As soon as Fei Chuan arrived at the Fei mansion, a butler was sent to his place with the news that his father was summoning him.

Grandma Pei, who was listening on the side, was stunned. The number of times Fei Chuan had met his father could be counted on two hands. Their last encounter was three years ago when Fei Chuan returned to the main mansion after being sent away in some remote province,

Feng Ying Li frowned at his son’s quiet demeanor. This son of his hadn’t even greeted him. They hadn’t seen each other in three years, yet his son showed no enthusiasm. Compared to his other son, this child seemed like a block of wood.

Fei Ying Li sighed, addressing the topic directly, "Why didn’t you tell me?"

Fei Chuan played dumb, "...Tell you what?"

Fei Ying Li’s brow furrowed, not liking Fei Chuan’s attitude. "Your brother found out about your situation at school. Why didn’t you tell me it’s worse? Did you intend to let others mock and bully you as they pleased? Is this how you want to live?"

Fei Chuan remained silent. From the beginning to the end, he stayed motionless, the expression beneath his hair concealed.

Fei Ying Li glanced at him. Seeing his scrawny figure and gloomy appearance, he felt a headache coming on. "And can you do something about your appearance? People bully the weak. With your current look, it’s no wonder they targeted you. Look at your brother and your cousins; all of them have bright personalities. People like them are chosen to be leaders.

"I’m not asking you to catch up with them, I just want you not to embarrass your brother and cousins. If your grandfather hears of this matter—"

Fei Ying Li prattled on, and Fei Chuan lowered his head to conceal the disappointment in his eyes. He had already expected this, so he didn’t get his hopes up. Still, it would be a lie if he said he wasn’t affected by it.

Fei Ying Li had made his decision. He was about to dismiss Fei Chuan when the latter suddenly spoke again.

"I won’t transfer. If you had investigated first before making conclusions based solely on what you heard from a person who wants to destroy me, then you would understand how that place is changing for me.My current situation is far from the past."

Fei Ying Li did not expect that the usually silent Fei Chuan would remain stubborn. He disliked the latter’s tone and questioning of his decision. His face darkened, "Fei Chuan, don’t continue making trouble. I have thin patience."

Fei Chuan stared into his father’s dark eyes. He knew then that his father wouldn’t listen to him, but he remained firm in his words, "I will not transfer. I will graduate from that place. As you said, I don’t have fond memories there, but it doesn’t mean I have to run away or give up just because I was being harassed. I have endured well; why would I leave?"

Fei Chuan turned around and approached the door. There’s no use in staying here. "I can take care of myself and my matters."

"Fei Chuan! This decision is not up to you!"

Fei Chuan remained unmoved and continued walking towards the door.

"If you leave this room, then leave this house! Since you are not going to listen to me anyway, it is better for you to wander around outside!"

Fei Chuan halted in his step and looked back at Fei Ying Li. "Alright."

His nonchalant answer brought fury to Fei Ying Li’s chest.

Fei Chuan opened the door. Before he stepped out, he glanced at him, "Don’t worry; people will easily forget that I was once being bullied. I’ll make sure to clean up this mess, so don’t worry about me staining our family’s reputation. Goodbye for now, ’father.’"

The word ’father’ sounded so insulting and ironic in Fei Ying Li’s ears.

Fei Chuan walked toward his place. When he arrived, he briefly informed Grandma Pei that he had to stay outside for a while, probably a week. Grandma Pei was worried and wanted to follow him to live outside, but Fei Chuan stopped her.
