Chapter 18 - A Scout Who Can't Steal Is Not A Good Scout

With his God-Level Cooking Talent, Ainsworth was confident that his knife skills were even better than the swordsmanship of the SSS-rank Awakener Sword Saint.

Because of that, Ainsworth decided to become a combat chef for now as that would fully showcase his combat power. It was better than using a sword and learning swordsmanship from scratch.

After his preparations were complete, Ainsworth took a bath and then left his bedroom.

Heading towards the kitchen, he ate breakfast with his sister Kyla and headed to school.

...

After arriving at Edenbridge High using teleportation, Ainsworth headed to his class and encountered Rian and Dante, who were already sitting in their seats.

Rian greeted, "Morning Ains! Do we take on the Otherworld Mission today as we agreed upon yesterday?"

Ainsworth nodded, "Yes, I already prepared my skill set and I can take on the role of Healer, Scout, Assassin, and Chef. Too bad the Otherworld Mission doesn't allow us to bring food and I can't smuggle food in my Spatial Food Storage."

Dante exclaimed, "Damn bro! Your SSS-rank Freedom Freelancer class is too versatile. You could even fulfill all roles if you want to."

Rian commented, "Food shouldn't be a problem depending on the Otherworld we arrive on. It's better if it's a modern world as we can let you steal some food in those convenience stores."

The three of them started chatting about the Otherworld Mission as they had already decided to do it today.

Depending on the Otherworld Mission's difficulty, it was possible to take food with them. However, Ainsworth decided to take the highest-difficulty mission possible so that was no longer possible.

Rian and Dante didn't disagree with his decision as they also wanted to become an SSS-rank Awakener as soon as possible.

Although taking on the lowest-difficulty mission wouldn't affect the chances of becoming an SSS-rank Awakener in the future, it would affect the time it would take to become one.

Furthermore, the earlier an awakener takes on a high-difficulty Otherworld Mission, the earlier they get used to it. It was only possible to take on the lowest difficulty mission before an awakener became an S-rank Awakener.

Otherwise, if they kept on insisting on doing so, they would already lose their chances of becoming an SSS-rank Awakener, let alone surpassing that.

Ainsworth wasn't satisfied with just becoming an SSS-rank Awakener. He wanted to surpass that so taking on the highest difficulty Otherworld Mission in every mission was a crucial part of his plan.

After Rian, Dante, and Ainsworth discussed their plans regarding the Otherworld Mission, their class adviser Mr. Lawson soon started his class and he was mostly lecturing about the Otherworld Mission.

Mr. Lawson didn't dissuade any students from starting the Otherworld Mission today as long as they had already prepared beforehand. After all, if a student didn't neglect their studies, they technically should have prepared for several years now just to awaken their class and partake in the Otherworld Mission.

For example, Rian and Dante might not have prepared skill books for their respective awakener classes as they didn't know it before awakening it, but the money needed was already saved up since they were a child.

Like Ainsworth, Rian and Dante had already used the skill books they purchased yesterday so they were more than ready to take on the Otherworld Mission.

As for equipment, the first Otherworld Mission with the highest difficulty doesn't allow any equipment so the three of them didn't purchase and equip one.

After Mr. Lawson's class, three more teachers lectured until it was finally time for lunch.

As usual, Rian, Dante, and Ainsworth walked in the hallway as they headed to the school cafeteria.

While they were walking in the hallway, Rian couldn't help but comment as he looked at Ainsworth, "Ains, do you really have to show off your class exclusive skill?"

Hearing Rian's comment, Ainsworth chuckled as he was currently walking on the ceiling, defying gravity. He was walking upside down from Rian and Dante's perspective.

As if that wasn't enough, Ainsworth walked on the walls so he was now walking sideways yet he never fell off.

"Well, what can I say? Freedom of Movement is too useful. I can move anywhere I want. Whether it's swimming in land, walking in air, or flying in the water, I can do all those."

In other words, he could move anywhere he wants and in any way he wants. He could even go through walls as if he was equipped with a wallhack.

Dante sighed, "At least that improves your synergy with being a scout and assassin. Rian and I wouldn't have any worries in letting you steal stuff since stealing artifacts or other important otherworld objects is quite common in Otherworld Missions."

Ainsworth retorted, "I'm a scout, not a thief."

Rian shrugged, "A scout who can't steal is not a good scout. A chef who can't fight isn't a good chef. A healer who can't torture isn't a good healer. And an assassin who can't babysit isn't a good assassin."

Damn! As expected of the twenty-first century! Too much demands on one job!
