Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon-Chapter 805 - 802: Becoming a Hunter (4)- Bonus
Chapter 805: 802: Becoming a Hunter (4)- Bonus
Another stare-down occurred after Amy took the sword from Corey.
She stared at Corey without blinking even once.
She was tense. So tense to the point that her breathing was heavy, her palms were sweaty, and her thoughts were many.
Her mind was filled with countless thoughts of every move she had made against Corey, and how Corey had dealt with every single one of them like she was a kid swinging a toy.
Even though she was better with the sword than the spear, she had no confidence in being able to defeat Corey at all.
’Who is he? And where did he come from?’
With every second that passed, Corey’s image in her mind became bigger and bigger until it became as large as an unfathomable wall.
Unlike Amy who looked like she was about to have a panic attack, Corey was the opposite.
His breathing was still calm, slow, and indifferent.
And his expression, was one of indifference. But if one observed Corey, they would see a tinge of disappointment in Corey’s gaze as he looked at Amy.
Amy moved, but Corey didn’t pick up a weapon this time around.
He fought her barehanded.
And still, she couldn’t land a hit.
Not one.
Every attack she launched, he redirected with a flick, a tap, or a twist of his palm.
She slashed down.
He sidestepped and placed a palm on her shoulder, pushing her lightly off balance.
She tried to recover.
He tripped her foot.
She stumbled and landed on her knees.
She got up fast, and then tried again.
But...
The same result.
She missed.
He didn’t.
Every. Single. Time
At some point, Corey pinched the sword mid-swing with his fingers and pushed it to the side before flicking her forehead again.
Tok
"You shouldn’t grip your sword like it’s about to fly away. Relax your fingers a little. Feel the flow."
Amy didn’t say anything. She just stared at him.
The gap...
It was unfathomable.
Not in power.
Not in strength. freewēbnoveℓ.com
Not in speed or aura.
But in skill.
It felt like she was sparring with someone who had fought for decades, but Corey looked young... Younger than her.
Besides, it has not even been up to ten years since the apocalypse began. And if she wanted to fool herself by saying that Corey was most likely a soldier or something of sort before the apocalypse, even her mind and heart would not believe it.
’Just who the fuck is he?... Why is he more terrifying than Father? Even Father could not overpower me in such a manner.’
Amy felt like she was losing her mind, but if she knew that Corey wasn’t even trying... Not even slightly... Even Corey could not guess what her reaction would be like.
Sigh
A loud sigh that was filled with vivid disappointment drifted into her ears, disrupting her from her thoughts and stunned state.
Her eyes regained back their focus, and when she saw the tip of the sword in front of her nose, she shook.
When?
"I think that’s enough," Corey said calmly while lowering the sword in his hands.
Without waiting for her response, that is if she could, he walked to the corner, picked up her spear, and handed both the sword and spear back to her.
Amy took it silently. Still trying to understand what just happened.
"Why didn’t you use your talent by the way? Wouldn’t it have helped you?"
Corey curiously asked, and Amy blinked numerous times.
"I don’t have a talent."
Corey raised a brow, "You don’t? Didn’t you make a wish?"
An embarrassed expression appeared on Amy’s face the moment she heard Corey’s question, and with a mosquito like voice, she spoke.
"I wished to be beautiful and sexy."
"..."
Although her voice was extremely low, Corey could hear her as clear day, and he had the urge to smack his forehead in exasperation.
However, he knew that it was not worth it at all.
Despite the fact that he was in disbelief at the wish Amy made, Corey knew that her wish was perfectly normal.
He knew that the percentage of people on New Earth that made wishes that could actually help them to not only survive but thrive in the apocalypse was very rare.
There were a lot of factors for this, and Amy’s wish to be beautiful was perfectly normal... Especially for a woman that was conscious about her looks.
However...
’You’re beautiful but compared to people like Pamela, Rosa, Melissa, Calista, and several other women I encountered in the Underworld, you still have a very long way to go, woman.’
Although Corey had this thought as he observed her from head to toe, he didn’t bother saying it out loud.
Amy saw his eyes roaming across her body and face with a scrutinizing gaze, and when she saw the indifference that had always been in his gaze from the very beginning he entered the training hall, she felt deflated.
Even her looks which she felt could be ranked amongst the top in the entire Haven Continent was like nothing to him.
’Am I... worthless?’
"I can leave, right?"
Corey’s voice drifted into her ears once again, causing her to leave her thoughts behind and look at him.
She nodded, "You can... You passed."
"Obviously." Corey replied indifferently, causing Amy’s lips to twitch.
"Once you leave, you’ll receive your Hunter’s badge and rank by somebody higher ranking than me."
Corey indifferently nodded, and when he saw that Amy had nothing else to say, he walked towards the exit.
But just as he was about to reach the exit, he paused, then looked over his shoulder.
"Thanks for the... show."
"..." Amy.
Then he left.
Amy didn’t move.
She just stood there.
Spear in hand.
Knees slightly trembling.
Sweat dripping from her face.
And a single thought echoing in her head.
’There’s no way he’s a Tier 3.’
Meanwhile, Corey’s thoughts were completely different.
’Disappointing. Very disappointing... And she’s one of the strongest Tier 3 Hunter present in the building right now?’
