Chapter 1697: Chapter 1697: His Whole World Is Only You 30

Ding Jinshi was taken aback for a moment, but upon seeing Gu En’s smug expression, she snorted coldly, leaving behind a remark, "Not interested!" Then she turned and was about to get in the car.

Even Gu En probably didn’t expect Ding Jinshi to react this way, not showing any of the anticipated joy and gratitude, but instead, displaying a reaction that was a world apart from her plans to get married.

"Ding Jinshi, don’t you want to hear about Ding Long?" Gu En, gritting her teeth in anger, directly blocked Ding Jinshi’s path, "Are you really intent on marrying Ding Long? Don’t you want to know what Ding Long has done to you? Do you think Ding Long is as harmless as he seems? If you knew what he’s done, I bet you wouldn’t want to marry Ding Long!"

"What do you want? Gu En, can’t you stand seeing others happy? In the past, when I was with Lan Li, you forced us apart threatening with your life, and now, when I’m going to marry Ding Long, you suddenly jump out to sow discord between us. Gu En, are you crazy or perverted?" Ding Jinshi’s eyes darkened, so the words she spoke were not polite at all; in fact, her tone was filled with disdain, "I really wish your dear brother Lan Li could see your true colors."

"You..." In the end, she was young, always spoiled like a star, couldn’t take such straightforward mockery, Gu En’s expression turned a bit sinister, "If you want to know what Ding Long has done to you, then come with me! Unless you don’t dare to find out how true or false Ding Long’s feelings for you are."

With that, Gu En turned and walked off first, but not leaving; instead, she headed straight into the café across the street.

Ding Jinshi stood by the car until Gu En’s figure disappeared from sight, her hands in her sleeves balled into fists, suppressing the unease within her heart.

After a long moment, she finally started moving, following Gu En’s footsteps into the café.

After only about fifteen minutes, Ding Jinshi came out of the door again, alone, even slightly swaying, her face pale.

Back in the car, her hands gripping the steering wheel were still trembling, she bit her lips tightly, her eyes stinging with the urge to cry. She stayed in the car for a long time, and only then did she drive back to the place she shared with Ding Long.

As soon as Ding Jinshi entered the door, she could already smell the aroma of food coming from the kitchen. Ding Long probably heard the door open, so he poked his head out of the kitchen and saw Ding Jinshi looking down, changing her shoes.

"Why are you home at this time today?" Ding Long asked.

"I stayed out a bit with colleagues after work," Ding Jinshi replied sullenly, not lifting her head as she headed back to her room, saying, "Call me when it’s time to eat."

Ding Long didn’t notice anything unusual, thinking Ding Jinshi just sweated during shopping and was eager to shower due to her cleanliness habit, so he smiled and returned to the kitchen.

A while later, Ding Long set the table. The food for two isn’t complicated, two dishes and a soup, varying every day, which is why Ding Long was able to keep Ding Jinshi well-nourished and radiant.

"Dinner’s ready," Ding Long called towards Ding Jinshi’s room. The person inside responded, but it took a full two or three minutes before she came out, in loungewear, her hair wrapped in a towel, droplets of water still dripping from the ends.

By now, if Ding Long hadn’t noticed anything amiss with Ding Jinshi, during dinner, he surely realized she was in a bad mood.
