Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon-Chapter 617 : 616: Temptations of the Battleground
When Corey saw the battleground in front of him, he had to stop and observe his surroundings to make sure that he was not walking into a trap or into his doom.
He tried to see if there was another path he could take, but there was none. He had to cross the battleground to reach the Mountain of Giza.
His instincts did not warn him of danger, and he could also not sense the aura of any powerful being. Although, he could hear the movements and noises made by people in the depths of the battleground.
Corey entered the battleground with the skeleton which was now weighing ten thousand kilograms (10,000kg) and not calm and focused gaze while keeping his senses to the maximum.
As he walked he observed the battleground, and his heart could not help but skip multiple beats with every step he took.

The first thing that shook him was that the moment he stepped into the battleground, he was able to sense the aura of the corpses.
They were not mortals like he previously assumed, instead, they were beings that were equivalent to Tier 5s and Tier 6s.
The deeper he went, the less Tier 5s he saw and the more Tier 6s he saw. Not only that, Corey could see that some of the items, weapons, and armors of the corpses were fully intact.
The items, weapons, and armors were at least Blue grade equipment, and the highest he saw was at the Violet grade.
Corey had never seen a Violet grade treasure before, and the urge to just pick up the first Violet grade treasure he saw was so strong that Corey almost fell for it.
There was not just one Violet grade treasure, nor were there two, three, four, or five Violet grade treasures.
The deeper he went into the battleground, the more Violet grade treasures he saw. There were hundreds and maybe thousands of Violet grade treasures, and a whisper was constantly flowing into his ears.
Take them
Take the treasures
Take the treasures and gain more power
Take the treasures to gain the power to save your sister and avenge your parents
Don't you want power? It's right in front of you
Take it
Take them
Corey knew that these were his thoughts and at the same time, they were not his thoughts, but no matter what he did and how much he wished to block out these thoughts and whispers, he just could not.
Only the image of his sister and his parents which his Stars of Consciousness was constantly bringing to his mind reminded him of why he was here.
Why he chose to partake in the second Tribulation of Hell despite his low Tier.
With an extremely determined expression, Corey ignored the Violet grade treasures around him, and he kept on walking forward.
Later on, he saw the end of the battleground, but at that moment, he had no choice but to stop.
At the edge of the battleground was a sword, a shield, a bangle, an armor, a necklace, and a Lightning Infinity Crystal.
These six objects were hovering in the air, and apart from the Lightning Infinity Crystal which took most of Corey's attention, he knew that the remaining five objects were beyond Violet grade.
He could sense an unknown and powerful energy emanating from the five objects, and he was certain that these five objects were meant for Tier 7s and above, or for Immortals.
Corey's partially ignored the five objects, and his gaze remained on the Lightning Infinity Crystal for a long time.
He was able to ignore thousands of Violet grade treasures before him, but what of an Infinity Crystal which he needed?
What of an Infinity Crystal which was the same as the Infinity Crystal he lost to Pamela?
What if it was real?
What if he's not able to find another Infinity Crystal or a fraction of an Infinity Crystal so easily if he's able to leave the Underworld?
Would he not regret it for life?
And what of the remaining objects?
If he could take them, if he could make them his, wouldn't his battle prowess drastically increase?
So many questions, thoughts, and whispers flowed into Corey's ears, and it took him ten minutes to finally come to a decision.
He approached the six objects that were hovering above the ground while beckoning for him to take them, to make them his.
He stopped in front of the six objects, and his gaze shifted to the ground. He could see six corpses beneath the objects, and these corpses emitted an unfathomable aura that was somewhat comparable to that of the Throne of the Shattered Dimension.
Normally, the aura should have affected him but it didn't affect him in the slightest for some reason he could not understand.
He shifted his gaze from the corpses to the six objects, and then he took a step forward and walked past the Lightning Infinity Crystal and the Immortal grade objects.
He walked out of the battleground, and he could still feel the aura of the Immortal grade objects and the Lightning Infinity Crystal beckoning to him. However, Corey ignored them and kept on walking without looking back.
The further he walked, the more the thoughts, whispers, and temptations of the Immortal-grade objects and the Lightning Infinity Crystal faded, until his thoughts were no longer influenced by the allure of the battleground.
Ignoring the temptation of the battleground, especially the Immortal grade objects and the Lightning Infinity Crystal was not an easy thing for Corey at all.
However, there was one particular reason why he was able to ignore the Immortal grade objects and the Lightning Infinity Crystal, and that was surprisingly because of the Lightning Infinity Crystal.
Everything about the Lightning Infinity Crystal was normal. It's aura, energy, and presence, everything was perfectly normal. But there was one thing that was missing, and that was the connection he was meant to feel from the Poison Infinity Crystal and the Earth Infinity Crystal towards the Lightning Infinity Crystal.
Whenever he was in the presence of an Infinity Crystal, his Infinity Crystals always gave a reaction, but he felt no reaction from his Infinity Crystals when he stood in front of the Lightning Infinity Crystal.
He was not sure if his Infinity Crystals were always meant to react to the presence of another Infinity Crystal, but he was in a Tribulation of Hell, and his goal was to reach the Mountain of Giza as fast as possible before he died under the weight of the skeleton on his back.
Taking such a risk was not wise, and because of this, Corey decided to ignore the Immortal grade objects and the Lightning Infinity Crystal, no matter how much he wished to have all of them.
