After hearing the screams, Nox had quickly rushed over to the camp where the party was, and sure enough, they were currently being attacked by dozens of Scourge beasts.

He tightened his grasp on his greatsword and was about to charge in, but even before he could take a step forward, a screen glimmered before him.

[Ding! Your pet has died]

For a moment, he froze in place, momentarily forgetting the ongoing battle. He was so shocked and confused that he couldn't even utter a single word. Nox remained rooted to the spot despite the intense pain blazing through his body from losing a tamed companion.

He gritted his teeth as he felt the connection sever. His head thundered painfully, as if it were being repeatedly struck with a hammer.

"Watch out!"

Nox heard a voice shout behind him, but even before he moved, a beautiful little girl of about ten years appeared in front of him and slashed a radiant white sword at the dark Scourge dragon, decapitating it.

After killing the dragon, Lumi shook him while shouting, "Hey, wake up!"

But there was no reaction. He simply stared at the little girl's face—or so she thought. In reality, his entire attention was fixed on the bold red words in his periphery.

As the pain became slightly more bearable, Nox frowned deeply. 'How did it happen? He was a Legendary-tier beast. What could have killed him so easily?'

It just didn't make sense. He didn't think it was the Scourge dragons either. Before leaving, he had noticed that despite their numbers, most of the corrupted beasts attacking were below the King-tier.

Not even a hundred King-tier beasts could bring down a Legendary-tier dragon—especially not one as experienced and powerful as the Frost Elder, who, despite being overwhelmed by Dracos in their last fight, had displayed impressive resilience.

Then suddenly, a light bulb clicked in Nox's mind as he recalled his last conversation with the elder dragon.

"He had said he was suspicious of the Supreme Leader." His eyes narrowed. "Could it be that he confronted him… and was somehow killed?"

Just then, Nox snapped out of his trance-like state due to the intense fighting raging on in front of him. Lumi was battling two corrupted dragons at once.

He swept his gaze around, noticing the fight had escalated during the short time he was frozen. Over a hundred corrupted drakes were attacking them.

Elise roared furiously, her wings flaring out and bathing the battlefield in red flames. The ground sizzled beneath her as she inhaled deeply and breathed out a wide cone of infernal fire, reducing three dragons mid-flight to cinders.

"Valkor, now!" she shouted.

The crimson-scaled Valkor spun without hesitation, slamming his claw into a reeling Scourge and knocking it into the air—right into Elise's jaws. She caught it midair and crushed its skull with a violent snap.

Raziel, the Lightning Drake, had transformed parts of his body and was engaging two flying dragons. He fired a bolt of concentrated lightning that seared through a Scourge beast, then followed up by diving his transformed dragon fist into the skull of another corrupted beast, sending it crashing to the ground.

BOOM!

His wings crackled with electricity. Several bolts sparked along his arms as he gathered energy between his palms.

"Thunder Net!"

He hurled the condensed lightning down like a net, electrocuting a cluster of beasts attempting to flank the group. Their screams were muffled by the surging current, their limbs convulsing before dropping like stones.

Nyxirith, with a sharp hiss, slashed through the neck of a Scourge drake lunging at one of her injured teammates. Before its corpse even hit the ground, she vanished into the darkness, only to reappear moments later behind another enemy, sinking her claws into its spine and tearing it apart.

Nox didn't move yet. He was still assessing the situation. Once he got a good grasp of everything, he finally stepped forward.

Even though his system was currently unavailable, his stats were not restricted—they were physical stats. With over 200 points in Strength and Agility, Nox was physically stronger and faster than everyone present.

BOOM!

As he moved, a loud boom followed. The soil beneath his feet exploded into fragments, shooting a cloud of dust into the air. Everyone's attention was momentarily drawn to the spot, but all they saw was dust.

Their leader was nowhere to be found.

"Fuck, did that bastard run awa—" Before Galen, the Wind Prince, could finish his words, they heard a sharp swoosh in the air.

Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!

As if they were synchronized machines, every head jerked in that direction.

Nox stood there—and at his feet were the heads of five Scourge dragons. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

"He… what the fuck!" Galen was the first to break the silence. "Did he just kill five dragons at once?"

Celestis Valore's eyes flashed with admiration—and a trace of lust. "It seems so."

Raziel paused mid-air, eyes gleaming strangely.

Although Nox had won the Kingdom Tournament, the Lightning Prince was one of the few who didn't believe in his strength. Lightning dragons were proud; they believed their element to be the most powerful in the entire Dragon Realm.

If someone asked him who would win in a fight between him and Valkor, the prince wouldn't hesitate to pick himself.

But… after witnessing Nox effortlessly kill five beasts in a single strike, the Lightning Prince felt a cold shiver run down his spine.

Valkor, who had been engrossed in his fight, also stared at the scene. At first, a look of shock flashed across his face, but it was quickly replaced with disdain. He clicked his tongue and returned to battle.

Elise, however, couldn't look away. She continued watching without blinking.

Nox shook the dark blood off his greatsword, which glowed with a faint bluish light. Though he hadn't known the Frost Elder for long or bonded with him like his other pets, the dragon had still been his.

His eyes blazed with anger—so intense that the others had to take a few steps back.

"What's wrong with him?"

"This aura… it's so intense…"

Nearby, a Scourge Champion slowly raised its head, staring in the direction the overwhelming aura was coming from.

At the same time, Nox charged forward.

He had found the perfect creature to vent his rage on.
