Sinner System-Chapter 476: Seed of Doubt
Point-of-View: Vaszel Vos Kealfaos
———————————————————————————
Ah, that went quite well, I believe. I didn’t exactly crush his spirits, but at the very least, I think I was able to plant a seed of doubt in his belief that the humans can win this.
I cannot wait to see the look of despair on his face when this long war ends in the humans’ inevitable defeat. I just wish the wait wasn’t so tediously long.
I must admit, this is quite boring, sitting her and waiting for such a prolonged period of time...that conversation helped briefly alleviate my boredom, but I have nothing else to do for the time being.
If only I could at least explore the rest of the Final Dungeon and kill some time by roaming around...but unfortunately, I am stuck here in the eighth floor, and I will not be able to leave until thirty-three days have passed.
The same applies to the seven remaining Sentinels, each of them are stuck in one of the lower floors, unable to travel between them.
It is not just that we lose half our power if we venture into a different floor, no, it is literally impossible to do so. There are no entrances connecting the floors, each floor is isolated from the rest.
Per the rules set by Dimension Breaker, the humans will have a way to ascend through the Final Dungeon if and when they attack it, but I and the rest of the Monsters have no such means.
Well, except for one...
"Hey, Lord Vaszel, I’m back."
Speak of the devil.
"Yes, welcome back, Spektar," I nodded, slumping back in my seat slightly.
"I do not mean to complain, my Lord, but...it is quite boring, being stuck in here. While I can travel through the floors, I cannot phase through the walls to leave the Dungeon," He sighed in response.
"Well, at least you aren’t stuck on a single floor like the rest of us are," I replied dryly.
"Perhaps we could play some games to pass the time? I can call some of the Archdemons and Greater Demons here."
"...I suppose we might as well, it is not as if I have anything better to do at the moment."

"There sure are a lot of you. But if you think your numbers are going to be enough to get past me, I’d suggest thinking again," I remarked, before chanting, "<Descent>. <Enrage>."
The Demons and Greater Demons before me shrunk back slightly as my power surged, purple energy and Negative Energy swirling around me intensely, steadily settling as my wings, tail and horns appeared, before I cracked my neck with a tilt of my head.
I killed the Monsters that entered the Boss Room, then I killed the ones making their way up the tunnel. And now, I’m in the penultimate floor of the Dungeon, dozens of Demons and Greater Demons before me.
I’ll keep them from venturing up to the Boss Room, they won’t get past me. I’ll eliminate every single one of them.
Hm, but this is a serious problem, it changes a lot.
In the past, even with deviations from the standard patterns, you can have a general idea of how many Monsters you’re going to face on each floor as you progress through the Dungeon.
And after you defeat the Monsters on any given floor, you know that you can rest easy until you reach the next floor.
But that isn’t the case anymore. If the Monsters are able to freely venture throughout the Dungeons with no restrictions, on top of the fact that retreating is impossible...a lot of Hunters are going to die.
I’ll worry about that later, I should bring it up to the HUC...after I finish wiping out these Monsters.
I unleashed a blast of Obliterate at a hundred percent, before rushing forward and firing out a barrage of piercing Negative Energy projectiles, skewering several of them.
"<Command: Kill Each Other>," I chanted as I locked onto a dozen Greater Demons, forcing them to attack the others around them.
I stepped across as a Greater Demon lunged at me and drove his claws towards me, before I activated Devour: Cloak and drove my hand through his side, eating through his flesh, before he seized up sharply and went limp as I reached his Core.
I flew up as Negative Energy blasts came shooting towards me from several directions, before spinning around as a Demon zipped up behind me.
I whipped my blade across, slicing off the top of his head before firing out a drilling beam of Negative Energy, shooting through his solar plexus and blasted his Core to pieces.
I unleashed a burst of Negative Energy around myself as several Demons surrounded me, blowing them away before swooping down and flying through several of them, the energy of Devour tearing off large chunks of their bodies, wiping out dozens of Cores.
I came to a halt and rapidly spun around as I fired out a beam of Obliterate at thirty percent, slicing several of the Monsters in half.
Alright, I’m making decent progress, but there’s definitely a lot more of them still left. Hm, right on cue, more of them are streaming in from the lower floors...this is going to take a while.
In that case, I’ll need to start attacking more aggressively. I still have a bit of time left with Devour: Cloak, I should make full use of it, I can switch to Ravage: Cloak after that.
I should be conservative with Obliterate, I need Enrage to last as long as possible. I’ll focus primarily on exterminating the Greater Demons first, that’ll make it easier once my power boosts run out.
I’ll summon the Apostles after that, they won’t be able to keep up with me at my current level, and might end up getting in the way, so I’ll wait till after my power boosts reach their time limits.
This will definitely take a while, but I should be able to wipe them all out without too much trouble. I hope Cleo is holding her own against the Dungeon Boss...
