Chapter 75: The Real Murderer -1

Rivana turned around, her eyes fixed on the door. A sigh escaped her lips. He was finally here!

Azrael walked inside, his aura commanding and strong. His presence filled the room, exuding an air of authority and confidence. His sharp eyes scanned the room, and his posture was straight and unwavering, making it clear that he was in control.

Even Rafaelo couldn’t help but feel a little anxious. The hair on his spine seemed to raise, and he clenched his fist, trying to calm himself down. Callum’s delighted expression behind Azrael didn’t help but made him more anxious.

"Thank god!" Leonora heaved a sigh of relief. As they neared, she quickly approached Callum and grumbled, "What took you guys so long?"

Callum didn’t care to answer, his ignorance frustrated Leonora even more. She scoffed and moved a little away from him, crossing her arms. She was hating this guy more and more!

Azrael moved over to Rivana, holding her hand and asking, "Are you alright?"

Rivana nodded with a smile. Azrael then turned to Rafaelo, who was sitting on the chair.

"Glad to see you, Mr. Dynar," Rafaelo greeted him. "You came at the right time." Turning to Rivana, he continued, "Your puppy wife would be kneeling before me."

"And if she doesn’t?" Azrael challenged him, his calm expression making Rafaelo annoyed.

Rafaelo gritted his teeth at Azrael’s confidence and threatened, "The video will be uploaded on the internet."

Azrael’s lips curled into a smirk. He looked into Rafaelo’s eyes and replied, "Do it."

Azrael’s confidence unsettled Rafaelo. His reaction was a mix of confusion and frustration. "Looks like she hasn’t told you yet, Mr. Dynar. She—"

"Murdered someone?" Azrael finished his sentence, lifting his brow. When Rafaelo nodded, Azrael laughed out loud. The menacing sound echoed in the room, and for a split second, even Rivana got scared. It seemed like some devil had possessed her husband, and she wondered if this was his other ego.

"Tch, tch," Azrael clicked his tongue. Placing his hand in his pocket, he looked at Rafaelo and continued, "Do you think I would be pissed at her? For killing a rat?"

"Wah, he is so..." Leonora gasped out loud, unable to express her shock or describe Azrael. That’s when she realized he ruled the underworld, and people dubbed him as the devil from hell. Killing must be his favorite pastime.

Rafaelo was at a loss for words, too. If it had been a sane person, preferably someone like Viktor, whom Rivana was supposed to marry, he would have slapped and discarded her immediately. But this man dismissed it as if she had killed a rat. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"But yeah," Azrael glanced at Rivana and added, "I would have been mad if she hadn’t killed him."

Leonora agreed with him. She had seen the upsetting video, having helped Rivana delete it a few years ago. But Rafaelo’s new assistant had a different reaction. Here people were talking about killing and gore stuff. No, he hadn’t agreed to get involved with such dangerous people.

Turning to Rafaelo, Azrael’s expression darkened, and he murmured, "That scum sure had an easy death. You should have chopped him into pieces instead of running the car over him."

Rivana frowned at his words. She looked up at him and then back at Rafaelo. Running the car over him? She didn’t understand his words. Rafaelo had told their dad that they had pushed his car into a tree and made everything look like he died in an accident. Even Sebastian had confirmed it with her, assuring her she need not worry about anything and forget it as a nightmare.

"Wh-what nonsense are you spouting?" Rafaelo barked at Azrael. He got up from his seat, looking pissed, but his voice was slightly trembling. Turning to Rivana, he added, "I helped her by getting rid of Xander. And you are accusing me of killing him?"

"My boss never mentioned you killed him, Buffaloe," Callum stated the fact. Realizing he had spoken from his heart, he quickly corrected, "I mean Rafaelo."

"Pfft. I am sorry!" Leonora broke into laughter. At least he knew how to crack jokes, she thought, looking at Callum. But since everyone else didn’t laugh, she quickly turned serious as it didn’t seem like a joke but just a slip of the tongue.

"And we weren’t expecting you to turn in this easily," Callum added with a smirk. When Azrael asked to dig further, something was off. Rivana had only hit Xander once, and considering how she was weak and vulnerable, trying to push him away, he assumed that she didn’t hit him that hard to the point of killing him.

When they caught some of Rafaelo’s old friends, mainly ones who were well involved in fabricating the accident, they found some shocking revelations.

"Turn in?" Rafaelo scoffed out loud. Pointing his finger at Rivana, he continued, "She should be the one turning in! She killed him!"

Azrael took a step forward and smirked. "If she killed him, then why is your finger trembling? Did you sniff too much last night?" he questioned. Rafaelo’s eyes widened in shock, slowly realizing he had fallen into their trap. Azrael grabbed his finger and twisted it, causing him to come out of his thoughts and cry in pain.

"Leave me, you!" Rafaelo’s words turned into a cry again. Azrael showed no mercy and bent his index finger until it met the back of his hand.

"Woah! He is so damn cool!" Leonora couldn’t help but compliment Azrael. She watched Rafaelo suffering, and Azrael wasn’t letting him go that easily.

Crack

Everyone pretty much realized his bone was cracked. Rafaelo continued to cry and whine, tears almost forming in the corner of his eyes. Azrael finally released his finger, wiped his hand, and took a step back.

"You-" Rafaelo cried out loud, shaking his hand and whining in pain.

His emotions were a mix of pain, anger, and overwhelming anxiety. Though his mother had warned him not to go, he decided to sneak out since his old friend wanted to meet. He thought of celebrating his victory, thinking Rivana would hand over everything. But now, with how confident Azrael was and hellbent on protecting his wife, it seemed like he had dug his own grave.

Azrael walked even closer, causing Rafaelo to retract back in fear. He almost hit his assistant, who tried to hide behind him rather than protect him. Hell! He might just take the devil’s side to save his life.

Azrael pulled a chair and moved toward Rivana. Glancing at her, he commanded, "Sit."

Rivana, still in a daze, trying to put all the pieces of this puzzle together, nodded and settled on the chair. Azrael made sure she was comfortable. He even grabbed a bottle of water from the table, opened it, and passed it to her. Rivana accepted it and took a few sips, trying to muster herself for whatever worse was yet to happen.

Leonora couldn’t stop herself from going "aww" at his actions. Yeah, he might be a devil, but for his wife, he acted like a total henpecked husband. She loved to see her best friend getting treated in the way she deserved. But Callum didn’t share the same reaction and only grew more frustrated that Azrael wasn’t finishing his prank with Rafaelo.

"Should I play the video, boss?" Callum asked, impatient. At Azrael’s nod, he quickly walked over to the other end of the room and connected his laptop to the screen.

Everyone turned around to observe as a video started to play out.

It seemed like it was from a private lounge of a club. Rivana quickly recognized it. It was Rafaelo’s secret haven, one she had discovered and informed their father about. A few guys came into the picture before the video focused on Rafaelo.

He was leaning back on the couch, totally lost and drowned in drugs. A woman leaned closer and made him drink something, bringing a smile to his lips.

"Stop this! What nonsense are you playing?" Rafaelo stammered. When he tried to move, Azrael looked at Rafaelo’s assistant, his order clear.

The assistant nodded and held Rafaelo tightly, stopping him from running away. Azrael was his new boss!

"Leave me, idiot!" Rafaelo grumbled, but the assistant shook his head, pinning him in place.

"So, you were the mastermind behind all of it?" the woman in the video asked, and everyone’s attention was back on the screen.

"Of course!" Rafaelo smirked smugly. "That stupid Rivana believed she killed him." He laughed out loud and continued, "You guys should have seen her earlier this morning. She whimpered like a puppy hearing just Xander’s name."

Rivana creased her brow, leaning forward to hear the video more clearly. The guys with Rafaelo laughed out loud.

"So what did you do that day?" the woman asked again. She jumped on his lap and murmured coyly, "Tell me! Tell me! I am excited."

Rafaelo fell for her act and started, "Xander was very much alive. He even got back to his senses. But if he got better, I wouldn’t have had the chance to turn that bitch into my puppet." Snickering, he added, "So I killed him."
