Starting to Gain Experience from Push-Ups-Chapter 1211 - 588_2
In the Inner World.
Fang Cheng sat on the throne, his brows gradually tightening.
That mysterious presence from a higher dimension, its spiritual energy was overwhelmingly vast.
Like an endless river, nearly inexhaustible.
Even though the opponent descended through dimensions, its strength had been greatly weakened.
But his own consciousness tendrils, similarly not within the Inner World, couldn’t fully leverage the home advantage.
Continuing this way would eventually drag down his spiritual power, inevitably leading to defeat.
His gaze swept over the Fire Dragon’s face, twisted in extreme pain, and suddenly, a spark of inspiration flashed through Fang Cheng’s mind.
This could be called the Fire Dragon’s home ground.
He was the true master here!
Therefore, as long as he chose to accept it, he could turn the tables.
"Fire Dragon!"
Fang Cheng focused his spiritual power into a beam, transforming into a sound like a grand bell, exploding directly in the other party’s almost collapsing mind:
"I can save you, relieve you of your pain!"
"Eliminate all distractions and call out my name—Fang Cheng!"
In the abyss where consciousness continually sank.
The Fire Dragon was enduring the pain of his soul being torn apart.
He opened his eyes with difficulty and saw the sky burned into a dark red.
A colossal, indescribable demonic shadow stood in the distance, with horns atop its head, surrounded by raging flames.
It was the terrifying ruler he had seen countless times in nightmares.
And directly above, a golden sun was radiating brilliant light, resisting the shadow’s encroachment.
Hearing that imposing voice, the Fire Dragon’s spirit jolted.
He endured the stinging pain from the bright light, staring unflinchingly at the sun above.
He parted his cracked lips, attempting to utter that name:
"Fang... Cheng..."
But the shadow seemed to sense his betrayal, and the dark purple flames instantly intensified their burning fury.
"Ah—"
The Fire Dragon let out a scream, his body growing hotter, his soul seemingly about to turn to ashes.
Just as he could no longer bear it, about to fall into complete darkness, ready to give up at the last moment.
"Heart of Steel!" 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
A thunderous shout, imbued with unyielding divine power, like heavenly wrath, descended from above.
Boom!
A steel barrier emanating a cold metallic sheen suddenly crashed down from the void.
With overwhelming force, it severed the shadow’s flames, enveloping the Fire Dragon’s body tightly within.
The searing heat and pain vanished in the instant the barrier fell.
The Fire Dragon had yet to catch his breath when the world around him began to spin violently.
The shadow, the blazing sun, and the crimson-burning sky, all scenes twisted and reshaped at lightning speed.
Finally, everything dissolved into countless radiant streams streaking backwards.
Until the sensation of weightlessness abruptly disappeared, everything returned to normal.
The Fire Dragon’s feet touched solid ground, staggering slightly, nearly falling.
He gasped for air, his chest heaving, and snapped his eyes open.
The sight before him left him momentarily stunned.
This was not the dark, moldy underground clinic, nor the nightmare filled with flames and lava.
Rather, it was an incomparably grand structure, a hall sacred to the extreme.
Sunlight streamed in through the tall, narrow stained glass windows on both sides of the great hall, refracted into countless splendid beams.
Like ribbons of light, they traversed the entire space.
Gigantic stone pillars, resembling the arms of ancient giants holding up the sky, stood around.
They supported the vast dome, lending the hall an aura of solemnity and dignity.
The Fire Dragon followed the beams of light, casting his eyes towards the end of the hall.
Atop tall steps, a throne of pure gold stood silently.
Seated on the throne was a human-shaped light silhouette that couldn’t be gazed upon directly.
The figure radiated a brilliance as dazzling and scorching as the sun, illuminating the surrounding space in grandeur.
The Fire Dragon opened his eyes wide, trying to adapt to the intense light, and gazed intently.
When the handsome face hidden behind the halo gradually became clear, his pupils suddenly contracted, and he exclaimed:
"Chairman Fang?!"
The light and shadow on the throne slightly shimmered.
The dazzling golden light around began to wane.
Fang Cheng supported the edges of the throne with both hands and slowly stood up.
He looked down upon the red-haired man below the stairs, his tone calm and composed:
"Are you feeling better?"
The Fire Dragon swallowed, his adam’s apple moving up and down with difficulty.
He looked down at his intact body and then glanced around the majestic stone pillars, his voice trembling slightly:
"This... Where is this? What just happened?"
The terrifying scene he had seen in the dream just rushed into his mind again uncontrollably.
Fang Cheng had transformed into a blazing sun and confronted the massive demonic shadow that granted him power!
That being had only appeared in the Fire Dragon’s deepest nightmares before.
With each arrival, accompanied by sulfur and flames, it brought a fearsome pressure that nearly drove his sanity to collapse.
At present, just recalling it slightly, he trembled uncontrollably like a quail caught by the neck, his heart palpitating almost to a stop.
Yet the man before him forcibly pushed back the power that scared him to his core.
Fang Cheng stepped forward and slowly descended the first stair.
His tall figure appeared even more towering and magnificent amidst the dazzling light and shadow.
"This is my world."
His profound gaze seemed capable of penetrating the Fire Dragon’s chest, seeing through the deepest fear in the opponent’s heart:
"Just now, I summoned your consciousness to come here; you are safe now."
"As for the thing haunting your subconscious, its reach cannot extend this far and can no longer threaten your life as before."
Upon hearing this, the Fire Dragon’s body trembled violently.
Those blue eyes were interwoven with shock and awe.
He finally understood that the experience was no mere dream but actually a surreal confrontation!
The young and handsome man before him.
Not only does he possess terrifying power to blow apart armored helicopters with bare hands in reality.
In the realm of the spirit, he also holds might comparable to a god.
The atmosphere in the hall sank into a brief silence.
Only the subtle sound of the breeze brushing through the vast hall.
Fang Cheng halted, standing at the center of the stairs, and calmly spoke:
"Fire Dragon, are you now willing to pledge your loyalty to me and officially join the Illuminati?"
The Fire Dragon was slightly taken aback, then he took a deep breath, and the gaze once scattered due to shock gathered in an instant.
Without any hesitation, he took a step back with his left foot, and his right knee heavily knelt on the hard stone slab.
Then he lowered his head, placed his right hand on his left chest, offering an impeccably standard western knight’s oath of allegiance.
"I am willing to offer my loyalty and strength, becoming your most devoted and reliable servant, Chairman!"
His voice was somewhat hoarse but carried a fervent and adoring zeal surviving a catastrophe.
"Very well."
Fang Cheng nodded slightly, his eyes growing sharper, piercing the other’s blue eyes like a blade:
"But as the leader of the organization, I require more than just verbal allegiance."
"Since you have pledged to join the Illuminati, from this day onward, your life and your soul can only belong to me."
Fang Cheng gazed down at the loyal servant below the stairs, his voice slowly echoing in the vast hall.
The Fire Dragon raised his head, meeting the overwhelmingly oppressive gaze.
His face showed slight hesitation, then he gritted his teeth, as if unloading a heavy burden:
"Chairman, actually... Fire Dragon is just my code name, my real name is Shanks."
He raised his hand, pointing at his face with a wry smile:
"This face is also specially disguised and is not my true appearance."
"I fled from Eastern Europe to Xia Country, concealed my identity, and joined the Bloodthorn Mercenary Corps just to settle a personal vendetta."
Speaking to this point, Shanks took another deep breath, his gaze becoming incomparably fervent:
"As long as you are willing to protect me and let me complete that matter. The life of Shanks, along with my soul, can be handed to you at any time!"
