Slime Leveling [Litrpg, Timeloop]-Chapter 209—Demons Actually Betrayed
"Wolf#1," Little Slime patted the white-horned wolf beneath him.
"Lightning Ball." Wolf#1 cast. A purple magic rune flashed over his horn.
A basketball-sized lightning ball manifested from the magic rune.
Wolf#1 hurled the ball at the huge gold orb, which was rushing towards Mama Slime.
'What's that?' Mama Slime thought, frowning.
She tried moving her body, but couldn't even budge due to the pressure from the energy orb.
The lightning ball appeared in front of the gold orb and collided with it.
Boom!
The sound echoed, and smoke filled the room.
The three-meter golden orb remained untouched.
The gold orb connected with Mama Slime in the next moment.
"No!" both Little Slime and Wolf#1 roared.
A huge white light flashed, blinding everyone's vision.
After a few moments, Little Slime opened his eyes with tearful eyes.
Wob!
He jumped down, then paused as Mama Slime was perfectly fine.
She was checking herself by patting her body left and right.
Wob!
Mama Slime grinned at him. "I'm fine. The orb just... went inside my body."
But for a fleeting second, something golden flickered in her eyes.
"Are you fine?" Little Slime asked nervously, glancing at Mama Slime from all sides.
Mama Slime wobbled with a wide smile. "I'm fine. Don't worry."
"Do you feel any change?" Wolf#1 narrowed his eyes.
"No, I'm the same as before," Mama Slime replied, patting herself.
"Appraisal," Wolf#1 muttered.

Wolf#1 tilted his head, musing. 'No change.'
"Let's go," Mama Slime yelled as she bounced out.
Little Slime leaped back onto Wolf#1 and commanded, "Follow her."
Averon and Elder Slime finally met with Mama Slime and the gang after a few minutes on the stairs.
Wob! Mama Slime jumped onto Averon, spotting him.
Averon hugged Mama Slime tightly.
Mama Slime rubbed Averon's face with her soft body and patted his face with her short hands, smiling. "I missed you, my child."
'For them, it has only been a few hours since the moment I entered the trial's magic array. Averon's eyes dulled.
His hand shook for a moment. 'Just how would she have reacted in other timelines... as I died.'
He sighed silently. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Wob! Mama Slime landed back on the ground and asked, "Did you succeed in acquiring the king's mark?"
Averon and Elder Slime glared at Mama Slime, narrowing their eyes.
"What's wrong?" Mama Slime wobbled.
"Nothing," Averon shook his head.
"I gained the mark." He showed his palm, on which the crown mark shone for a moment.
"You did it, my lord!" Cow#1, Bull#1, Wolf#1—everyone looked at Averon with bright smiles.
Wob! Slimes without intellect simply bounced around in the back like usual.
All of a sudden, a black spark appeared out of Averon's body.
'This is—' he recalled Remora's words as he eyed the spark.
He couldn't forget the black slime's words. 'Break the seal.'
"What is that?" the old slime asked, raising his eyes.
The spark shot up, climbing the stairs at a slow pace.
"Let's follow it," Averon uttered, following it from behind.
He followed the spark to the ground floor.
The moment he appeared out of the stairway, he glanced around.
The hall and corridors at the end were extraordinarily extravagant—with trinkets, paintings, and big chandeliers hanging from the ceiling.
A red carpet lay on the floor.
What attracted Averon's attention was not the extraordinary hall, nor the dust collected on the floor and ceiling, nor even the dimmed magic array beneath the carpet or on the walls.
Rather—'What's this chill?' He frowned. 'It's familiar.'
"This... is Eldritch," Averon whispered, raising his brows.
However, the spark wasn't interested in waiting for him.
It kept going through the stairs to the upper floors. Averon dashed out, following it to Floor Ten.
Floor Ten was similar to the ground floor, except the magic runes were perfectly fine and working.
Averon trembled. 'No doubt… Eldritch is present… here.'
'How could Eldritch be here?' he thought internally, as black energy spread all over from the hall and the corridor's rooms.
The magic array shone with light violet, stopping the black energy from flowing out—yet small amounts of black energy leaked out, spreading a bone-chilling coldness.
"So those adventurers were telling the truth all along?" he muttered, sighing. "What made demons betray the world?"
The spark continued climbing.
Averon's brows knitted together as he took one last look at the hall before continuing to climb.
---
After a few moments—
Cow#1 stopped on Floor Nine, trembling. "I won't come."
"Why?" Bull#1 asked, tilting his head.
"Don't you feel the chill?" Cow#1 asked back. She glanced down and noticed her legs trembling nonstop.
Mama Slime didn't change her expression as she kept climbing.
Elder Slime reached the tenth floor. His body wobbled as he almost fell back onto the stairs.
"This is impossible," he cried, his voice stammering.
His core thumped as he glanced at the black energy.
He perfectly remembered the words spoken by the adventurers he had interrogated in the Ruins City Lunxia.
'The demons have betrayed the world.'
"This is a dream, right?" the old slime muttered, panting.
"No… demons would never do this," he murmured.
Elder Slime fell silent, staring at the black energy leaking out.
"Why? Why did they do this?" He roared after a few moments.
Mama Slime narrowed her eyes and muttered, "I hate this energy."
She wobbled the next moment. "Why? Why do I hate this?" She narrowed her eyes.
After a few moments, Old Slime sighed. "So, what actually happened for demons to fall so low?"
He clenched his fists. 'I must find out the truth… There must be a reason for all this.'
---
On the other side, Averon reached Floor 502.
The moment he stepped onto the floor, he noticed the difference.
There wasn't a single room, nor a corridor on the floor—only a hall with no furniture, nor decoration.
A golden carpet was laid on the floor.
A single violet coffin, inscribed with various differently colored magic runes, floated in mid-air.
Large three-meter violet magic runes shone on all sides of the coffin.
Long, firm, heavy violet chains extended out from the runes and coiled around the coffin, binding it tightly—and a large violet-colored magic rune covered the entire hall.
'I cannot move,' Averon realized, as black ice formed over his body.
The cold was not natural. It was deliberate.
His core stopped moving.
'I might freeze to death,' he thought grimly.
The coffin pulsed once.
