Chapter 1380: Lifesaving Elixir

The excruciating pain jolted Sein back to consciousness after drifting through the starry void.

He could not have been out for long, for he still found himself amidst the battlefield close to Nexon.

The war continued to rage on.

Nexon was now in the throes of destruction. A terrifying energy beam from the depths of space had pierced its core, triggering a full collapse.

Though artificial, Nexon’s sheer size and complexity rivaled that of a medium-sized plane.

To think the Gallant Federation possessed a superweapon capable of wiping out such a world of such caliber!

Sein had witnessed clashes between Rank Six beings before, but the blinding white beam that had torn across the void eclipsed anything he had ever seen!

It was stronger than the power wielded by a Rank Six creature. The Gallant Federation’s technological weaponry was truly terrifying.

Nexon’s fall meant more than the annihilation of the countless robots that had failed to escape. It forced the survivors into a desperate, do-or-die resolve.

For the intelligent robots, Nexon had been more than a home. Watching it destroyed before their very eyes drove many to fight to the bitter end.

And beyond Nexon’s ruin, the destruction of the BHR678 Space Station had likely planted a burning hatred for the federation deep in the hearts of high-tier robots like Titanfang.

The battle raged fiercer than ever!

Thankfully, that devastating beam had not been aimed at Sein and his group. Warned in time by the Faceless Mask, he had done everything he could to evade it.

Everything that happened in those few seconds had spelled the difference between life and death!

Sein concluded that the unimaginably powerful strike must have come from a weapon similar to the main cannon of a Magus Civilization space fortress.

It was devastating against fixed targets, but tracking and hitting something smaller and agile was another matter entirely.

For now, at least, no fleet or fortress on the scale of an overlord-level being had appeared in the Nexon Star Domain.

Likewise, no overlord-class mobile suits, nor a second volley of such terrifying strikes, had followed. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

The searing pain ripping through his body finally forced Sein to look down.

Good grief. Both of his legs had been obliterated by the blast’s shockwave.

Large chunks of flesh and bone were also missing from his left shoulder and abdomen.

From Rank Two onward, Magus World mages could shift their bodies into elemental forms, greatly improving resilience and survivability.

With Sein’s advancement to Rank Four, his elemental body had evolved into a stronger lawful body.

And yet, even that formidable body had nearly been undone by nothing more than the shockwave of that white beam that destroyed Nexon.

That alone showed just how insignificant Rank Four beings were in wars between top-tier civilizations.

Sein was not the only one. Many of Nexon’s Rank Four and above intelligent robots had already been reduced to metal scrap in this battle!

Gritting his teeth against the splitting headache, Sein forced his fading mental focus into regrowing his lost limbs.

However, the mended flesh did little to hide how dire his condition truly was.

A deep blue beam suddenly shot toward him, punching through his shoulder again.

It came from a federal fleet vessel.

The surrounding chaos, filled with drifting wreckage, made it nearly impossible for Sein’s blurred senses to pinpoint the attacker’s exact location.

And this was only one strike among many.

Weakened and gravely injured, Sein could no longer deflect these beams that he could once absorb with his lawful body or deflect with his magic shields. Now, each hit left him reeling in pain.

Fortunately, he was a body tempering Mage, and he had the Faceless Mask.

Any ordinary Rank Four mage would have perished back when Nexon’s shockwave first swept through.

That said, ordinary Rank Four mages would likely never have been sent on infiltration missions this dangerous in the first place.

Sein knew better than anyone how bad his state really was. His life essence had been ravaged far more than the surface wounds suggested.

The shockwave had struck hardest at his legs and shoulder.

A direct hit to Sein’s skull would have scattered his sea of consciousness. Even a mage with superior body tempering, like Gregory, would not have survived that.

The brain remained the weakest point of any Magus World mage. Even transforming into elemental or law bodies could not fully protect it.

Sein’s severe injuries and damaged life essence had reduced him to a shadow of himself.

With federal ships tightening their net from every direction, breaking out in this state was nothing short of a pipe dream.

Amidst the chaos, even reaching Titanfang was nearly impossible.

All Sein could make out were a few scattered high-tier intelligent robots still locked in combat, but they were far too distant to lend him any immediate help.

Ordinary robot legions still fought nearby, but what real aid could they possibly give?

In moments like this, he could only rely on himself.

Barely clinging to strength, Sein teleported to the shaded side of a wrecked warship. The moment he landed, he released Yuri from her living spatial device.

Keeping her out of the battlefield until now had been his wisest decision.

Otherwise, Sein would not even have had someone left to draw fire for him if a Rank Four federal fleet had suddenly struck.

Now, with Yuri guarding him and keeping the perimeter clear, Sein quickly pulled a faintly glowing golden vial from his space conch.

The Golden Apple Potion!

In battles like these, survival came down to how many trump cards and contingencies one had prepared.

It seemed like having a world-class secret treasure alone was not enough. Without the Golden Apple Potion, Sein’s chances of survival would have been grim.

He downed the potion in one gulp, then forced himself into a shallow meditative state despite the chaos raging around him, hastening the absorption of the elixir’s power into his battered body.

Meanwhile, Yuri had already launched herself into combat against several federal ships that had entered the area.

The Golden Apple Potion had been brewed from the most precious Golden Apple fruit and other rare, high-grade ingredients.

As expected of a concoction crafted by Lorianne, the moment it entered his system, Sein felt a flood of warmth and pure elemental energy surge through his body.

On a battlefield this unforgiving, potions like this were the only true lifelines for beings of Rank Four and above!
