How troublesome, I did not expect to face such a serious threat. I underestimated him, he is much, much more dangerous than I’d initially assumed...however, it will not last long.

He has not gotten more powerful, that isn’t what’s going on here. Yes, his movements are sharper, he is faster, and his attacks are stronger, but not because he has gained a boost in power.

He is simply pushing his body past his limits. His Magic uses an energy that generates force, it seems he is channeling that energy through his body, forcing his bones and muscles to move faster than they are capable of.

His appearance has changed slightly as well. There is a slight, pale glow around his body, his eyes are glowing, and his hair is standing up on end.

But he has several tears all over his skin, his eyes are bloodshot, with tears of blood streaming down. He was bleeding out of his nostrils and mouth as well...not to mention the injuries I’d inflicted.

He was preventing himself from bleeding out by clamping the energy of his Magic around the wounds, but fighting like this, he is only going to keep aggravating those injuries. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

With every movement, every attack, his body grows increasingly more damaged, he is straining himself beyond his capabilities. He is steadily wrecking his own body with increasing severity to maintain this level.

He is likely in a tremendous amount of pain, but that does not appear to be slowing him down. He...he is enjoying this, the adrenaline must be dulling and helping him ignore the pain.

But it is only a matter of time, he will not be able to fight once his body is completely wrecked and broken. I need only keep fighting until he reaches that point. And looking at him, it shouldn’t take too much longer.

So long as I avoid a fatal blow, I will keep regenerating, but that is not the case for him. I shall keep my distance, force him to exert himself and chase after me, and-...

My eyes widened as he suddenly rushed forward with immense speed, clouds of dust erupting out in his trail as he shot towards me rapidly.

"Don’t even think about it, no way in hell I’m letting you get away!" He exclaimed with a maniacal smile, as he closed in on me in an instant.

I rushed back onto my feet and scrambled across to my right, wincing in pain as he ripped off my left arm, blood spraying out before I spread out my wings and flew up into the air as fast as I could.

That was even faster than before, how-...?

My train of thought was interrupted as he blasted himself straight up behind me, before I spun around and swung my right arm across, aiming to slice his head open with my talons.

Right as my talons closed in on the side of his head, I felt an invisible, razor-sharp obstacle slicing into my wrist, severing my hand before it could reach him. He swiftly reached out, grabbing my arm and firing a piercing blast at the middle of my body.

He blasted a hole through my right side as I turned my body across right in the nick of time, before breaking free of his grasp as I unleashed a sharp burst of wind around myself.

I flew back as I regenerated, before several deafening blasts rang out as he launched himself through the air, zigzagging all over as I struggled to follow him, before he zipped up above me and blasted himself straight down towards me.

I just barely got my arms up in time as he unleashed a devastating blast of force, shattering the bones in my arms and splitting my skull open, my mind blanking for an instant.

And the next thing I knew, I had crashed onto the ground with a crushing impact, deep cracks spreading out across the dirt around me as I let out an agonized gasp. I seized up and convulsed slightly as excruciating waves of pain erupted across my back, my entire body severely rattled.

As blood poured out of my mouth, I hurried back onto my feet and leapt out of the way as he unleashed a rapid, powerful slashing wave down towards me, a deep, narrow cavity appearing across the ground as the attack sliced my left foot off, blood pouring out.

I flew across as he swooped down towards me, before he began firing a barrage of piercing beams towards me, shooting through my wings before I could ascend.

I sprang back onto my feet and leapt off to my right as a shredding blast came shooting towards me, tearing the ground apart as I narrowly evaded it.

As I got back up, I twisted my body across as rapid, piercing burst shot towards me, bursting through my right side. I locked my gaze onto him and unleashed a pressurized blast of wind towards him from my mouth.

He zipped across to his right to evade it, before blasting himself straight towards me. I drove my talons towards his throat as he closed in, with as much force as I could generate. He was quick to react, as he whipped his right arm and struck my forearm with a sharp burst of force upon impact.

The force of his strike snapped the bones like twigs and mangled my arm, before I triggered a concentrated gust of wind over my Core as he fired a piercing blast towards it.

A deep puncture appeared over that spot, millimeters short of my Core, before a crushing force struck the middle of my stomach as he drove his knee up, a devastating burst of force erupting upon impact and blasting me away.

Blood poured out of my mouth as I hurtled back through the air at an alarming speed, before grimacing and mustering up my strength to trigger a burst of wind behind myself, canceling out some of the momentum.

I hit the ground and skidded back, scrambling back onto my feet as I regenerated, before stiffening as he appeared before me, starting to lunge towards me as I braced myself. But suddenly, he stumbled forward and coughed out blood with an agonized wheeze, a shaky gasp echoing out.

The glow around him faded as his hair went limp, a dazed groan ringing out as he collapsed onto his knees, struggling to move.

This is my chance...!
