Starforce Warriors-Chapter 1029: Choices (1)
A brief silence followed, then the battle resumed. This was the first time Li Xiaofei had felt such overwhelming pressure since becoming an Emperor. Even Ding Hao and the other five Human Emperors fighting at his side didn’t relieve the pressure.
"The fun part begins now," Oblivion began to laugh.
His body rippled slightly, and a figure stepped out from within. He was handsome and dressed in imperial robes. It was the Holy Emperor, Sun Fei. But this Sun Fei, aside from his similar appearance and attire, was vastly different in every other regard. The aura he emitted and the presence he carried bore no resemblance to the true Sun Fei.
Violet flames shimmered across his body, and his expression radiated evil and cruelty. It was the complete opposite of the real Sun Fei’s sacred and radiant presence. What shocked everyone most was that this violet-flame version of Sun Fei possessed a level of energy and law suppression no weaker than the original.
"Heh heh heh..." Letting out a cold and emotionless sneer that mocked life itself, the violet-flame Sun Fei transformed into a streak of light and charged straight at the real Sun Fei.
He unleashed secret arts identical to Sun Fei’s own. Whether it was Holy Knight Mode, Berserker Mode, Assassin Mode, Mage Mode, every secret technique known to Sun Fei was now being demonstrated by this counterfeit. Aside from the unmistakable corruption of violet flame, his power, precision, and effect were almost identical to the original
Sun Fei focused all his attention on the battle. The two clashed fiercely, their strength evenly matched. At almost the same time, Oblivion repeated the process, forming another replica.
This time, it was a violet-flame Ding Hao. The copy held a purple demon saber and a purple rusted sword. It had long violet hair, and even his white robes were tinged with purple. It was the Oblivion version of Ding Hao.
"My blade and sword alone are sacred," said the violet-haired Ding Hao. His handsome face twisted into a sinister smile as he launched himself at the real Ding Hao.
The strength he displayed was in no way inferior to the original. His purple rusted sword and demon saber clashed with the original’s weapons. They were equally matched in both might and momentum. Even their Emperor weapons mirrored each other.
The sight left Li Xiaofei astonished, Oblivion can forge replications to this extent?
Emperor weapons were forged over long epochs and evolved alongside their masters. Their immense strength could not be replicated overnight. Yet Oblivion had somehow done it.
As expected, it wasn’t long before violet-flame doppelgängers of Li Mu, Ye Qingyu, and Lin Beichen emerged as well. Their Emperor weapons were the same, and their strength, indistinguishable.
The five Human Emperors were now completely tied down by their respective violet-flame clones. For the moment, none of them could spare the strength to strike at Oblivion himself.
Oblivion’s gaze turned toward Li Xiaofei. Notably, he had not created a replica of Li Xiaofei.
"The entire universe has awaited your birth and your ascension," Oblivion said slowly. "I’ve waited too. Now I want to know, what is it you’re hiding? What made those five willing to wait so many years for you?"
Oblivion began to walk forward. Waves of violet annihilation flames surged from his body. Each step burned through the void, leaving behind a trail of flaming violet footprints. Spatial barriers dissolved with every pace.
The Land of Annihilation was his domain. Here, his energy was limitless, but Li Xiaofei showed no fear. He studied Oblivion closely. Even after spawning five Emperor-level clones, Oblivion’s original body still emanated a terrifying pressure. His energy had not weakened at all.
Li Xiaofei summoned the Heart of Guardianship. Golden armor cloaked his body. He held a sword in one hand and a saber in the other. Immortal force surged through him, burning brightly and releasing waves of golden brilliance that rolled outward like a great tide. It surged across the endless void, crashing toward Oblivion.
The golden radiance clashed with the violet demonic flames, colliding repeatedly in the skies like two oceans of opposing color. Their respective energies smashed into each other with explosive force.
Li Xiaofei instantly felt an immense pressure crashing down on him. This pressure far surpassed what he had experienced when facing the Ancestor of Strength. It also exceeded the force he had endured when fighting alongside Ding Hao and the other five Human Emperors against Oblivion.
But instead of fear, it ignited his fighting spirit. He burned with Emperor energy, his entire being blazing like a fiery sun as he launched himself at Oblivion.
Oblivion slowly raised his hand and endless violet sabers and swords condensed from thin air. When Oblivion’s palm pressed down on the void—
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
A rain of swordlight and saberlight poured down on Li Xiaofei like a world-ending firestorm. But Li Xiaofei’s expression remained sharp and unyielding. He tore open the void with a slash of his saber.
In an instant, he carved out a vacuum corridor between them. He flickered through the corridor, piercing through the curtain of violet sword rain and appearing before Oblivion in a single breath. His sword erupted with killing light.
Oblivion did not move. He simply raised one finger and began tapping gently in front of him.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The collision of Great Dao energies rang out like the clash of divine metals. He used a single finger to intercept every one of Li Xiaofei’s sword strikes. Each collision between fingertip and swordtip was effortless, relaxed, and almost artistic.
However, Li Xiaofei’s expression did not change as he continued unleashing both his blade and sword. This time, he wielded the sword techniques inherited from Sword Immortal Lin Beichen, which he had obtained in the Realm of Ruins, alongside his own self-created saber arts.
With the Dual Sacred Body of Blade and Sword, his close-quarters combat strength surged to a near-invincible level when both weapons were used in tandem.
A faint smile curved Oblivion’s lips as he said, "Not bad. Your skill with the saber and sword now rivals that of Ding Hao."
He could no longer remain completely motionless. Violet flame sigils shimmered across his body, flickering like stardust. They flowed rapidly, forming an impenetrable defensive array.
At last, Oblivion launched his own strike. His offense contained no formal techniques. With a mere thought, the void itself began to draw back, revealing violet blades of demonic flame. They emerged at impossible angles and blistering speeds as they shot at Li Xiaofei.
In the blink of an eye, the vast expanse of space transformed into a prison of violet blades. Li Xiaofei burned with Emperor energy, unleashing endless golden radiance to resist the onslaught as he fought back with everything he had. He unleashed techniques, laws, sabers, swords, and raw energy. The battle, at this level, had begun to transcend form. It was returning to a state of pure, elemental combat.
In what felt like a breath, ten years passed. Yet the battle still showed no signs of ending. Li Xiaofei, having fought without respite for years, was under immense pressure. Even with the strength of an Immortal Emperor, he was steadily forced back under Oblivion’s assault. He was already wounded. Emperor blood flowed freely from his body, staining vast swathes of the void a deep, brilliant red.
A flicker of surprise finally appeared in Oblivion’s eyes. He had indeed sensed a strange energy within Li Xiaofei while they fought. It was an energy distinct from the might of the other Human Emperors.
It was precisely this energy that had allowed Li Xiaofei to stand his ground for so long under Oblivion’s relentless assault.
"So that’s how it is." A satisfied smile rose on Oblivion’s face as a revelation dawned in his heart. He said, "Even the other five would not be able to fight me alone for so long... Your foundational strength is clearly inferior to theirs, and yet you still dare contend with me. So this is the power of humanity’s faith, is it? That’s why Ding Hao and the others believe that faith is the final force capable of resisting death."
Excitement flashed in Oblivion’s eyes. His attacks became even more terrifying. One thought gave birth to a hundred strikes. A single intent summoned the fall of a thousand gods. The entire Land of Annihilation was now a forbidden zone for living beings, filled with boundless destructive energy.
Li Xiaofei’s expression remained solemn. He silently held his saber across his chest and his sword at his side.
The battle entered its second decade. Space had shattered. The battlefield had shifted who knew how far, their clash rupturing massive swathes of spatial barriers.
Ding Hao, Li Mu, Ye Qingyu, Sun Fei, and Lin Beichen were nowhere to be seen. They had disappeared from sight, their energy fluctuations completely undetectable. No one knew how their battles had turned out, but Li Xiaofei’s situation was growing dire.
