the shore for a bit," Qin Chen patted Little Panxia's head, then dove to the riverbed.
Elemental Power surrounded Qin Chen, isolating his body from the river water and the stench.
"What's in here?"
In the river cave, Qin Chen looked around; there were only scraps of green copper here, most of which had been soaked in river water for a long time and were hence dilapidated.
"Look beneath that pile of rotten green copper," Little Fairy said.
"Green copper?" Qin Chen raised an eyebrow.
Finding the green copper, Qin Chen discovered an ancient stone seal beneath the pile.
The stone seal felt incredibly heavy in his hand, about palm-sized, but weighing a thousand pounds.
"Is this what you meant?"
Qin Chen held the stone seal in his hands, inspecting it but didn't find anything peculiar.
"Haven't you felt the same aura from this item, as you did from the stele engraved with 'Red Dragon' you obtained from the Purple Lightning Flying Python's belly?"
"Hmm?" Qin Chen was startled upon hearing this.
Immediately, Qin Chen hurriedly retrieved the stele from the God Devouring Crystal.
Putting them together, Qin Chen instantly sensed the same aura.
"This stone seal seems unremarkable, but it is indeed very strange and is likely to have some significant function," Little Fairy said.
"The premise is to find out exactly where the 'Red Dragon' place is," Qin Chen pondered for a moment.
Without thinking much further, Qin Chen stored the stone seal in the God Devouring Crystal and then took Little Panxia to find Ouyang Panxue and Little Strange.
Before long, Qin Chen found both.
Seeing Little Panxia unharmed, Ouyang Panxue's face showed a relieved expression.
"Thank you," Ouyang Panxue's beautiful eyes looked at Qin Chen.
If Qin Chen hadn't found Little Panxia, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
Ouyang Panxue's gratitude came from the heart.
"Senior Sister Paanxue has helped me a lot; it's only right for me to do what I can." Qin Chen said with a smile.
Ouyang Panxue nodded and didn't say anything more.
She wasn't someone who liked to talk much, being adept in actions rather than words; she would remember gratitude, enmity, and affection in her heart.
"Do you have any plans, Senior Sister Paanxue, for your next target or destination?" Qin Chen asked.
Ouyang Panxue shook her head.
"Within Sky Blade Peak, there are plenty of opportunities, so it's necessary to explore randomly."
"If you don't mind, Senior Sister Paanxue, you could accompany me to a place; it's said there's a large ancient ruin discovered there."
"But what exactly is there, is not yet clear," Qin Chen said.
Ouyang Panxue raised an eyebrow, then nodded, "That would be good."
Qin Chen didn't hesitate anymore and led Ouyang Panxue straight towards the large ancient ruin Shen Jing mentioned earlier.
Although their initial position had changed, Qin Chen was still clear about the approximate location of the ruin.
...
Meanwhile.
On a vast expanse of old ruins, a large group of people had gathered.
This old ruin was extensive; once, it must have been a huge ancient city, an ancient building complex.
However, after the passage of time, this old ruin was evidently almost half dilapidated.
Most places had collapsed into ruins.
Only the center had a grand building.
Nonetheless, this building was surrounded by something akin to fortress walls, impassable.
At the forefront of this place, there was a small courtyard, and at the entrance, hung a wooden sign bearing the 'Red Dragon' inscription.
Behind the courtyard, a massive stone gate stood.
Anyone could tell the hefty weight of the stone gate at a glance.
Further more, there were five indentations carved into the door.
A large group stood before this small courtyard, without rash movements.
These people were all from the Twelve Families.
Wind Family Patriarch Feng Xiqing, Chang Family Master Chang Sijing, Shen Family Master Shen Changwen, Shen Jing and his sister, Cheng Family Patriarch Cheng Hangkong, and others were present.
This large ruin was discovered by a member of the Ye Family, but eventually, the news leaked, drawing all the Twelve Families.
Opportunities, especially big ones, naturally attract widespread attention.
The Twelve Families all wanted a share of this massive opportunity.
"We're still missing one key," said Cheng Family Patriarch Cheng Hangkong.
Earlier conflict with Qin Chen involved Cheng Yue, his son.
Though he had learned of his son's death, he was ignorant of the cause.
Upon hearing Cheng Hangkong's words, several gazes turned toward the five indentations on the Stone Gate Mountain.
The key to entry requires five keys to open the stone gate.
Currently, the Twelve Great Families had gathered four.
Only one was missing.
"Should we force our way in?" someone suggested.
"Are you stupid?!"
Instantly, that person's words were met with Chang Sijing's cold retort.
"This ruin was left by the Red Dragon Saber King, famed within the Great Origin Dynasty."
"During the Star Summoning Dynasty, Red Dragon Saber King was known to be among the powerful ones; relying on brute force to breach what he left behind is impossible."
The person earlier speaking, now looked embarrassed.
"What do we do now?" Feng Xiqing asked.
Just as Feng Xiqing asked, a group descended upon the location.
It was Qin Chen and company.
