Superhumans of the Dome City-Chapter 1396 - 12: Arrogance Unleashed (Part 1)
"Can’t understand. Can’t get it. You’ve studied all those sages’ books and can’t even understand a dog’s barking. And the dog can’t make sense of the nonsense coming out of your mouth." The young man in black glanced at him sideways, sneering, "You call yourself a coach? What are you teaching here at the Imperial Academy? Is your job to teach these young people how to be good dogs?"
Fang Qin was momentarily stunned, then overjoyed. He knew he had caught a big fish, with witnesses and evidence all in hand. The other party had handed him ready material for a citation: disrupting order, speaking wildly, showing no respect for authority. He would have endless excuses to accuse, and the bigwigs might laugh out loud at night!
He quickly put on a serious face and said, "Students, take a good look. The coach’s attitude was a bit impulsive just now, but he absolutely did not say such wild words. These statements were all made by this person alone—"
However, he was too complacent, too arrogant, failing to notice the delight in the students’ eyes, nor the man’s actions. Yan Qi didn’t even bother to acknowledge him, chuckling coldly as he took out a brush, waving it a few times: "Pity that a waste is a waste; not even able to teach people how to be a good dog. Fortunately, I have time today to teach you how to be one."
He retrieved the pen and commanded leisurely, "Squat."
Fang Qin instantly squatted down, pressing his hands tightly against the dusty ground, looking comically like a stray dog. He was so terrified he almost screamed because, at that moment, he lost control over his body! He couldn’t stand up, nor move his hands. He opened his mouth wide to roar at Yan Qi with Lion Roar to indict him. However, the strength cultivated for ten years turned into a tone of terror:
"Woof! Woof woof! Woof!!"
The outer sect students burst into laughter, and Coach Xu beside them was so shocked he fell to the ground. He clearly saw Yan Qi writing the character "大" (big) on the ground, and Fang Qin stood at the upper right corner of the "大," transforming it into a "犬" (dog)!
What kind of trick is this? Is this the Impermanence Skill? How can there be such bizarre spells?!
Coach Xu scrambled up, saying nothing, running desperately out the Imperial Academy gate. Yan Qi ignored such a character, looking up and shouting, "Fatty, come over!"
"What is it?" Liu Zhongwu came with a smile.
Yan Qi pointed with his chin at Fang Qin on the ground: "Calculate how many years this Coach Fang has served in the military and what great merits he has achieved."
On hearing this, Fang Qin’s face turned ashen, and Liu Zhongwu calculated with his fingers, leisurely saying, "Coach Fang is thirty-seven this year, thanks to his parents who gifted gold and silver allowing him to enter the Left and Right Guards, never lacking in entertaining his superiors with gifts. Occasionally taking some fruits, vegetables, grains, and fabric from the Guards to ease the hardship of work. In nineteen years of service, not even a small achievement, his record is as clear as water."
The laughter of the students almost blew the leaves into the sky. Yan Qi walked behind Fang Qin, kicked him fiercely, sending this innocent coach flying off the field, through the ancient school buildings, through the pine and cypress shadows, directly out of the Imperial Academy’s main entrance.
Yan Qi spat hard in the direction where the man rolled out, while the outer sect students looked at him almost reverently. He didn’t even glance at those students, only coldly saying, "Remember well. Reading so many books, learning so much, it’s not for you all to become dogs!"
At this moment, dust was flying not far away, and the coaches arriving at the Imperial Academy were rushing over. The chief coach exercised True Qi, glaring and shouting, "Ignoring the law, acting recklessly! As students of the Imperial Academy, you dare defy orders, attacking the guards of the Imperial Capital Left and Right Guards so openly, you audacious people have made a big mistake today, and you’ll all be punished for multiple offenses—"
The chief coach’s words hadn’t finished when a gray-haired youth blocked the coaches’ path. He smiled at the burly coach, raising his hand and snapping his fingers crisply.
Snap!
Burning cracks appeared out of nowhere, and iron-gray arms reached out, tearing the crack open, revealing the ferocious head of the Heavenly Demon behind it. The demon had two horns, three eyes, and golden irises like hellfire burning. All the coaches were so terrified by the terrifying Demon God that their previous anger completely vanished into oblivion.
The Heavenly Demon’s breath was scorching, and its roar thunderous: "Get out!"
Ferocious winds followed the shout, and the coaches screamed and flew backward, rolling out of the Imperial Academy’s main gate like tumbleweed!
Gongsun Ce retracted the Demon God, looking as delighted as a heavy smoker finally getting a cigarette. Yan Qi turned towards him, speaking sarcastically: "What does this matter to you?"
Gongsun Ce pushed up his glasses: "I’m a bit eccentric and always like peace and quiet, most annoyed by bothersome noises. Seeing this getting out of hand, if I don’t get them to roll, should I be the one to roll instead?"
Yan Qi was stunned, then burst into laughter. Beside them, a crew-cut student was red-faced with excitement but worriedly said, "Senior, this move is a bit reckless. These coaches themselves are nothing, but they are associated with Yao Guang Guards. If this conflict escalates, it will be difficult for everyone!"
Gongsun Ce glared: "These wretches are Yao Guang Guards? Do you think it’s possible?"
Yao Guang Guards were the Divine Capital’s elite imperial guards, whom Gongsun Ce came across on his first night in the city, led by Duke Wu Qin An as the Great General, and coached by Qin family members themselves. They were top-tier soldiers and the face of the Red Emperor’s Imperial Family. Hurting them meant publicly disregarding the capital’s authority, so these students naturally had to endure.
One of the outer sect students replied, "Senior, you probably don’t know that only Yao Guang Guards are eligible to conduct military training at the academy, and these coaches all have Yao Guang Tokens..."
Yan Qi couldn’t be bothered with such nonsense, turning around and shouted, "Situ, come out and work!"
Situ Yi appeared out of nowhere, followed by the terrified Coach Xu. Smiling, he moved his fingers, manipulating silk threads that made Coach Xu stand straight like a puppet. Indeed, there was a Yao Guang Guard’s token at his waist.
"May I ask where this officer is employed?" Situ Yi asked.
Coach Xu’s voice was loud: "I am the Deputy Officer of the Divine Capital’s Left and Right Guards!"
"Such a great authority!" Situ Yi exclaimed, "Clearly, you’re from the Left and Right Guards, how did you become a coach for Yao Guang Guards?"
Coach Xu puffed up his chest: "It was ordered personally by Registrar Hu Buping, who said the Yao Guang Guards were busy, so he entrusted us to discipline the misbehaving ones at the academy!"
Situ Yi retrieved the silk threads and smiled at everyone: "That’s how it is, this and that~"
Coach Xu was scared out of his wits, and the students realized they’d been deceived, fury burning in their eyes. Gongsun Ce asked Liu Zhongwu curiously: "Wow! Do you think such a significant matter as the academy’s military training, which even the emperor oversees, can be outsourced?"
Liu Zhongwu played along: "This matter is incredibly strange, there must be something fishy. In my opinion..."
"What the hell, just bind that guy named Hu and ask him!"
Yan Qi waved his hand, walking straight towards the academy’s gate. At this moment, the sound of hooves and high-pitched noises echoed endlessly outside the campus, with dust swirling in the street. A group of cavalry, having received the coaches’ alarm, rushed to arrest the law-breaking rebels. Qin Ming squatted on the academy wall, watching the commotion with interest, holding a candied hawthorn. Seeing everyone heading out, he asked eagerly: "What’s going on?"
Gongsun Ce thought for a moment and said: "Going out to fight, coming along?"
Qin Ming jumped down, grinning ear to ear: "Sure!"
