Chapter 1214: The Silver Moon in the Sky (IV)

The Moon God sat down cross-legged without further ado. Her body shimmered in and out of sight. Night had fallen, so a lunar crescent tinged with red was visible in the sky. It abruptly exuded silver radiance that illuminated the land and fell onto the Moon God.

Her presence swiftly strengthened.

At the same time, the faint hue of red receded from the moon. Nine pillars of light appeared from Ying Hongyue’s body. Eight of them became one, leaving one by itself. That one was incredibly fragile, but now began to strengthen.

The sight widened the eyes of the red robes. The Red Moon power that’d been within Ying Hongyue had faded by quite a bit! What had he done with it?

......

Li Hao could also sense the changes, which were further corroborated by messages from Gan Wuliang and the others. While they couldn’t clearly make out the seal over Silver City, they could sense violent fluctuations in the airspace over the city.

Galewind might have returned to its original position beneath Silver City. A surge of blood qi had appeared and was strengthening the seal. That was Zheng Yu’s doing!

“Your Lordship, some changes are taking place in the world,” Gan Wuliang hastily transmitted. “There is Red Moon power leaking out and Galewind seems to be reinforcing the seal. Should we sabotage his efforts...”

“That’s alright!” Li Hao grinned. This was precisely what he was waiting for. Granted, permitting everything to develop would put him on more dangerous footing, but who cared about that?

“Keep an eye on the main cities!” the young man ordered instead. “Even rabbits bite when they’re backed into a corner, not to mention that the ancients are no rabbits! They’re also aware that we have our eyes set on the various ancient cities. Keep any developments under close observation!”

“Understood!”

Li Hao didn’t say anything else as he was about to take action as well. His sword intent intensified and stretched toward the direction he’d sensed before.

Perhaps they were sensing the same thing as well, or anticipating Li Hao’s arrival. The strong presences in that area trembled. A great quantity of faith also extended in that direction.

Li Hao paused and quietly took stock of the power of faith in the air. Numerous types of faith were being drawn upon, but many were also untouched.

Some belonged to the divine spirits that were dead. They drifted around freely. Some were given a wide berth and held stagnant because no one dared touch it. Perhaps their divine spirits hadn’t awakened yet, or it was simply that no one dared make use of it.

Li Hao’s eyes darted around, capturing some power of faith. He inspected it, then broke into a smile when he looked around.

Where are you, Li Daoheng?

If you’re here, I might be able to fish you out of hiding!

It doesn’t matter to me if you’re on the side of good or bad. I just know that you’ve been hiding all this time, so you can’t be a good guy.

The Moon God is such an idiot—the Divine Nation has been so infiltrated that it’s a leaky sieve! Li Daoheng would’ve been hidden even deeper if it wasn’t for all the divine spirits I killed.

However, it wasn’t long before the young man was frowning.

The faith that no one drew upon started flowing in the Moon God’s direction. Li Hao’s expression shifted slightly and he murmured, “The Moon God’s drawing on it... No... no wait...”

Confusion dawned in his eyes and he raised his head to the sky. The young man’s face twitched when he looked at the moon and he suddenly soared into the sky, shooting for the lunar body!

The moon existed within the world barrier, the seal. It could be seen, but could not be reached. It did not exist in real space. Therefore, even though people could see the moon, they would never be able to travel to it.

As more powerhouses learned of this fact, they ignored the silver moon that could be seen everywhere.

Thus, Li Hao normally wouldn’t fly into the sky and undertake the impossible mission of locating the moon that didn’t exist. But right now, he soared into the air and continued climbing. One thousand meters, two thousand meters, three thousand meters...

There did not seem to be an end to this world; the moon remained forever out of reach.

Li Hao stopped after an indeterminate period of time. He looked into the distance and saw a bright wheel of radiance hanging there!

The young man’s expression shifted rapidly and he refrained from continuing. He left after observing it a while longer.

A figure seemed to flash over the moon after he left. It looked down below, its shadow indicating that it wore a longsword on its back. It scanned the ground with a grave expression. Had that been... Li Hao?

......

The young man’s expression changed rapidly as he darted through the air, stunned at what he’d found.

“Impressive!”

All ruins were below the ground—such was common consensus. Ruins kept out of sight and their existence a secret.

But what if someone forged a ruin into a fake moon? What if they hung this ruin high in the sky for everyone to see? What if everyone knew that the moon existed within the world barrier and was thus out of reach? What if no one ever flew through the sky to seek the moon that did not exist?

Hiding in plain sight! Residing in a blind spot!

Or rather, should it be said that their methods were so sophisticated that even the Divine Nation queen felt that the moon in their night sky was just a projection of the real moon in the world barrier?

Li Hao had never considered this point himself. It was only after he probed the moon with the power of faith that he discovered this seemed to be a hiding spot. How impressive!

Have they always been in the seal? How did they get out then? Or were they free a long time ago and never in the seal to begin with?

Could one person do all of this by themselves? They’d deceived the entire world!

Even Zheng Yu and the Red Moon exalted emperor were in the palm of their hands. Could one person alone do all this?

Li Hao was both excited and agitated.

The bright moon in the sky continued to illuminate the world. Down below, the cultivating Moon God remained oblivious and didn’t think there was a problem at all.

......

In the air.

A temple towered on the moon. A sculpture manifested in it—none other than the Moon God often seen in the Moon God temples.

A human materialized beneath the sculpture, a longsword on their back and their brows tightly furrowed.

“Li Hao randomly took to the air. Has he discovered something?” the man asked softly.

There was no response for a very long time until the sculpture abruptly opened its eyes.

“What can he discover?”

“Perhaps... you and me?” the man said quietly.

“He would not have.”

“Are you certain?”

“No... but what reason or judgment is he relying on to be certain that we are here?”

“There was much amiss today...” said the man. “He brazenly wafted sword intent all over the nation and then stayed in place, not caring how strong the others were. I suspect that he’s come to the west this time in search of us.”

“Perhaps. So what if he discovers us?”

“......” The man didn’t say anything. He sank into deep thought as he peered down at the world below. “Moon God, is the heavenly will mature yet? When can it be captured?”

“Almost.”

“We should make it quick.”

“I will.”

Their conversation was at an end, but the man had used a stunning title. No one heard them, or they would be shocked beyond belief. Wasn’t the queen of Divine Nation the Moon God?

......

Down below, the cultivating Moon God was completely oblivious. She only knew that she was continuously growing stronger and immensely excited about it. She might be a Saint soon!

Although you’re a Saint, Li Hao, this queen is not afraid of you!

The world only knew that Li Hao was young, but didn’t know that she’d been born twenty-one years ago as well. She was no older than Li Hao and would recover Saint-level strength today!

......

Li Hao swiftly descended from the air, his mind racing with countless thoughts. The moon was fake!

But who would believe that?

Not only that, but this moon was extracting the faith of Divine Nation. It was a type of dao power, so perhaps the others had been studying the dao universe all this time, but unable to access it because they lacked dao meridians...

No wait!

That wasn’t right, Li Hao himself had only learned about dao meridians not too long ago. However, the other party had been studying faith for a very long time. They lacked dao meridians and were not divine spirits, so how could a member of the Lis absorb this power?

That’s not right... even if a Li member poses as a divine spirit, they won’t be able to absorb faith without any dao meridians. In that case...

They have dao meridians??

Li Hao’s jaw dropped. The other side had divine spirits, dao meridians, and a certain degree of knowledge of dao meridians.

Divine spirits?

Li Hao looked upward again and thought of the Divine Nation queen cultivating. The stagnant faith had suddenly started moving...

The young man shook his head, in a daze. There must be a connection between all of this! And how could they hoist up a fake moon without being discovered? That moon appeared so real!

Li Hao smacked his own head. Why was all of this happening? What had gone wrong?

The Moon God, divine spirits, dao meridians, great dao, the Lis...

Everything seemed so complicated all of a sudden. Was Zheng Yu’s group or the Red Moon exalted emperor truly the greatest threat to Silver Moon world?

Li Hao quickly flew into the distance. The Moon God was cultivating there, as well as some other divine spirits. He could sense their strength steadily increasing. Not only that, but some dao stars trembled in the dao universe. That meant their primary dao stars had shown themselves.

The young man advanced rapidly.

There were some things he couldn’t understand, so perhaps only these divine spirits could provide answers.
