SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS-Chapter 1038 - 1035: TALKING ABOUT BABIES 2
"Can we really do it like that?"
"Um, we can. That money will be used for many things. Anyway, when the babies are born, you will be expected to contribute. Raising children is costly."
"Hehe, I know. Don’t worry. I will work hard, earn a lot and make sure that none of you are wronged," he promised earnestly, already foreseeing the beautiful future.
The two chatted on great lengths about the baby fund and whatnot before the topic changed into something that Diamond loved a lot.
"Have you thought of names to name our children?" Gael was curious about that and asked that.
When it comes to these matters, he felt that he should leave them to Diamond and not interfere.
When she heard that, her eyes lit up as she recalled how when she first got Garnet, she also found the name of her first daughter. Yes, she only thought of one name and didn’t bother with the rest but still found a general idea of how she would name her future children.
"I thought of one - our first daughter, but if we have a son, I might have to think about other names as well," she responded truthfully, not evading the question. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
When he heard that, he had an inkling that Diamond might be more in favor of girls. That was understandable, he couldn’t blame her. After all, she is a girl herself and it was normal to be biased. At the same time, it also made him feel that she wasn’t that bad. After all, most women tend to lean towards the male children and have this patriarchal mind that is a bit toxic.
Were they forgetting that they are also women? Why go around treating their daughters as if they are curses?
Anyway, he didn’t utter that loud as he was more curious about the name that Diamond came up with.
"What is the name of our eldest daughter?" he asked as he continued to caresses her hand.
Her eyes beamed as she looked at him with eager eyes and responded, "Amaryllis."
"Amaryllis," he whispered the name and felt it rolling on his tongue smoothly and sounding pretty luxurious, "it sounds nice. What does it mean?"
"Amaryllis is a captivating flowering plant known for its large, striking, trumpet-shaped blooms. It’s quite a beautiful flower to be honest, but that’s not the reason why I picked the name.
It’s the meaning behind the name I found pretty special and felt like it was well deserving for my eldest daughter."
Hearing up to that, Gael was more invested and eager to understand the reason very much.
And he had an inkling that he was going to love it very much, moreover, he was tempted to have a daughter as his first child. To have such a child receive such an honor, as a father he will be surely proud.
Getting such an honor would surely make his mother proud, right?
"What does it resemble? Why did you pick it?" he asked curiously, already intrigued and eager to know more.
She flashed a grin at him as she continued, feeling quite proud inside.
"The name is said to be associated worth some folklore and symbolized the idea that beauty can bloom from pain and it is often serves as a metaphor for inner strength and resilience. However, forget that folklore, for what I like is the symbolization. Strength, beauty, pride and love.
This flower well known for its resilience and determination due to its ability to bloom in the winter months. I want my eldest daughter to be exactly like that.
Born from a mother like me and with what I love representing, it is not going to be easy to be honest. I hope that the name will give her enough strength, determination and resilience of what it takes to be part of the Perry family."
Diamond understood herself pretty well. She was forged through obstacles, humiliation and many other things to be this thick skinned and be at the stage where she is. Without that thick skin, she would probably be some lowkey bigshot and living her life, but that wasn’t the case.
She had always dreamt of having children, especially after gaining her confidence back. Since that was the case, her children would never live in the shadows. She wanted her children to grow up strong, without hiding and caring much about what other people think.
People will always talk and they never stop, so why be bothered with them?
She was going to be the eldest daughter, and in a world where society will always talk ill about her mother’s relationships that doesn’t conform to societal norms. If she doesn’t get strong from birth, then wouldn’t she crumble down?
As for the sons, she didn’t need to worry much about that. They should be strong even without her doing anything, right?
"You must have a lot of expectations for her?" Gael couldn’t help but say after digesting everything with a smile on his face.
"Um, my eldest daughter is my appointed heir," she responded with earnestness, her answer shocking Gael as he wasn’t expecting such a response to be honest.
It was also another reason why Diamond took it very seriously when picking her eldest daughter’s name. Even if she has a son first, her daughter shall take the reins in the future. Of course, that will only happen after she is tired. All her children should know how to work for themselves, achieve something in their lives first before even eyeing her things.
How could life be so easy?
Anyway, regarding making the eldest daughter the heir, her family especially starting with her was matriarchal. She couldn’t stomach having a man having power over her. She refuses such a thing happening.
She is the head of her family and that was it. Since that was the case, her daughters shall soar. She just wanted to provide a better cushion for her daughters and give them the ability not to be bullied when they enter society.
