Star Gate-Chapter 1691: The West Brightens When The East Doesn’t (IV)
Reality proved as Li Hao expected. Everyone sensed a formidable surge of strength not long after mayhem erupted on Skyward. It gathered in the distance until an exalted emperor abruptly exploded near the world barrier! [1]
Red Moon strength dissipated through the surroundings, drawing glances from many. Even the two eighth ranks widened their eyes at their findings.
Five exalted emperors were suddenly hovering near the world barrier. Li Hao’s jaw nearly dropped when he tilted his head.
What was the Orchid Forest master doing here?
Logically speaking, Orchid Forest needed to be in seclusion prior to the conclusion of his successful integration into Red Moon. In addition, Red Moon needed at least two seventh ranks in residence to ensure an adequate defense at home. It would also take a while before the three major worlds were brought under Red Moon’s banner...
But with the presence of five exalted emperors, did that mean that the three major worlds had already been brought to heel?
So quickly?
Then was there a seventh rank from one of them who’d stayed behind, as well as Griefstricken? So there were two seventh ranks on Red Moon?
I...
Li Hao nearly broke character! This change had happened all too quickly, ruining part of his perfect plan. As expected, plans never lasted beyond the first engagement. A multitude of thoughts ran through his mind, but they came to the same conclusion—it was bad for two seventh ranks to be present at his destination!
On the other hand, it was good if his plans still came to fruition. Two seventh ranks would be a major haul, assuming they could actually take those two down, that was!
One seventh rank was fine. Benefitting from the cooperation of the Orchid Forest master was even better. But two...?
Fuck me!
Li Hao ran through quick adjustments, then came to grips with the situation. It wasn’t a bad thing for Orchid Forest to be present! The west brightens if the east doesn’t!
Orchid Forest, Fog Mountain, the Human King, myself, the Light master, and Flare Sun... That’s a hefty collection of forces, right? Void and I are also the key players within!
What if we can grievously injure Red Moon here? Or perhaps...
Li Hao raised his head to look at one person in particular—Fog Mountain!
Old Fog, Skyward is a dead place. Why don’t I take you on a spin around the three major worlds? Red Moon is hard to seize, but the three major worlds will be a nice substitute for Skyward!
He would take things one step at a time. Such was what he was faced with now. He would not stand for no gains at all after paying such an enormous price.
In the distance, the Orchid Forest master immediately looked at Li Hao after he found his footing. Or rather, his eyes snapped to the Sword Sovereign imposter.
Thank goodness you’re still here. Now that you see me, it’s time to toss in the towel!
......
Toss in the towel?
Why would Li Hao do that at this stage? It was normal for unexpected changes to rock preset plans. He hadn’t hoped for everything to proceed smoothly without a hiccup, so all they needed to do was to roll with the punches.
Even the master of Light looked on unpleasantly when the five exalted emperors from Red Moon appeared. He clearly hadn’t anticipated either that Red Moon would so quickly convince the masters of the other three major worlds.
That was quite abnormal.
They didn’t know that the Red Moon master had signed a treaty of great dao without much protest. This was something that both the masters of Light and Skycloud would never agree to—it would pose too many limitations on them.
They weren’t in as much of a rush as the Red Moon master either, nor feeling the same urgency. Hence, they would never easily enter an alliance that involved chaos tribulations as punishment.
Hence, the arrival of this group was quite a shock.
The New Martial Human King tilted his head for a look and immediately recognized the Red Moon master, despite the two having never met before. The Human King had spun around Red Moon major world for so long, but never actually made his way there. He’d given the excuse that he was lost, but...
Skyward was so far away from Red Moon Region, yet he hadn’t gotten lost along the way. But somehow, he’d been lost around Red Moon for a very long period of time.
During this period of supposed misplaced locations, he’d eradicated some of Red Moon’s allies. Worlds such as Utmost Dark and Elysian Fields were Red Moon’s long-standing allies. There were also a few chaos wanderers and others that the Human King eliminated.
He’d gone on a rampage through the chaos, but somehow never arrived at Red Moon.
This time, he recognized the Red Moon master with a single look. Red Moon strength emanated from the eighth rank master of the world.
He then turned his gaze onto Li Hao. Your goal was to lure this guy here, right? You want to raid his base of operations? The old man’s hope of ascension is at the Red Moon home world, isn’t it? This is what you’re trying to accomplish after spending so much time and effort, even opening the Skyward dao universe.
The Human King fully understood! Complete understanding had dawned the moment the Red Moon master appeared. He knew what the Silver Moon king had in mind, but this enlightenment also had much to do with his understanding of the Sword Sovereign.
The Human King raised his eyebrow in the next second—five exalted emperors have come, all of them high rank. That probably wasn’t within your expectations, was it? 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Something seemed to have gone wrong with the Silver Moon king’s plans.
The Human King’s lips curved upward. That was normal. He himself had established plans ever since he was a weakling, but none of them had ever played out the way he anticipated.
Surprise!
The Human King grinned. The Silver Moon king was too young. If he’d spent a few years in New Martial and traveled through the martial world with him for a few years, he would’ve understood that all plans were nonsense. The process was never important, they just needed the results!
It looked like the arrival of so many was outside the young man’s expectations. So how would the Silver Moon king handle this, hmm?
......
Li Hao continued to float upward, drifting toward the Skyward dao universe without a word. It’s up to me where the entrance opens! That is the advantage of holding the reins of power!
So what if you guys up ahead are running faster than me? Can you force open the dao universe if it doesn’t open to you? If you could, you would’ve long opened it!
The young man remained composed as he ran through various possibilities. The situation was not yet out of control! It was just more exalted emperors than previously anticipated...
A crack seemed to appear in the dao universe as Li Hao hurtled through the firmament. Exalted emperors tried to blast it with energy, but their blows fell on empty air as they didn’t even come within touching distance.
“The crack is where the Sword Sovereign is!” yelled a seventh rank when he looked over. He didn’t need to do so, everyone else had already registered the sight. Even Fog Mountain couldn’t help but curse to himself.
The fuck? Didn’t you say that you’d open a doorway in the direction I was charging in? What’s it doing on your side? And what the hell is the Silver Moon king doing??
Was all of this a sham for that guy to enter himself?
The Silver Moon king had been very weak when they originally came to an agreement. Now he was weak no longer—his presence indicated that he was a seventh rank. Perhaps he wanted to take Skyward for himself!
Fog Mountain quickly about-faced and rushed toward Li Hao. That bastard!!
Behind him, the Light and Skycloud masters also swiftly pivoted. Even further ahead, the five exalted emperors with Red Moon passed through the world barrier. The Red Moon master was delighted that he’d arrived perfectly on time.
The dao universe had just shown itself and it wasn’t fully open yet! That was good, he’d thought that he’d come a little too late. Who would’ve thought that it was opening only now? Was Skyward waiting for him?
Boom!
A massive crack appeared in the sky and rapidly compressed into the shape of a doorway.
On the ground, Demon Summit.
A ray of light containing immense imperial might raced for the firmament, like it’d been summoned!
The might of a ninth rank spilled out, prompting startled jerks from the Light master and the rest!
A chessboard appeared in the void.
“The dao chess!” exclaimed someone who recognized it. “It’s a ninth rank treasure and it was in Demon Summit!”
They vaguely understood something at this time. The opening of Skyward’s dao universe might have something to do with this ninth rank weapon. Passion ignited in many people’s hearts, particularly seventh ranks that hadn’t held much hope before.
Rumor had it that the dao chess was also crafted from an eighth rank dao universe. That was the equivalent of both a ninth rank and an eighth rank universe being available on the premises! How... utterly astounding.
Even if the eighth ranks claimed the Skyward dao universe, they could leave behind the dao chess for the rest of them, no?
The presence of darkness flashed over Li Hao and he sneered, his voice booming like a bell’s. “Don’t even think about it! This world, this dao universe, and this dao chess is mine!
“I’ve already inherited some of the Skyward master’s legacy. Would the dao universe open so easily for me if not for that? Today is the day in which I, Li Changsheng, verify my dao as a seventh rank! You guys have to ask the sword in my hand first if you want to take my treasures from me!”
With that, the dao chess shot toward Li Hao!
It pierced through the void and arrived next to the young man. The other exalted emperors jerked with shock! No wonder!
“Fog Mountain, help me seize the dao universe! I will give you the dao chess after that and help you throw off the shackles of Skycloud control! You will be the master of an eighth rank dao universe in your own right!”
Fog Mountain continued to fly through the air, completely ignoring Li Hao’s words. You mix truth with falsehood, kid, I’m just going to pretend that I didn’t hear anything. You’ve gotten even the dao chess out here! The disturbance is huge now, just what are you trying to do?
What do you want?
Li Hao ran for the dao universe, roaring, “Master of Light, Human King, and Fog Mountain, lend me a hand! Stop the others and wait for the crack to close. It will be their death sentence when I emerge in the world again!”
With that, he darted into the crack. Fog Mountain was hot on his heels.
Do I... go inside or not?
Based on his agreement with Li Hao, he no longer needed to safeguard the crack after the Red Moon master arrived. He could enter the dao universe as well.. But...
The Red Moon master being present with numerous exalted emperors clearly ruined some of the original plan.
Do I still stay here?
That was clearly what Li Hao intended.
1. Wtf, this is the cost for the world master to travel swiftly?? Blowing up one of his own? ☜
