Souls Online: Mythic Ascension-Chapter 425: Put it to a Vote
After about fifteen minutes, the doors of the gym opened and the girls started filing in. Rachel was the first one to reach Leo, her eyes gleaming with mischief as she asked "How was your meeting with your biggest fan~?"
Leo’s eyes narrowed with annoyance as he quickly realized that Jamie had already met the girls. However, unwilling to be on the losing end of this conversation, he furrowed his brow with a smirk and responded with "You mean Greg’s ex? Yeah."
While feeling a bit guilty for revealing something Greg would label as shameful, Leo thought it was worth it to see the look of utter disbelief on her face.
"What did you just say?" she asked, her eyes shaking as she glanced towards Greg who looked like he wanted to break something and Jamie who was now on his knees being chastised by Morgan.
Luna was also surprised that Greg had such a past while Lily had a look of sympathy on her face. "That little shit probably tricked him with his appearance."
Rachel’s jaw dropped before a mischievous grin began creeping back onto her face. "Oh, this is so much better than I imagined," she said with glee. "Old Man, I didn’t know you liked them cute and chaotic. Or should I call you Greggy~?"
Greg glared at her so hard she almost flinched. "Don’t. Start."
Rachel’s grin only widened. "Too late. But don’t worry, your secret is safe with me~!"
Adam rolled his eyes and remarked "Yeah. Safe...That’s like an alcoholic promising not to drink alcohol when trapped in a brewery."
Rachel took a step back from them and held a hand to her chest with her mouth agape, clearly faking being offended.
"You wound me good sir. Do you really think I would do something like that?"
Luna who had come to speak to Leo had overheard the verbal sparring between Adam and Rachel. She threw a suspicious glare at the monkey girl and stole the response Adam was about to say: "Yes.."
Rachel froze for a moment before looking back at Luna and flashing her a cheeky grin and a thumbs up.
"You’re goddamn right!"
Vivian kept stealing glances at Jamie from the corner of her as she approached Ethan who looked like he could pass out at any second.
"What happened to you?" she asked as Ethan’s legs trembled like he was a baby deer. He shakily pointed his finger at Greg and whispered "The Devil did this to me....Also did you see that Jamie guy? I can’t believe there is a guy can look....why are you blushing?"
Ethan’s words died in his throat as he noticed Vivian’s blush. To him, she was a literal iron woman but here she was blushing like a girl in love. His eyes widened in shock as he started talking in total disbelief.
"Really Sis?! Are you falling for that?! Sis, your tastes are certainly....OOF!"
Before he could finish his sentence, a fist dug into his stomach, doubling him over as Vivian raised her voice "Greg! My bastard little brother called you a Devil!". Her tone was a little off but the only ones who noticed were the ones who knew her well: Aria and Ethan.
Aria floated a mischievous smile of her own as Greg whose anger hadn’t subsided yet. Hearing that Ethan had insulted him, Greg instantly snapped "Why aren’t you moving? Did I tell you to stop running?! Move it Asshole!"
Greg’s rage instantly got Ethan running even as he stumbled from the stomach pain that Vivian gave. He wasn’t sure why his vision was blurry, was it sweat or his tears? He didn’t know nor did he want to.
Crystal, who had been quiet as she watched the chaos unfold, finally spoke up.
"So what was the important thing that required us to pause our Girls night and hang out at the gym. Is it because of Morgan’s brother? Do you want to punish him for seeing us in our night time clothes or something?"
Leo, Adam, Ethan and Morgan froze up for a brief moment. With the exception of Morgan who had a look of exasperation on his face, the others took on murderous glares directed towards the kneeling Jamie. Jamie started to sweat as his chest constricted from the painful glares from the three powerful boys.
Seeing his brother going pale and struggling to breathe, Morgan shot a desperate look to Leo who recalled the effect of Level suppression amongst players. He quickly recalled his gaze, but simmered with discontent as he nudged Adam with his elbow who begrudgingly followed suit.
Ethan was the only one who didn’t stop but sensing that her brother was the cause of it, Vivian leisurely picked up a nearby metal water bottle and with pin point precision threw it at Ethan where it struck him directly on his forehead. A dull echoing noise rang out as he collapsed to the ground with steam rising from his forehead, knocked completely unconscious.
Rachel’s lips twitched as she struggled to contain her laughter again while everyone but Vivian shared one singular thought as they looked at Ethan’s limp form.
It echoed. He got hit in the head and it echoed....
Faking a cough, Leo tried his best to redirect the conversation back to the topic at hand.
"Ahem! The reason I called the girls here is that we need to put something to a vote. Everyone here has equal say in this matter as it will apply to everyone here."
Lily’s eyes narrowed with suspicion as she shifted her gaze to Adam, asking with her eyes if Leo was about to say what she thought he was going to say. Adam met her gaze for a moment before looking away, not daring to answer her as he could tell somehow that she was in a really bad mood.
"Fuck....." she sighed heavily with annoyance, her words only heard by those with the ones with the most sensitive hearing.
Rachel, Aria and Luna glanced at Lily for a brief moment but their eyes widened in understanding when Leo spoke.
"Jamie has been deemed compatible with the last Zodiac. We need to put it to a vote if we accept him or not."
