Chapter 156: Isn’t he handsome?

"Enough," Old Master Lin glared at his son.

"I did not call everyone here to point fingers at one another. Lin Ginxian’s daughter’s origin will be revealed sooner or later. What we should discuss now is how all of you will manage to handle the situation. I don’t want anyone to make mistakes and say unnecessary things outside. The internal strife in the family should only happen inside the mansion.

"If any of you try to use this kind of trick to affect the family again, I won’t be lenient," Old Master Lin warned sternly.

Mr. Simon looked at Sophia and gestured for her to apologize. Although he argued with his old friend, what his granddaughter did was still wrong. Her mistakes caused the Lin family to lose a lot of face.

Sophia received her grandfather’s signal. She stepped forward and bowed her head to apologize. Only then did Old Master Lin’s annoyance towards his friend, Mr. Simon, subsided.

When everyone was dismissed, Mr. Simon followed Old Master Lin into his study room.

"I will overlook this once because your granddaughter is still young. If it happens again, I won’t be forgiving," Old Master Lin spoke firmly.

"Its really my granddaughter’s fault. I apologize again. If you ever need any help, I will try my best to assist you in this matter," Mr. Simon offered, feeling guilty.

Old Master Lin waved his hand dismissively, "It’s just a small matter. I don’t need your help."

Mr. Simon finally let go of the guilt. He then teased his friend, "I must say your granddaughter is quite a force to be reckoned with. My granddaughter doesn’t usually resort to cheap tricks unless she’s desperate. Your granddaughter must have made Sophia feel threatened."

Old Master Lin straightened his back. A proud look on his face, "She has my blood; of course, she will not be easy to handle. Anyway, you should prepare the betting money."

Mr. Simon laughed. "I did not expect you to put so much hope in her. But it’s quite disappointing she wasn’t here."

Mr. Simon felt it was a pity that he did not witness how that child handled pressure. If Bei Sangyun had been here, he might have had a chance to observe her. Who knows, perhaps that child might be a good match for his grandson.

Old Master Lin did not reply and just smiled. He was not a fool to believe Lin Ginxian’s excuse. He had known before the meeting that Bei Sangyun had not returned home last night and that Lin Ginxian was still looking for her.

Old Master Lin wasn’t worried about Bei Sangyun’s current situation. She had run away many times in the past, and Lin Ginxian had always found her.

Although Old Master Lin may seem cold and unbothered to his grandchildren, he was actually keeping a tight watch on them. So he knew the times when Bei Sangyun disappeared, trying to go back to her hometown.

For Old Master Lin, it was normal for that child to become homesick and throw a tantrum. After all, all his grandchildren are allowed to be willful sometimes. As long as they don’t tarnish the family name and they have the potential to become a great asset in the future for the family, he will close one eye to their behavior.

Old Master Lin and Mr. Simon were actually the same in this regard.

.....

In the guest room area, Sophia sat on the couch, contemplating the recent incident at school.

The scene of her throwing the drink and Fei Chuan shielding Bei Sangyun played over in her mind. The memory of the man’s beautiful eyes giving a cold glare lingered, creating a vivid imprint.

The man seemed gloomy and timid because of his hair covering his face and his frail figure. But when he shielded Bei Sangyun and gave her that intense glare, Sophia’s perception of him changed. That look made her heart skip a beat.

As he moved aside his wet hair, revealing his face, Sophia was dazzled by his unexpected handsomeness. It turned out he was actually more handsome than her brother. It was not an exaggeration to say that he was the most handsome man she had ever seen.

Sophia remained in a daze as the scene replayed in her mind. The more she recalled, the more she realized that Fei Chuan was genuinely cool.

"Hey, Richard. What do you think of Fei Chuan?" Sophia asked her brother.

Richard, engrossed with his phone and frowning at messages from Code, answered absent-mindedly, "A coward."

"How is he a coward? He’s actually fierce and fearless." Sophia defended, still captivated by Fei Chuan’s glare. It didn’t seem like the expression of someone timid and cowardly.

"Don’t you think he’s handsome?" Sophia placed her hand on her cheeks. "Say, if I tried to seduce him, do you think I’d have a chance? I’ve never failed to seduce anyone, so I think he might fall for me."

Richard paused, glaring at his sister. "You like that scarecrow? What happened to your taste?"

Sophia snorted, "If we’re talking about taste, yours is worse than mine. I don’t see what you like in that lowly woman."

"She’s different. Her stubborn and tough attitude makes me want to conquer her," Richard said with a smirk, eager to win Bei Sangyun over.

"Say, brother, why don’t you hurry up and seduce her already? Those two are always together. If you keep her away from Fei Chuan, I can grab the chance to be alone with him. He won’t be able to resist my charm."

Richard had already considered that plan. "I’ve been planning to do that. I don’t know why, but Bei Sangyun seems to be avoiding me. And that bastard always hangs around her. I rarely get a chance to approach her."

The siblings came to an agreement. Whenever they played tricks and schemes, Sophia and her brother were the best partners in crime.

"By the way, you have to be careful next time. Master Lin is generous this time because it’s our first offense. But if you make a mistake again, even grandfather might get angry at us. You have to be careful," Richard reminded his sister.

Sophia understood. She had no choice but to leave Bei Sangyun alone for a while. However, she found another way to annoy her—by seducing the person who was always around her.

If Fei Chuan fell in love with her, Bei Sangyun would be isolated. Since the rumor had already spread, everyone at school would surely change their views about her.

Bei Sangyun would feel more despair if she found out that Fei Chuan left her for her, right?

Sophia felt that it was worth it to expose Bei Sangyun’s origin. She only got scolded a little, but Bei Sangyun’s life would completely change.

She couldn’t wait for Monday to arrive soon.
