Slime Leveling [Litrpg, Timeloop]-Chapter 186—Infiltrate a village
Giliberu glanced at Gililo, who was grinning crazily at him.
Giru was ready to fight against him if he stopped him from getting women.
Giliberu glanced at everyone, at his dwelling, which was newly built, and at the mattress, sharp yet better than sleeping on rocks and sand.
He took a glance at everyone with a sigh and said, "From now on, I'm no longer your lord."
Goblins opened their mouths wide, and Giru's weapon dropped to the floor.
Gililo grinned, clapping his hands.
"I taught you everything to survive—hunting, hiding, and building," Giliberu said, with his hands behind his back.
"Now, it's time to follow your own path," he ordered with a stern glare. "I won't lead you to that path… but you cannot sustain without it…."
He paused. Taking a deep breath, he added, "Since I'm the problem… I must leave."
"Sorry, lord, we can only take this path," Giru yelled, tears in his eyes, as he fell to his knees.
Everyone followed except for Gililo, who just clenched his jaw and glanced at them.
"It's not your fault, lord," a goblin said, who had a large scar on his chest.
"But we can only follow this path," another goblin added.
"Forgive us, lord," Giru said, closing his eyes.
"Live well," Giliberu said, and glanced at Gilo, who was still trying to break free from Demonic Binds.
"It's farewell…" he added, as he walked out with heavy steps. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Goblins watched him leave in silence.
'I hope you'll survive,' Giliberu mused. 'I wanted to train them more, but…' He clicked his tongue.
Even the strongest among them was only level 19. He doesn't know whether they could stand up in a tough world.
'You have chosen this…' he thought, as he went forward after taking one last glance at the goblins who were still unresponsive.
Next day—
The sun shone brightly in the sky.
"Shapeshift," Giliberu cast, transforming into a bent old man holding a wooden stick in his hand for support.
He was clad in a ragged grey tunic and trousers.
"I should learn a spell which can form clothes from mana," he muttered, narrowing his eyes at a small village, a little farther away.
A human village with humans roaming back and forth. Smoke rose from the wooden buildings' chimneys.
"It's a small village," he said as he stood before the wooden entrance arch.
The name "Sera Village" was written in the bold words of the human tongue, Herica.
"Old man," a middle-aged man clad in a ragged tunic, rushed forward and supported Giliberu.
He asked, "What brings you here, old man?... Do you have any relatives?"
Giliberu replied, holding the middle-aged man's arm with a shaking arm, "Goblins… stinky goblins kidnapped my granddaughter… I'm searching for her."
He gritted his teeth with a scowl.
The middle-aged man sighed bitterly. Patting Giliberu's back, he said, "Old man, rest for a day here… I'll call for support."
"My granddaughter…" Giliberu went all out in acting as he clenched the man's arm tightly. He said, "I cannot waste time… they will torture my granddaughter if I don't rush in."
'You cannot even stand up properly,' the man scoffed internally, but still held Giliberu's hand.
He said, "Old man, you cannot fight against them… I'll call for support."
He added, pulling Giliberu to the village, "Just rest here until I bring a strong fighter."
Giliberu was brought to the village.
The village had around forty wooden houses of one story.
And the village was built in the shape of a circle.
"Who is he?"
"It seems he is lost…"
"What happened, Hearts? Who is that old man?"
Villagers surrounded Giliberu. Hearts shook his head as he replied, "I'll tell you all at once with Bailiff Lion."
Thud!
The man knocked on the building in the center, which was one story, like every house.
A middle-aged man, with clean blond hair, clad in a clean and neat woolen tunic—a yellow shirt, and black trousers—appeared, asking, "What happened?"
"This old man…" Hearts explained the matter.
Villagers muttered angrily, "Those goblins… why doesn't the gods kill them?"
"It's not the first time."
"Even the bailiff's wife is kidnapped...what a world."
"I heard they even kidnapped the princess of Zethia."
"What?"
"…."
".."
Villagers began discussing.
Bailiff Lion glared at the old man and asked, "What happened? Explain clearly."
Giliberu said, with shaking hands, "My granddaughter was kidnapped by goblins on the way to Zethia."
"Why did they leave you alive?" Hearts asked. "Usually, goblins kill everyone and only take women."
"Because my granddaughter is very powerful, she killed almost everyone, and the last one won with heavy injuries… he took her away and didn't focus on me," Giliberu said with tears forming in his eyes.
"It seems that damn goblin wanted to toy with you," Bailiff Lion said, clenching his fists, "Some goblins like to play around."
Giliberu was taken into a guest room of the Bailiff's house.
"I'll contact adventurers…" Lion said. "Wait here until they appear."
He walked out.
Giliberu glanced at the room. It had two cotton couches, facing each other.
A large wooden table was placed between them.
The walls had a few paintings of a rough stick family, and highlighted as mom, dad, sister, and me.
'A kid must have painted it,' he thought.
He sat on the comfy couch, musing, 'My lie shouldn't become gossip.'
He recalled how villagers chit-chatted with interest and didn't care about his condition.
'But this Hearts… he seems a good guy,' he grinned lightly, but wiped it out before anyone could spot.
He noticed in front, twin girls of five years old, clad in bright pink tunics, glaring at him, hiding behind the wall.
'They are so adorable,' his heart thought, as his lips turned up.
"Come here," he waved his hand.
The girls shook their heads and waved their tongues at him before rushing out.
"Kids these days…" Bailiff Lion muttered as he entered the room.
"I called adventurers," he said, sitting down on the couch in front of Giliberu.
He scowled as his eyes turned crimson. "Can you tell me where these goblins kidnapped your granddaughter?"
He took a map and placed it on the table.
"Here…" Giliberu said, placing his finger randomly.
"Kidnapped?" a baby girl who entered the room playfully muttered.
She tilted her head and suddenly broke out crying, "Ahhh!"
Her twin, who was behind, noticed her crying, and she too teared up, not knowing why.
"What happened?" Giliberu asked softly.
Bailiff Lion sighed, but veins popped around his eyes.
"My mama was kidnapped by goblins," the girl on the right replied, rubbing her wet eyes.
"Here, my mama is so pretty," the left girl said, handing out a two-photo locket from her neck.
Giliberu clenched his fists. He opened the locket and glanced at the photos.
'It was her…' He felt a jolt as his hands trembled for a moment.
