Slime Evolution-Chapter 98 - Blue Venom

After digesting the brains of those seven beetles, Lohan received three more Evolutions.

[Viscous Flow Lv 23 → Lv 24] - 1.90 m/s → 2.09 m/s

[Structural Stability Lv 17 → Lv 18]

[Membrane Reinforcement Lv 22 → Lv 23]

Three good evolutions that saved him almost 200 biomass.

’Not bad.’ Lohan thought with satisfaction, but when he climbed back onto Lisa’s back, accidentally stepping on her wound, the fox’s body twitched in pain for a split second, but she didn’t complain.

Even though she didn’t say anything, Lohan still felt a little bad for her.

’Is there anything I can do to help with this?’ he wondered.

Considering his flexibility, an idea came to him.

Slowly expanding his own body, Lohan began to cover the fox’s body as if he were ’hugging’ her.

But upon feeling this, Lisa froze and spoke in an icy voice. "What the hell do you think you’re doing?!"

Lohan replied casually. "I’m trying to wrap around your body."

Lisa: ???

"Yes, I noticed that. Now I hope you have a good reason for this, otherwise I’ll make you taste my spiritual fire for the first time..." She said in an even colder voice.

Slowly, her body began to heat up, and small particles of spiritual energy leaked around her, burning the slime jelly little by little.

"Ouch, stop that, I’m trying to protect you!" Lohan explained as he hardened his own membrane and began to form a layer of Obsidian Exoskeleton so he wouldn’t feel pain. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

"Protect me?!" Lisa asked angrily, further raising the temperature of her fire.

She had heard idiots say things like that many times before as they tried to take advantage of her, thinking she was a foolish girl who wanted to be protected by someone.

"Yes!" Lohan said, starting to get angry at this irrational fox.

"Didn’t you get hurt while fighting? I’m trying to wrap you in symbiotic armor, just like Venom, damn it! Stop it, you’re hurting me!"

Lisa had no idea who Venom was that Lohan had mentioned, but when he said he was trying to wrap her in armor, she felt his body getting harder and more resistant and saw that it seemed to be true.

Suddenly she froze, realizing that maybe she had been a little irrational. But feeling his cold, gelatinous body envelop her small, warm body, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment, causing her anger to rise even more. "And couldn’t you have explained this to me before you acted?!"

Pausing for a second, Lohan looked at the fox more closely, and losing his evasive attitude and her slightly flushed fox cheeks, he finally understood the reason for her irrationality.

"Pfft, you think I was taking advantage of you to feel your body? What do you think I am? A furry?! Animal ears are fine, but who would like a 100% canine body like yours?!" He replied while trying to hold back his laughter.

But his willpower wasn’t enough, and he started to laugh out loud.

The problem was that when he laughed, his round, soft body vibrated, making the fox feel ticklish and even angrier.

Lisa was furious! With her face completely red, she couldn’t take this Slime’s audacity anymore and exploded.

A wave of white flames flowed through her body, attacking indiscriminately!

This was a move she only used when Halon wasn’t behind her so as not to risk hurting him, but at this point, that was what she wanted most.

Lohan sensed her anger and instead of being afraid, he felt that the situation was even funnier.

It is known that an angry man can be scary, pathetic, foolish, weird.

An angry woman can be freaked out, out of control, crazy, strange.

But an angry beautiful woman is totally different.

Even though Lohan had mocked Lisa’s body as unattractive, which was true, because of the closeness they had developed over the last few days, he really felt that this girl had a lot of charm, making it difficult for him not to imagine that she was beautiful in the real world.

So seeing her angry like this, he could only find her attitude even cuter.

With the courage of a reckless fool, Lohan laughed even harder and just increased the resistance of his exoskeleton and membrane to withstand her attack, while laughing nonstop.

Feeling that this foolish Slime wasn’t going to stop anytime soon, Lisa became even angrier and shot forward at high speed, wanting to knock him off her back.

Lisa shot like a white projectile through that floor of the tree, making sharp turns and jumping over twisted roots with erratic movements, trying to use centrifugal force to throw Lohan against the hardened wooden walls.

"Get off! Now! I’ll turn you into real jelly!" she shouted, though the mental voice sounded more like a high-pitched hiss of indignation than an actual threat.

Lohan, however, was in his element.

With [Selective Viscosity], he acted like a high-level organic suction cup.

Every time Lisa tried a sudden movement to destabilize him, he simply expanded a part of his biomass and created a jelly "shock absorber" that absorbed the impact, sticking to her fur with stubborn adherence.

"Hahaha! It’s no use, Lisa! I have [Non-Newtonian Resilience], remember?

The more you shake me, the firmer I get!" Lohan replied, his mental voice still trembling from laughter.

The situation was absurd.

There they were, in the middle of a level 10 dungeon, surrounded by deadly beetles, engaged in a cat-and-mouse fight... or rather, a fox-and-slime fight.

Lisa stopped abruptly, her claws digging deep grooves into the resin floor, and began rolling on the ground, trying to crush Lohan against the dry wall of the trunk.

The noise was very loud, causing an intense buzzing sound to emerge from the background, but in her moment of fury, Lisa didn’t notice it.

"S-stop! That... that tickles!" Lohan exclaimed between spasms of laughter, feeling the pressure of Lisa’s weight. "Okay, okay! I surrender! But admit it, the idea of ’Slime Armor’ is strategically brilliant!"

Lisa stopped rolling and stood up, panting, her fur all bristled and covered in dust and wood chips.

She looked back and saw that Lohan was still there, now reduced to a thinner, blacker layer due to the [Obsidian Exoskeleton], protecting her like the shell of the beetles they were hunting.

Her spiritual fire had diminished, leaving only a residual glow... Then she snorted, trying to regain the dignity of "Legendary Fox" and Queen of Ice.

"That’s a stupid idea..." She muttered, though she was no longer trying to burn him. "And if anyone sees you like this, I swear I’ll say you’re a parasite I haven’t been able to remove yet."

"Deal." Lohan agreed, finally stopping laughing and focusing on the crack ahead. "But now, quiet... I think I hear something."

The joke served to dispel the tension of the invasion, but the reddish glow of Lohan’s [Thermal Perception] picked up several heat spots moving in the shadows above them.

An even larger number than the previous group they had faced!

The fun was over... the blue "Venom" and the enraged Fox looked at the approaching group and were excited to face this battle, for different reasons.
