Chapter 234: Chapter 234: Blaming Him, Resenting Him, Hating Him

Upon hearing Evelyn Morgan’s question, Caden Lockwood’s expression did not show any extra change. He merely looked at Evelyn with more seriousness.

Evelyn had been waiting for Caden’s response, but after a long while, he still showed no sign of speaking.

She became a bit annoyed and couldn’t help but say angrily, "Why are there so many secrets that can’t be revealed! It’s just that because of him, I might have died long ago. I just want to know his identity to thank him! Is it necessary to hide and avoid me like I’m poison? If I find out who he is, will he lose a piece of flesh?"

Listening to Evelyn’s words, a deep emotion flashed in Caden’s eyes.

He rarely saw her angry.

But right now, she was clearly anxious and upset.

Does she really want to see him so much?

Even if she sees him, what then?

Isn’t he standing right in front of her now?

"If it’s just to say thank you, you can find someone to say it for you, right?" Caden said casually, "Why do you have to say it yourself?"

"Sincerity!" Evelyn rolled her eyes at Caden, "If I stepped on you and asked Aunt May to apologize to you, would you be happy?"

Caden fell silent again, his thin lips pressed tightly, displaying displeasure on his handsome face.

Evelyn bit her lip, feeling somewhat guilty.

She knew it was wrong to vent her emotions on Caden.

However, she found it absurd.

What does her existence mean to Big Brother?

"I’m sorry," she apologized softly, "I shouldn’t have lost my temper with you."

"Aunt May has almost finished cooking," Caden said blandly, "Gather your emotions and come downstairs to eat."

Evelyn’s lips curled awkwardly as she watched Caden’s retreating figure. She seemed to sense his anger.

Was he... angry?

With her mouth pouting, Evelyn sat dejectedly in place, completely lacking the mood to eat.

Picking up her phone, she called Cecilia Lynch again, but no one answered.

She couldn’t help but worry.

What on earth happened between Cecilia and Julian Keaton?

Looking inadvertently at the messages she exchanged with L on the phone, Evelyn couldn’t find anyone to confide in and instinctively sent him a message.

"There is a question I really want answered, but no one is willing to tell me. It feels so frustrating, like I’m some unwanted tumor." Evelyn sent.

"Bad mood?" L replied quickly, "Don’t be upset over trivial matters. Sometimes, you’re not in the other person’s shoes. What seems easy for you to say might not be easy for others. Otherwise, no one would choose to hide things."

Evelyn pouted, "But I really want to know! That person is important to me!"

"If someone is that important to you, you shouldn’t be impatient." L replied, "What you should give them is unconditional support and trust, and not make things difficult for them."

Reading her conversation with L over and over again, Evelyn took a deep breath, the gloom in her heart gradually lessening.

That’s right!

If Big Brother is so important to her, she should understand him.

If he hasn’t shown himself, there must be a reason.

And she blamed him, got angry at him, and resented him because he wouldn’t acknowledge her—thinking back, she realized she was being quite unreasonable!

Moreover, from Aunt May’s words, Evelyn had already inferred that Big Brother was by her side.

A spark of determination flickered in her eyes. As long as she carefully tested and sensed among the three potential men around her, she was confident she would find him!
