STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 62: Calculations
Class:
Jeremy Night sighed inwardly. Since the recruitment process was still ongoing, he couldn’t do anything about it.
"Alright, what about you?"
"Did you practice the Inner Healing Method?" Instructor Jacob asked. He was more interested in knowing that.
Jeremy didn’t hide it; he told him about his experience. For the time being, it appeared he couldn’t save the natural energy in the mental zone.
The Starlight energy filled the space.
Jacob’s eyes narrowed. He was happy that the breathing method was working, but it was not up to the extent they had expected.
If Jeremy couldn’t store the energy, at least he could run the energy throughout his body to strengthen himself. Jeremy could switch to a better method if he got the opportunity in the future.
Then they spoke for a few minutes before Jacob started explaining the corrupted beasts in the surrounding region of City A.
Time passed.
After the class, Jacob left, and Jeremy was left all alone in the classroom. Instead of sitting and wasting time there, Jeremy decided to go to the library and search for information regarding various natural resources.
He stood up and locked the door of the classroom before leaving.
About 10 minutes later,
He arrived at the library. He then walked towards the screen to browse books. Jeremy searched for natural energy resources that could benefit the Beast Tamers.
The next moment, a couple of books appeared. Jeremy took note of the book titles and sections. He then moved toward the section to pick those books.
Meanwhile,
The news of Jeremy Night’s return was posted online by someone. It immediately reached the ears of Petra Ross and Levy Glass as well.
They had obviously been paying attention to Jeremy’s whereabouts earlier. Knowing of his return, they didn’t know what to do.
Currently, Jeremy Night’s popularity was on par with the S-Graders. The first-year students were aware of Jeremy’s strength, including the Department Representative.
Apart from the two S-Graders, no one had any opposing thoughts toward Jeremy Night.
But the second, third, and fourth years were different. Some of the Beast Tamers in the senior years were being supported by wealthy families.
The redevelopment of the new department was detrimental to other departments because the new department would eat away at their share of resources as well.
So, people behind the scenes were dissatisfied. But the first-year Department Instructors wouldn’t be able to do anything.
Because both the Striker Department’s Instructors and Representative were strong. On top of that, Dean Carolyn stood behind them as well.
At first, there was no problem, but these wealthy families were able to confirm that the Striker Department was going to have additional members in a few days.
If it was Jeremy Night alone, no one would have bothered. But the addition of new members would eventually equal the strength of other departments as well.
Some of the senior students were dissatisfied. They were looking for people in the first year who could be useful to them. But unfortunately, no first-year Beast Tamers came forward.
The news of Jeremy Night’s killing of Tier-3 Corrupted Beasts was clear to them. They were present when the decapitated head of the Tier-3 Ground Snake was revealed.
It was a strong memory that wouldn’t be forgotten easily.
As time passed, the people in the library noticed the presence of Jeremy Night, especially the first-year students. Strong Beast Tamers were always respected everywhere they went.
It’s the same at the University, despite everyone being fellow students. They began to compare Jeremy’s talent to that of the two S-Graders.
Meanwhile,
In the second-year Attack Department Building, a group of people was discussing Jeremy Night.
"We have been asking for people who can be helpful to us, but no one has responded so far," a young man in a black outfit commented.
"What was the name again?"
"Striker Department!"
"I don’t know why the higher-ups are pissed off about this development."
"That first year student is under the limelight. It’s risky to trouble him."
The warriors discussed among themselves.
"Why don’t we talk to him directly?"
"Then we can convince him to go for the outside hunt."

"We can teach him a good lesson outside. There will be no one to monitor us," a female Beast Tamer said all of a sudden.
Hearing that, everyone felt that idea was good. But who would convince him?
These Attack Department Beast Tamers were ordered by their families to hinder the Striker Department’s development. Their families couldn’t take any action.
Because the Dean herself was supporting the Striker Department. These Beast Tamers could only think of an idea to help themselves.
"I heard Jeremy Night comes from a good background, but he still goes on missions to earn resources. Why don’t we set up a treasure to lure him outside?" another Beast Tamer suggested.
Hearing that, everyone’s faces lit up. Finally, someone had made a correct suggestion.
"Alright, we can ask our first-year Attack Department Beast Tamers to get close to Jeremy Night first. After making arrangements, we can ask them to lure him out."
"More importantly, the treasure should be tempting to body-type talents. Otherwise, there is less possibility that he would come."
"Good. Since our families have ordered us, we can ask them to buy a suitable treasure."
The second-year students from the Attack Department had hatched a good plan. Even without Jeremy’s knowledge, plans to hinder the development of the Striker Department were underway.
A few people in the second-year Attack Department were not the only ones thinking about this. Quietly, some serious third- and fourth-year students were paying attention to this matter.
It’s just that everyone wanted to do it without attracting Dean Carolyn’s attention. But when it came to the real top families, they didn’t care about this matter.
For example, the Heath and Knox families were aware of Jeremy Night’s confidential status. The last thing they wanted to do was to offend the Human Alliance.
It was just the next tier of wealthy families making these calculations.
