Stolen By My Billionaire Brother-In-Law-Chapter 56: Favorite Food
Rivana’s mind whirled with confusion and disbelief. Her father’s words on the paper felt foreign, almost unreal. She had never known Emmerich to be anything but cold and distant. The idea that he might have cared in his way was hard to grasp.
With trembling hands, she continued reading the letter. Azrael leaned in, skimming through the contents with her.
[Yes, I know you are very confused right now. And might be thinking someone had messed up with this letter. I can understand it as I have never once been nice to you, like how a father should treat his daughter.]
"This is so complicated," Rivana murmured, feeling her head throb in confusion. The fact that Emmerich acknowledged he had never been a good father and yet entrusted all the rights to her was unbelievable.
"Let’s read it sometime later," Azrael murmured, and Rivana nodded in response.
Taking the letter, he folded it and set it aside. Azrael wrapped his arm around her and pulled her into a side hug. Rivana rested her head on his shoulder, finding comfort in his presence.
"I might get busier than you in the coming days," Rivana murmured with a pout. Just the thought of handling not just Shadow but the entire Faye Group was daunting. But what was even more frustrating was not being able to spend time with him. They had just gotten closer, but fate seemed determined to separate them as if they were never meant to be this close.
Azrael sighed softly and replied, "I will work from your office." Since all his meetings were virtual and Ezekiel was still against the idea of moving the main headquarters here, this was the only way out.
Rivana chuckled and looked at him, but his expression didn’t seem like he was joking. "Nah, you are not allowed to be around me when I am working," she said, shaking her head.
"Why? Are you afraid you won’t be able to focus on your work?" he teased, nuzzling her nose with his.
"No, it’s the other way around." Tracing his lower lip, she looked at him and playfully smiled, "I’m afraid you won’t be able to focus with me around."
Azrael smirked, agreeing with her. "True," he said, pinning her to the bed. With a sly smirk, he added, "So, let’s make up for the time we have to be apart now."
Before Rivana could react, Azrael captured her lips in a kiss.
Rivana closed her eyes and cupped his cheek, the hot sensations spreading throughout her body. Azrael kissed her as though she were the only thing he needed to survive. He lifted her chin and deepened the kiss, his other hand reaching for hers on the pillow, their fingers entwining tightly.
Azrael explored her lips as if they were his favorite thing to taste, teasing and setting her entire body on fire. Rivana freed her hand from his grip and held his nape, pulling him closer until their bodies pressed against each other. Their breaths mingled as they kissed possessively, without holding themselves back.
When Azrael finally pulled back, both of them were panting, their chests rising and falling in synchrony. His eyes bore into hers, dark with desire. Rivana’s cheeks flushed under his intense gaze, her breath still coming in ragged pants.
Before she could relax, he claimed her lips again, this time in a slow kiss. The heat coursing through her body settled between her legs, leaving her aching, desperate for something more than a kiss. He sucked and nibbled her lips, his every move slow and deliberate, making her toes curl up.
Rivana’s hands roamed down his back, slipping beneath his loose tee. Her fingers moved against his warm skin, tracing the hard lines of his muscles. The ache between her legs grew more intense as she pulled him closer, yearning to feel every inch of his body against hers.
Azrael’s hands began their exploration, his lips keeping her distracted. He moved down to her sides, caressing her beautiful curves that fit perfectly in his palms. His fingers skimmed the waistband, lingering there, trying to restrain himself. But when her nails dug into his skin, he slipped his fingers inside her pajamas.
Rivana’s breath hitched, her eyes opening wide in shock. Azrael stilled at her reaction and took his hand out. He broke their kiss, pulling back just enough to look at her.
And there, in those deep brown eyes, Azrael saw a tinge of hesitation. Rivana’s cheeks were bright red, her lips parted slightly, gasping for air. How could he stop himself if she gave such reactions?
"You are driving me crazy, Rain," Azrael murmured, his voice rough as his thumb traced her jawline.
Rivana’s stomach fluttered at his words, her heart still pounding in her ears. Yes, he was driving her crazy too! But she couldn’t bring herself to say it.
Azrael exhaled heavily and reluctantly pushed himself up, laying beside her. "Let’s sleep. You haven’t slept a blink last night," he murmured.
Rivana nodded, though the devil inside her screamed for something else entirely. "Good night," she whispered before closing her eyes.
Despite the tension still thrumming between them, Azrael wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her closer. Kissing the top of her head, he closed his eyes and replied, "Good night."
Rivana wrapped her arm around him and snuggled closer. She sighed softly and tried to sleep, his steady heartbeat slowly lulling her into a deep slumber.
---
A few hours later, the sharp sun rays filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. It was past noon, and the gentle hum of life outside barely penetrated the serene silence within.
Azrael groaned and turned around in his sleep. He patted the space beside him and found it empty. Squinting his eyes, he woke up with a frown and looked around the room. With a sigh, he got up and noticed that the bathroom door was open and unoccupied. He got down from the bed and walked out of the room.
He looked around the mansion, his eyes scanning every corner, and then headed downstairs. George greeted him as he reached the bottom of the stairs.
"Where’s Rivana?" Azrael asked, his voice laced with concern.
George blinked in confusion. Ezekiel had warned them not to disturb the couple, so he had been busy in the kitchen. "I will look around," he said, bowing and quickly moving to search for their madam.
Azrael ran a hand through his messy hair. Where did she go? he wondered, cursing himself for falling into such a deep sleep that he didn’t notice when she left the room.
Just as he was about to step out of the house, Callum rushed in, wearing a dreadful expression. Dropping everything he was doing, he had gone to take care of things in the basement and returned only now, having noticed something horrific in the garden.
"Your wife..." he panted out loud, stopping midsentence. Azrael took a step forward, his expression dark and alarmed.
Pointing outside, Callum continued, "In the garden, she—" 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Azrael didn’t wait for him to finish and rushed out. His heart raced, worry and tension coursing through him. Where was she? What had happened? His mind swirled with questions, each more terrifying than the last.
Callum followed him, his expression pale. He knew the world might just end today if something had happened to Rivana.
Azrael descended the large stairs to the mansion, rushing toward the garden. But he stopped midway by the entrance, his eyes falling on a horrific scene in front of him.
A man with dark hair, almost as tall as Azrael, was hugging his wife. And what shocked him the most was Rivana, who hadn’t shed a tear since last night, was now crying in his arms.
