SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS-Chapter 1023 - 1020: THE LAST RELIC
Diamond glanced around and noticed the people watching the drama. She laughed inwardly, amazed by how people anywhere still loved watching drama.
Seeing everything in place, she started walking towards the museum, and seeing her making her move, those who should follow started following.
After walking for a bit, Diamond and the twenty guards entered the museum.
Diamond took a glance at the officials for a second before walking towards the left without saying a word.
Bradley and Mitchel followed behind. However, instead of following Diamond, they began to talk to the officials, diffusing the awkward atmosphere.
"We are very sorry for making things difficult for you this time!" Bradley couldn’t help but apologize once again, accepting the fact that this time they had done something wrong.
When the officials heard that, even if they had grievances, could they even voice them out?
"No, this is not an issue. Your family is a great supporter and sponsor of our museum. And since this is something that we can help with, we are glad to be of help!" the man said flatteringly, though inside he was dying.
Just what did this family want from the museum for them to go to such great lengths to achieve it?
And why weren’t they allowed to follow and watch?
Hmph! Just because they didn’t want him to see, didn’t mean that he would follow. The museum has surveillance. When this whole fiasco was done, he was going to comb through everything and find the secret.
And when he does? Hmph, just see if these people will continue to flaunt their power.

"Ah~~~~~~~~~~"
"ShriekkkkkK~~~~"
"Hehehe!"
"W-who are you?"
"No~~~~~~~~~"
Meanwhile, inside the museum, in some part of it, the twenty men were drenched in cold sweat as ominous screams, cries and haunting voices kept on sounding from the basement where Diamond had gone fifteen minutes ago.
Standing guard at the door, guarding against the people they weren’t certain would come since they hadn’t seen a single soul when they came to this old and hidden part of the museum. They felt as if in this life, this time especially since they have seen what they shouldn’t.
If it was scary just listening out there without doing much, then what was going on inside?
Diamond entered the basement on her own with just a single fan. Was she going to fare well in there?
They all couldn’t help but worry the more they thought about it. But none of them dared to go down and check on her.
Before leaving, she sternly gave instructions. No matter what you hear or how compelled they become and have a sudden urge to go down there, they weren’t allowed.
If anything happened to them, then that was it.
The scream continued, and sometimes the loud thuds could be heard. Whatever was happening there was truly serious, and it made them wonder.
After thirty more minutes or so, all the noise suddenly died down, making the twenty men sigh with relief, glad that the battle must be over.
Now they could only wait patiently for Diamond to come out. That was if she was the one who won.
Ta, ta, ta.
After minutes of waiting, footsteps sounded, and the men looked warily towards the door with their hands clutching the gun holsters.
If anything, that came out there wasn’t Diamond, they were told to shoot and get rid of whatever it was.
Badum. Badum. Badum.
The loud thumping sounds of their hearts sounded in their ears as they waited anxiously.
Ta, ta, ta.
And the person seemed to be getting closer and closer.
Taking several steps back, the man guard gawked at the door as they waited for the person to come out.
After a while, a familiar person appeared, and a collective sigh of relief filled the long corridors.
Diamond smiled mysteriously upon seeing the guards’ relief and reactions.
’How cute!’ she amusedly complimented as she held the large and thick black book that had caused her too much trouble to get.
Baam.
And as soon as she stepped out of the door, the door unconsciously closed, reverting the wall to its original state, as if there was never a secret passage there in the first place.
"We got what we wanted. Now let’s leave!" she instructed the men as she made the book vanish in their eyes, astounding them in the process.
Without uttering a word, and still in shock, the men obediently followed Diamond, who looked a bit disheveled from probably the fighting that she had been engaged in previously.
As for Diamond, she was cursing inwardly repeatedly as she felt her body aching so badly that she just wanted to take a good rest and recuperate from the wounds she incurred in the fight.
As long as she gets the damn book to Zara, she can get that well-needed rest. This time, her job was done. Whatever was going to be done next was no longer her business.
Her part was done.
----****----
Meanwhile, in the lobby, the Hansleys were waiting anxiously for Diamond to come out.
A while ago, they just received a call from Cade who told them that the sun was setting and at this rate, the day might fly away and that was dangerous.
If the book has been found, finding a way to send it over was of greater importance.
So now they were hoping for Diamond to retrieve the book and find a way to solve the impending doom as fast as she could.
After waiting for nearly an hour, Diamond emerged from the left corridor, looking a bit more disheveled than she looked like when she walked into that corridor an hour ago.
Following her were the twenty bodyguards whose expressions didn’t seem right.
What could have happened in there?
They wondered and at the same time, searched for the book, hoping to see it in anyone’s hands, but alas, there was no sign of it.
Could it be that they failed?
They couldn’t help but panic when they thought of that.
Diamond was feeling too tired to explain anything to anyone. So as soon as she spotted the Hansleys, she nodded her head as she motioned for them to leave.
Seeing that sign, Bradley once again thanked the officials before following Diamond, who seemed to be in a hurry.
The people eating melons outside saw the Hansleys plus the mysterious brown-skinned lady with silver hair coming out and those guards with not-so-good expressions on their faces. Their curiosity was once again piqued.
"Did they fail to find what they were looking for?"
"Don’t let them hear you saying that. Aren’t you afraid of the consequences?"
"Hehe, am I the one who made them fail to find whatever they wanted?"
The Hansleys hearing that couldn’t help but be grim. They were also worried that the people’s speculations might be correct.
Could it be that there was no hope for Zara at all this time?
Under everyone’s watchful eyes, the entourage left, and those who were keeping an eye on the events reported to their respectful masters.
On this day, all spies reported the same thing: "They failed to find whatever they were looking for!"
And those who received the reports gloated at the Hansley’s misfortune and at the same time became quite curious at what they were looking for in the first place.
And they weren’t the only people curious. As the museum’s general manager was dying of curiosity as well.
The second the Hansleys left, the general manager ordered for the museum to be opened as if nothing happened.
With the business resumed, he returned to his office calmly, as if nothing was amiss.
However, as soon as he was in his office, he hurriedly dashed to his desk, where he opened the bottom drawer where a lock was. The man inputted the code and moments later, the bookshelf moved, revealing a secret room in the office.
The manager went into the secret room, and a row of monitors filled the room.
Snickering as he moved to the screens, the manager sinisterly spoke, "Hehe, you think that I am easy to bully? Nothing can happen in this museum and I am not aware of it!" his tone was boastful.
The museum had always had a contingency plan in case of emergencies.
There was the main security room which oversees the surveillance of the whole place. However, there were times when the people manning this place were so lax and things tended to go wrong.
So, dealing with cases like these, a secret security room only known to the general manager who will be heading the museum was created.
Whatever happens in the museum, as long as he wanted to know, he would find it.
When he was told to cut off surveillance, he indeed did so, but did that mean that the other cameras were off as well?
Thinking about the secrets he was going to see, the manager felt that his moment of becoming rich had finally entered his hands.
With the information regarding the secret, he just needed to find someone willing to buy it and then his life will be set for life.
However, as he clicked on the mouse to rewind the tapes, something shocking happened that made him fall to the floor, his back drenched in cold sweat as his body trembled with fear.
On the monitor screens, rather than seeing what he wanted to see or at least the museum itself, videos and photos he treasured so much and had taken great effort to hide were playing on the screen.
He wasn’t a fool to not understand what was happening.
This was a warning. They knew that he had backup and now they were using this to shut him up.
"What did I do?" the manager couldn’t help but shed tears of regret.
With them, knowing what he intended, would they continue to trust him again?
Just thinking about the mess, the manager wished it was possible to rewind time and not be greedy.
Unfortunately, there was no medicine for regret.
He could only face the consequences.
At the same time, the manager didn’t know that he was putting this genius crime on the wrong person.
The culprit in charge of this brilliant move was currently inside the car, holding the thick and large black book with a sinister smile on her face.
{All the records are deleted. They won’t find anything!}
Diamond smiled, a glint of amusement flashing in her eyes upon hearing that.
"Um. Let it stay that way. And help me control the media. I can’t let anyone see me like this for now!" she ordered as she shifted her focus to the book.
{I will do, so Mother!}
And with her son taking care of everything, Diamond continued to study the book that cost her too much.
If she doesn’t get a thing or two before giving it to Zara, then her name wouldn’t be Diamond.
