Nox only stared at the system screen for a little while before ignoring it and moving to the large arched windows at the side.

He pushed the windows open, and light, accompanied by the frigid winds of Frostpire, bathed him. However, this did not ease his worries at all, even though he could see the netizens moving about their day.

While he was watching, the door to his room suddenly creaked open, and Drake Frostpire walked in. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

"You finally woke up," Drake smiled as soon as he saw him.

"What year is this?" Nox asked hurriedly, even before Drake could speak another word.

Drake tilted his head to the side, his eyes narrowing in confusion. "You've only been asleep for two days, bro," he said a moment later, walking into the room to open the other windows so the morning light could stream in.

"Just two days..." Nox held his chest, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. If he had truly slept for even a month, he would have been really pissed with himself.

Afterward, he proceeded to the huge bathroom, which was even larger than the chambers. In the middle, there was shimmering blue crystalline water. He moved to the edge, noting that he didn't feel pale anymore. His skin had regained its natural glow.

But...

He narrowed his eyes. "Who cleaned me up?"

"Oh, that." Drake, who was behind him, laughed mischievously as he remembered the scene where Zara was about to kiss Nox. After a while, he spoke. "It was Zara."

Outside the large bathroom chambers, Zara held her chest as she let out a heavy breath of relief. She had come to check on him as usual, only to find he was not in bed.

She panicked slightly. After all, the castle currently had a lot of visitors. Fortunately, just then, she heard voices coming from the door a few moments later.

"That bastard. I can feel it. He was about to say it right then," she gritted her teeth and clenched her fist, her blue eyes almost carving a hole through the door.

After a while, she turned on her heels and tiptoed out of the room. Now that he was awake, she didn't have the courage to face him.

Meanwhile, back inside, Drake suddenly felt that his life was in danger and swept his gaze around.

"How thoughtful of her," Nox's voice snapped his attention back.

"Yeah, she's very thoughtful," Drake laughed, but this time, Nox noticed something was off.

"Is there something you're not telling me?"

"Oh, nothing! Have a nice bath!" he said hurriedly, rushing out of the room and slamming the door behind him.

Nox stared at the closed door for a while. He could easily tell Drake was definitely hiding something. Shaking the thought off, he stripped naked and jumped into the water.

He didn't swim, simply enjoying the embrace of the cold water. Not only did it provide comfort, but it also gave him clarity to think about his next step.

His current goal was to deal with the Scourge Beast as soon as possible and return to Vermilion Kingdom. He had a nagging feeling that something was terribly wrong but couldn't quite wrap his head around it.

He had been having that feeling for quite a while now. It was one of the reasons he had hunted for seven days straight with little rest. He didn't want to be caught off guard upon returning.

He had killed multiple nobles and a High Priest before coming here. Naturally, he knew the noble houses wouldn't let him go easily and would hunt him as soon as he returned. Fortunately, he came across the Scourge Beast, which gave an abnormal amount of experience points.

Without them, it would have taken years to reach Level 100. Now, he felt more confident in his strength.

And with the accumulated Scourge Spirit Dragons, he could only laugh at those who dared to be his enemies.

"In a sense, I'm the youngest Expert Rank. It'll be quite the shocker." He smiled. "Right, talking about strength..."

Nox suddenly pulled up the screen he had been avoiding.

"Should I proceed with the evolution now?" he mumbled to himself, recalling that last time, even though it hadn't taken years, it still took several hours. Now, with three available evolutions, he was certain it would take days.

If that happened, he'd have no choice but to rely on his Oblivion Edge and his pets, as he still had access to the Taming Space.

While his pets could be useful, this was a double-edged sword. If he encountered a powerful threat and his pets weren't close by, he might find himself in a very precarious situation.

"System, how long will the evolutions take?" he asked.

"You'll only be able to see the time once you initiate the evolution process."

"Tsk, very useful." Nox clicked his tongue. He swam a bit more, and as he did, his bones creaked from the long disuse, though it was oddly satisfying.

After swimming for a while, he slowly stepped out of the pool, the water rolling off his toned physique, which was now stronger than ever.

He contemplated for a while and decided to select "Yes" for the evolution. A countdown immediately appeared in his line of sight.

"Six days... almost a week." He frowned in displeasure. Realizing he'd need more weapons, he began to leave the room.

Some time later, he walked down the long corridors of the royal castle. He didn't really know where he was going. Even though he'd been there for a while, it was easy to get lost if one wasn't careful. He was about to ask one of the servants when he stumbled across Zara.

He smiled.

Zara's expression turned dark.
