SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God-Chapter 120: Stop him!
Chapter 120: Stop him!
The sudden appearance of the massive serpent brought chaos to a screeching halt.
Elina unfurled with grace and elegance, her scales a shifting mosaic of yellow and ember-red, glinting like gold in the sunlight. Her eyes were vertical slits of liquid gold, radiating a chilling sentience that made everyone hold their breaths.
"...That’s little to him?" someone whispered in horror.
The snake’s presence warped the air around her, heat waves shimmered unnaturally, and the scent of scorched earth filled the air despite no fire being cast. As she hissed, her tongue forked out with a flick that crackled faint sparks. Her sheer presence alone was suffocating.
"Elina," Damon called casually, lifting a finger toward the seal-dome’s sky. "Break that for me, would you?"
With a terrifying rumble, the snake coiled back, muscles tightening like a loaded spring. Then she launched upward, crashing her fanged maw into the ceiling of the dome. The impact was deafening. Magic lines flared in the sky-blue barrier like a spiderweb snapping in slow motion.
[Ding! Warning: Space Lock Seal integrity compromised. System recalibrating...]
Thorne panicked. "No! Not yet! Stop her!"
Magicaa’s eyes widened. "How powerful is that snake?" However, his expression immediately changed. Without any hesitation, he made his move.
With a flick of his hand, the crimson spell circle beneath his feet expanded, igniting the very air with runes of burning gold. "You’re not the only one with a snake," he murmured coldly.
The flames erupted upward, twisting and coiling into shape, a blazing serpent of pure fire, easily the same size as Elina. Its eyes burned with molten fury, and its tongue lashed like a whip of lava. The summoned beast let out a shrill screech that melted the ground beneath it as it launched itself toward Elina in a flash of fury.
The two titanic reptiles collided mid-air.
The impact coincidentally shook the barrier. Damon saw his opportunity. He shot forward towards the small hole at top speed. Bertram, Thorne, and Magicaa also saw what was happening, but Magicaa was simply not fast enough.
Thorne and Bertam rushed to Damon, but it was already too late. The crimson fire lance blazed to life in Damon’s hand, its molten tip screaming through the air like a meteor on a mission. He hurled it toward the shimmering tear in the collapsing dome, and the moment it struck—
BOOM.
The entire dome exploded in a fiery cascade of mana. Blue shards of sealing magic rained down like glassy hail, disintegrating before they could even touch the ground.
The Space Lock Seal shattered, its structured matrix unraveling violently. The Equipment Lock Seal followed moments later, unable to sustain itself under the assault of Elina’s might and Damon’s devastating timing.
[Ding! Space Lock Seal has been destroyed.]
[Ding! Equipment Lock Seal has been dispelled.]
Freedom surged back into the environment like a tide breaking a dam.
Thorne screamed in frustration, eyes bloodshot. "NO! STOP HIM!"
Bertram was still mid-dash, but Damon had already vanished in a flicker of shadow and crimson flame, teleportation returning the moment the seal dropped.
Elina slammed her body down like a divine hammer, coiling the fiery summon in mid-air and snapping it with a thunderous hiss. The summoned beast shattered into embers that scattered harmlessly in the air.
She slithered down slowly, her golden gaze sweeping across the shell-shocked players. She then unleashed a torrent of hell. Fire and lava spewed out everywhere.
At the same time, Damon’s figure once again reappeared. He was now standing right behind Magicaa. "Hey, I know you. You are the fire guy, aren’t you?" Damon grinned. Here he was hoping for a strong player to fall into his lap, and his prayer had been instantly answered!
"Damon!" Blood Reign urged in his mind. "I have already redone the seal around you, but just to be safe, it is better we get out of here as soon as possible. Don’t fuck around."
Damon nodded. Naturally, he did not plan to stay around, but at the same time, he just couldn’t let this golden opportunity go. Without wasting another second, he slashed the guy’s throat and absorbed his blood essence like there was no tomorrow.
Magicaa looked completely lost. When faced with a closed-range attack and overwhelming on your face power, the mage couldn’t fight back at all. He could only gasp in disbelief as Damon’s hand ripped through the protective runes of his robe like tissue.
Blood sprayed in a fine arc, steam rising as it hit the superheated ground. The glow vanished from Magicaa’s eyes as his throat opened wide and he crumpled, collapsing like a puppet with its strings cut.
[Ding! Blood Extraction is successful.]
[Ding! You have acquired the skill Ember Serpent Invocation (B-Rank, Active)]
Ember Serpent Invocation – Summons a fire elemental serpent composed of living flame.
Damon wiped the blood on his hand and turned just in time to see Elina unleashing another molten breath over the battlefield. The few remaining players were either running or screaming. Thorne was nowhere to be seen. Probably fled. Probably shitting himself.
Time to go. He dismissed the snake and got the hell out of there. Within a few breaths, he reached the nearest city and took the teleportation portal to head back to Nieria. Only after reaching the underground vampire lair, he finally let out a breath of relief.
Damon had actually sensed it. Right as he was using the teleportation portals, he could sense several powerful auras descending down on the forest outskirts near the dungeon. He had just narrowly escaped a big mess.
They were not normal NPCs. He could tell. His hands were still shaking. Whatever they were, Damon knew one thing. If he had delayed even five more seconds, he would’ve been annihilated.
He needs to pull it together fast. Even idiots can sometimes use the right trap, and he would be done for!
Still thinking about the close call, Damon walked over to the blood hall rebuilding panel and submitted the last of the mana cores needed. With the three runs of the fire temple dungeon, he had more than enough normal mana cores and elite mana cores.
