Sovereign of the Ashes-Chapter 1445: Destroy Laws
When Sein led the Divine Tower of Ashes legion to the outer reaches of Radbow Plane, the Magus Civilization’s forces were already in the middle of a fierce assault on the low-level world.
He learned that aside from his own legion, another order of knights and two allied foreign gods were also taking part in the siege.
Compared to the major fronts he had fought on before, like Black Tide Plane, the war effort on Radbow World was on a much smaller scale.
Magus World had deployed only four Rank Four beings to this battlefield, including Sein, who had just arrived.
On the opposing side, Radbow World had only three Rank Four enemies left: two were native radioactive creatures, and the third was an Eye Demon sent in as reinforcement.
“I heard there were two Rank Four Eye Demons on Radbow, but one of them—a peak Rank Four—was taken down by a Magus World mage with help from the others,” Sein murmured.
“The Divine Tower of Ashes was assigned to this front mainly to rotate in and replace that wounded Rank Four mage,” he added, gazing down at the plane.
Below, countless mages were still active across Radbow World’s surface.
Most were registered under the Divine Tower of Deep Blue, known for its many summoners.
“Deep Blue, huh... I think I visited that tower once during my travels,” Sein mumbled, rubbing his chin.[1]
Standing in the command center of the Ashen Fortress, he ordered, “Deploy half of the Pyreling legions and mage forces to assist in taking down the remaining two planar rings outside Radbow. The rest of the combat legions, follow me into the plane!”
The Magus Alliance assigned missions according to each mage’s past battle record and life level.
So even though Sein possessed the strength to challenge Rank Five creatures, the alliance still listed him under Rank Four assignments for the time being.
Only after he completed more campaigns and continued to prove his power would the alliance raise his classification, entrusting him with higher-risk and more critical operations.
As for his previous covert infiltration deep within Gallant Federation territory, the alliance had never revealed its full details.
Only those with access to the classified mission files had an idea of what Sein was truly capable of.
For most Rank Five and Rank Six powerhouses in the Alliance, Sein’s name probably did not even ring a bell.
Sein had only managed to draw some attention during the Magus Alliance Conference because of the sensitive nature of the motion he proposed.
But in the end, it had been nothing more than a “delusional” suggestion.
With the Clash of Civilizations raging now, most people had likely forgotten it altogether.
The Ashen Fortress was easily the largest and most advanced war fortress among all Magus World fortresses deployed to the battlefield.
At present, three space fortresses hovered around Radbow Plane.
One belonged to Sein, another to a Rank Four knight named Tychus, and the third to the Divine Tower of Deep Blue.
The Tower Master of Deep Blue was a man of integrity.
Though severely wounded and forced to temporarily withdraw from the frontlines, he had left the fortress and a contingent of his mages behind on Radbow World.
That decision greatly eased the pressure on the Magus Civilization’s legions fighting here.
“Master Sein, you’ve finally arrived,” Tychus greeted as the Ashen Fortress descended toward Radbow World.
The enemies on this plane were anything but easy to deal with.
Radbow’s unique radiation energy granted a massive advantage to its native creatures and the Eye Demons.
On the other hand, the Magus World legions and allied forces struggled. The intense radiation field weakened their strength and drained their stamina.
Tychus and his forces had been fighting the radioactive creatures and Eye Demons across the three planar rings encircling the world.
It was Barron, the Rank Four Tower Master of Deep Blue, who ultimately turned the tide. Leading his summoned forces, he shattered Radbow’s outer defenses, slayed a peak Rank Four Eye Demon, and breached the outermost ring.
His success had finally pushed the war into the plane itself.
In other words, Sein’s arrival came at a time when the hardest part had already been done! Barron, the injured grand Summoner, had already cracked the toughest nut on Radbow Plane before leaving.
The battles that followed were far less grueling than those that had dragged on over the previous decade.
Tychus and the other Magus World powerhouses had already heard through certain channels that the Divine Tower of Ashes was a relatively new organization, one that had only taken part in a handful of interplanar wars so far.
Though some worried that Sein’s strength might not measure up to the grand Summoner’s, one look at the design and sheer scale of the Ashen Fortress quickly put those doubts to rest.
“Given the unique nature of Radbow, the alliance will likely dispatch another Rank Four knight and a few foreign gods to reinforce the battlefield soon. Master Sein, shouldn’t we stabilize the frontlines first?” Tychus asked, watching the Divine Tower of Ashes legion already engage the enemy as violent elemental waves rippled across the planar ring beyond the plane.
“Sir Tychus, the Rank Four ratio between us and the enemy is four to three. Our legion far outmatches theirs in overall strength. I see no reason to wait any longer!” Sein replied.
“But the planar laws here are strange. A forceful assault could cause heavy casualties, and the Eye Demon legions from nearby planes will very likely send reinforcements again,” Tychus argued, frowning slightly.
He was not a reckless fighter, but a capable and tactical knight.
“Then we seize this low-level plane before those reinforcements even arrive,” Sein countered. “As for the planar laws... we’ll figure out a way to deal with them.”
With his vast experience and strength, Sein was unwilling to be held back by a small battlefield like this.
He had fought in interplanar wars where over ten or even twenty Rank Four powerhouses had clashed.
Back then, Black Tide Plane itself was nearly left in ruins, with all its life erased. How could a mere world like Radbow Plane hope to slow him down?
WHOOSH!
Yuri’s Burning Flame Unit shot out from the Ashen Fortress.
Recognizing that the construct was a Rank Four combatant, Tychus’ eyes widened in realization.
With another ally like that, the Magus Civilization’s forces here finally had the momentum to go on the offensive.
“Is he a mage who has the support of many allies, just like Master Barron? A mechanic...?” Tychus wondered silently as he watched the crimson mecha soar overhead, then hover around Sein like a guardian.
But Sein would soon show Tychus through action alone that he was no mechanic but a pure Elementalist!
A surge of violent pyro energy gathered at the tip of his magic rod.
Powered by the newly installed pyro-elemental Star Core, his flames erupted with a ferocity unlike anything before!
Like most Magus World powerhouses, Sein had no mercy for traitors.
He raised his magic rod toward the core of the Radbow Plane.
If this world’s laws were holding their forces back, then he would simply change them—or destroy them outright!
1. Translator’s Note: Divine Tower of Deep Blue was also known as “Deep Blue Summoning Divine Tower” back in Chapter 543. Sein had stayed there for a few years. ☜
