Chapter 1804: DOWN BITCH Pt.3

"The Yulin Sect was annihilated?" Kou Chongxue and Shang Xia gasped in unison.

As soon as they did, they instinctively exchanged glances, each seeing the shock in the other’s eyes.

However, while Kou Chongxue was completely surprised, Shang Xia showed a hint of contemplation.

"Do we know the specific reason?" Shang Xia thought for a moment and continued asking.

The Yulin Sect was one of the Elysium-level powers of the Spirit Tip World. At present, its overall strength ranked only in the middle or lower classes among the other Elysium powers.

However, not long ago, the Yulin Sect was the leading martial force of the Spirit Tip World. It was due entirely to their former sect master, True Immortal Guan Ziqing, who had, almost single-handedly, fended off Yan Yu for over 100 years.

Even after Guan Ziqing’s death, the Yulin Sect still had an Elysium True Immortal and another True Immortal to hold the fort. Along with the legacy left behind by Guan Ziqing and the prestige earned from sacrificing his martial potential to stand against Yan Yu, the sect had more than enough foundation to pass on its legacy smoothly in the Spirit Tip World.

What’s more, before his death, Guan Ziqing had advised his successors to keep a low profile. So when factions in the Spirit Tip World began to lead towards the Essence Du World, the Yulin Sect didn’t hesitate to abandon Guan Ziqing’s century-old stance and pledged allegiance to the Essence Du World, even receiving personal forgiveness from Sage Yan Yu.

Given all that, how could the Yulin Sect possibly be destroyed?

It was unthinkable for any local faction in the Spirit Tip World to turn against them. After all, that would only weaken their collective strength and further diminish the Spirit Tip World’s standing in the Essence Du Heavenly Field.

But if it was someone from the Essence Du World, who would dare ignore Sage Yan Yu’s forgiveness?

True Immortal Gao Qin also found it hard to believe, but she still relayed what she had heard. "They say a high-level female cultivator stormed directly into the Yulin Elysium."

"A female high-level True Immortal from the Essence Du World?" Shang Xia was shocked, yet there was a flicker of understanding in his eyes. He glanced toward Kou Chongxue and saw that the latter seemed to have thought of something as well. "Was there any reason why she didn’t appear at the battle along the border of Heavenly Field?"

Shang Xia had originally thought he had tied down all of the Essence Du World’s high-level True Immortals, aside from the Elysium True Immortals. He hadn’t expected another female high-level True Immortal to appear in the Spirit Tip World.

True Immortal Gao Qin nodded. "The Spirit Tip World doesn’t know much about her either. But it’s said she’s... not quite normal and seems a bit deranged. Though her attack on the Yulin Elysium looked like a classic tactic to kill the leader to defeat her enemies, which Elysium wasn’t fortified by centuries of effort? They’re not that easy to breach. However, she charged in recklessly, as if determined to perish together with the Yulin Sect. In the end, the sect wasn’t completely destroyed, but their True Immortals were killed. Even if the sect still exists, it’s now a shadow of its former self."

Chu Jia gasped, "No wonder the Essence Du World’s fleet suddenly distanced itself from the Spirit Tip World’s forces outside the heavenly screen. Still, it looks like the Essence Du World was provoking the Spirit Tip World, so why was it that their fleet backed away?"

Kou Chongxue sneered, "There were certainly other Spirit Tip World factions involved behind the scenes. The other Elysiums were definitely part of the operation as well. The timing was too precise, happening right as we launched our strike. Naturally, the Essence Du World assumed some friendly force in the Spirit Tip World was colluding with us, trying to provoke internal conflict to help us from within."

Shang Xia thought for a moment and slowly nodded in agreement. He and Kou Chongxue both understood that the mastermind behind everything, especially someone who could manipulate the high-level True Immortal to storm the Yulin Sect, had to be their resident piece of shit.

What they didn’t know was how Youshang had managed to pull it off, nor what eventually happened to that mysterious female cultivator.

Unfortunately, since they had already withdrawn from the Essence Du Heavenly Field, they likely wouldn’t hear any updates for a while.

After reviewing the events of their expedition and piecing together some of the causes, the True Immortals in the cabin began to take their leave.

As the Essence Luxuriant World fleet returned, and with the 2 Sages unlikely to appear publicly, all operational matters would fall to the True Immortals.

With all the True Immortals gone, Shang Xia turned to Kou Chongxue with a serious expression and asked, "Earlier, you said you could forcibly tear open the void and return to our Heavenly Field. Is that true?"

Kou Chongxue looked surprised and asked, "Of course it's true. Can’t you do it?”

Shang Xia slowly shook his head.

Kou Chongxue looked even more puzzled. "That’s strange. When I became a Sage, I sensed a resonance with our World’s Will. At that moment, I knew I’d be able to return easily. The soul I anchored to the World Origin Source would serve as the tether. But activating the technique would place a huge burden on me and drain a large amount of world origin."

Then he looked at Shang Xia and asked, "This shouldn't be unfamiliar to you. Didn’t you once use the World Origin Source in the Spirit Ruling World to recall your stone rod? Isn’t that basically the same principle?"

But Shang Xia shook his head. "I can’t return as easily as you said. Perhaps our World’s Will no longer recognize me. When I advanced to the Seven Star Realm, I didn’t experience any deep resonance with our World’s Will.”

Kou Chongxue was dumbfounded. "How is that possible?"

Shang Xia, already forming a theory in his mind, smiled and explained, "It’s probably because I have few ties to our Essence Luxuriant World. My cultivation isn’t rooted here, and I can withdraw my soul from the World Origin Source at any time.”

Kou Chongxue’s expression turned complicated. He hesitated before mumbling, "You..."

Shang Xia chuckled, "Maybe our World’s Will feels like I no longer owe it anything. If anything, it’s the one who owes me a debt of gratitude."

During the remainder of the return journey, perhaps because the surrounding Heavenly Fields were all busy digesting their share of the Heaven Observation Field, or perhaps due to Kou Chongxue’s intimidating strength at the second star of the Martial Emptiness Realm, the Essence Luxuriant World’s fleet, with its conspicuously large fragment of the Spirit Tip World in tow, encountered no real trouble. Aside from some distant surveillance and tailing, the journey was uneventful until they returned to the Essence Luxuriant Heavenly Field.

Throughout their journey, Kou Chongxue, who hadn’t been injured, just severely drained of inner qi, had fully recovered his combat strength.

In contrast, Shang Xia’s internal injuries, caused by prolonged overexertion in battle, would take far longer to heal.
