SSS Ranked Shadow Monarch: Summoning Infinite Shadows-Chapter 215: Meeting Loki
She placed her hand on the glass that separated the VIP section from outside, and instantly it shattered, revealing the powerful figures that stood there.
There were about six figures sitting there, four men and two women, each past their middle ages. One was wearing a casual suit, a sword rested at his waist, his ginger hair was tied into a ponytail, he looked a lot like Julius.
The second was a man with flowing red hair and eyes, he had on a casual white shirt that clung to his body, strained at the buttons, and black trousers, he was the patriarch of the Blade family.
The third was a pale man with black hair and eyes that looked like they could pierce through the abyss. Dressed in a pristine black coat with purple designs, a raven sat on his shoulder.
The fourth man was the most lackluster of the group, wearing a completely normal T-shirt, short buzz cut hair, combat pants, and boots.
The first lady was a stunning beauty despite being older, her beautiful white hair flowed beautifully, she had on pristine armor that hugged her body perfectly, and a sword hung from her waist.
The last was a mage, she seemed to be the youngest here, dressed in a full purple and gold mage outfit, and in her hand was a six foot tall staff with a purple orb floating in the top arch.
Each of them stood there, looking right at the angel, and then at the same time, they all bowed their heads to her.
"Greetings." Their voices resounded.
These were some of the supreme powerhouses of humanity, and yet they bowed their heads instantly to her without hesitation.
For the first time since her arrival, she smiled. "Hello," she said, speaking with a new sense of calmness.
"It has been so long, Lady Crimson," the man with a raven spoke.
"Haha, I see you still all remember me," she said.
"Why would we not? You helped us before," he continued.
"I wouldn’t say I helped, after all, I was the one that conducted the trials for most of you, I mostly caused you pain," she said, then her eyes turned serious. "That being said, now is not the time for any of that, this tournament has been converted.
These are your immediate instructions, the battles can be to the death, and hopefully they are, as the gods are interested in seeing that, they’ll be choosing from the battles," she said.
"As you wish," the man with the raven said, he seemed to be the leader here.
"Good, then I’ll leave it in your hands," she said, and then with a flap of her wings, she vanished completely. The pressure that had been set over the entire arena instantly vanished.
The entire arena remained silent, but it only lasted for a moment.
[Pre trial tournament has now begun, fights will be chosen by the system]
Before anyone could say or do anything, the system took over the entire tournament.
[Rules of engagement, duels will only end through knockout, surrender, or death]
[Points will be awarded, and can be used to purchase items from the system for a limited duration]
[Surrender gives five points]
[Knockout gives ten points]
[Death gives fifty points]
[Countdown till the first duel selection, 1hr]
Every awakened inside the arena, participant or not, received this message, and instantly their hearts fell, because from what they could see, the angels wanted them to kill themselves, and that was the reason why they gave such high points for death.
No one said anything, they all knew the antics of the trials, there was nothing any of them could do about it except follow or die.
With this, every awakened on the platform started leaving, they wanted to get ready for the duels that would start in an hour.
Aren and his group were no different, they walked out, but before he left, he suddenly saw someone that stood out to him in the stands.
It was a figure, he had on a full black coat, a sinister smile, eyes that could see through all, he looked at Aren from that distance and then made a gesture for Aren to come, and then he vanished.
’Who was that?’ Aren instantly wondered.
"Hey Aren, you coming?" Aiden asked.
Aren looked at him, he thought for a moment, then spoke, "Uhm no, you guys go ahead, I have something to handle quickly."
"Oh? Alright," Aiden said, and then left with the rest of the group.
[.....]
Clack clack clack
Aren walked through a hallway, his shadow sense scanning the entire area to ensure there would be no ambush.
"Being cautious are we?"
Aren suddenly heard a voice, he instantly turned around, and right there he saw a figure leaning against the wall, the same figure he had seen before, with emerald eyes that saw all.
’I didn’t detect him with shadow sense, he is definitely powerful.’
"Who are you?" Aren asked.
"Me?" Loki asked with a smile, he propped himself off the wall and started walking toward Aren. "I am someone who shouldn’t be here, but I am, because I have a bit of business to carry out here.
Some call me the trickster, some call me the god of reality, but you, you can call me Loki," he said, leaning in close as he spoke.
Aren’s eyes widened when he heard that, "L-Loki?" he muttered.
"Indeed, you are in the presence of a god," Loki said, and the last part of his sentence carried a certain pressure that forced Aren to take a step back.
’A god? This has to be a joke, right? Some sort of elaborate prank, but who would do that? Who would go out of their way to deceive me or prank me?’
"It’s not a prank, kid," Loki said. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"You can read my mind?" Aren asked in fear.
"No, not really, but I can read your emotions like a book, and they are tied to your thoughts, I can tell what you are thinking about, Aren, or should I say, Nathan."
