Chapter 1026: Gathering Of The Immortal Emperors

A few days later, Li Xiaofei encountered an Oblivion. It was a being covered entirely in dust mites and resembled a crocodile in form. Li Xiaofei fought it in a fierce battle and felt immense pressure. This was a creature of the Emperor Realm.

Only then did Li Xiaofei begin to understand why the five Human Emperors had to remain stationed in the Land of Annihilation. If a creature of this level broke out into the real world, it would be an utter catastrophe. It would not only bring slaughter, but also contaminate the entire universe.

The battle lasted for half a year. In the end, Li Xiaofei managed to slay the Oblivion. As the drifting dust mites scattered like a weathered sand sculpture, the creature dissolved into the surrounding space. Dust to dust, earth to earth; it transformed into the molecular matter of that dimension.

Li Xiaofei put away the Heart of Guardianship. The battle had left him somewhat exhausted, but it had also brought great rewards. The strength of the Oblivion had surprised him, even though Old Tan had warned him beforehand.

"We need to hurry," said Old Tan.

Li Xiaofei asked, "How much longer?"

Old Tan had mentioned before that they were heading to a place even the five Human Emperors wished to reach but could not. Although Li Xiaofei knew the location lay within the Land of Annihilation, he had no idea where exactly it was.

Old Tan replied, "That depends on luck."

Li Xiaofei was left speechless. Old Tan constantly used his spatial abilities as the two of them continued traversing through the Land of Annihilation. Suddenly, Li Xiaofei sensed an extremely powerful aura ahead. It was an aura of the Emperor Realm.

"It’s Sun Fei, the Holy Emperor," Old Tan exclaimed in delight.

It was a rare stroke of fortune to encounter someone familiar in the boundless Land of Annihilation. Sure enough, as the space folded and stretched, Li Xiaofei saw a handsome man with shoulder-length black hair engaged in a fierce battle against a swarm of Oblivions within the void.

The man had distinctly Western features, with a mixed heritage that lent him a look that both the East and West would find appealing. Seven different auras radiated from his body, including divinity, flame, nature, venom, summoning, and more.

Seven different energies from the Emperor Realm flowed naturally around him, fully integrated into his combat techniques. It was the first time Li Xiaofei had ever seen a human cultivator who was this powerful. Each punch he threw carved a vivid imprint into the void itself.

According to legend, the Holy Emperor Sun Fei was the most powerful polymath in human history. His body was overwhelmingly strong and unmatched in close combat, yet he also wielded terrifying magical abilities. He was the ultimate dual cultivator of magic and martial arts.

His martial technique was known as the unrivaled Dragon Fist. Though it was Li Xiaofei’s first time meeting Sun Fei, the moment he saw the punches, he had to admit the legends were true. This Holy Emperor’s martial prowess was indeed peerless in the world.

However, Sun Fei was not fighting alone. Two women fought by his side. One was a delicately beautiful woman with golden hair and blue eyes. She appeared to possess some form of eternal magic, which enhanced Sun Fei’s combat ability. The other was a black-haired goddess of archery. Each arrow she released carried the power to slay gods.

These two must be the legendary empresses of the Holy Emperor Sun Fei, Li Xiaofei thought to himself. He had read stories about the five Human Emperors and knew something of their rise to power.

Li Xiaofei joined the battle without hesitation. Sun Fei smiled at him. That smile felt as if he were greeting an old friend he had long awaited.

The tide of battle finally shifted with Li Xiaofei’s support. Ten days later, all the Oblivions were slain, their bodies dissolving into particles of annihilated dust that drifted away into the void.

"Senior," Li Xiaofei said with a smile.

Sun Fei clapped him firmly on the shoulder. "You’ve come. Good. Then it’s time to bring everything to its conclusion."

He joined Li Xiaofei with his two empresses as they voyaged through the void.

Half a year later, after hundreds of battles, both large and small, the group finally encountered another companion within the Land of Annihilation. Dressed in white and wielding a black spear, it was the Heavenly Emperor, Ye Qingyu. Another one of the five Human Emperors, he was an invincible powerhouse of overwhelming strength. Many of the spear techniques Li Xiaofei had cultivated bore traces of Ye Qingyu’s style.

At that moment, Ye Qingyu was locked in combat with dozens of Oblivions. His white robes were stained with blood, yet he remained fiercely on the offensive, cutting down the monsters one after another. This kind of battle had gone on for countless years.

Whoosh.

An arrow tore through the void as the goddess of archery struck first. When Li Xiaofei, Sun Fei, and the others joined in, the battle came to an early end.

"Old Ye, how did you end up in such a sorry state?" Sun Fei teased with a grin.

It was clear they were well acquainted and shared a close bond. They were just like ordinary friends with a strong relationship. All five Human Emperors had risen from humble beginnings, climbing their way up from nobodies to reach the Emperor Realm. Unlike the aloof, emotionless deities of legend, they still carried the warmth and familiarity of the mortal world. Even their manner of speaking was casual, like that of ordinary people.

Ye Qingyu ignored Sun Fei’s teasing and turned to look at Li Xiaofei instead. His gaze held a hint of comfort and anticipation, as if he were seeing an old friend again.

"Senior," Li Xiaofei greeted with a respectful bow.

Ye Qingyu said, "We parted long ago, but the day was bound to come when we’d meet again. I’m glad you’ve returned."

Li Xiaofei was momentarily stunned, What does that mean? Have we met before? But why can't I remember it at all?

He asked in confusion, "Senior, have we met before?"

Ye Qingyu replied, "We’ve more than just met... There was once a saying that spread far and wide—‘In his lifetime, Xiaofei shall never be lesser than others.’ And now, it has come true."

Xiaofei shall never be lesser than others?

The moment Li Xiaofei heard those words, his soul trembled. He didn’t know why, but it felt as though he had recited that phrase countless times before. It resonated deeply, striking at the very core of his being.

"Senior, I—"

"There’s no need for such formality between us. Let us treat each other as equals," Ye Qingyu interrupted him with a gentle pat on his shoulder.

His tone was warm, as though they were truly old friends reunited. However, time was short, and Ye Qingyu said no more. Old Tan continued to guide them through the void.

About a year later, the group came upon Ding Hao, who sat cross-legged within the void, accompanied by Li Mu. This was the Blade and Sword Supreme, Ding Hao, and the Saint Martial Battle Emperor, Li Mu. At that moment, Ding Hao appeared to be recovering in seclusion. A blade and sword aura swirled around him, forming a unique domain of sword and blade. There were no Oblivions in sight, but the lingering aura of their presence still tainted the air. It was clear that a great battle had ended not long ago.

Sun Fei stepped forward to greet them. True to his outgoing nature, Sun Fei could talk to anyone. He draped an arm around Ding Hao’s shoulder with casual ease, like a carefree teenager. It would be hard for outsiders to believe that this man was the revered Holy Emperor of humanity.

Ding Hao wore plain green robes and possessed a strikingly handsome face. Li Xiaofei immediately stepped forward to bow in gratitude. Back during his days on Earth, his path in martial arts had been deeply influenced by Ding Hao.

The Dual Sacred Body of Blade and Sword technique in particular was a blessing from Ding Hao that had helped Li Xiaofei tremendously. Ding Hao was, in a way, half a master to him. Since the grace of a teacher was as vast as the heavens, how could he not show respect?
