Chapter 1013: Chapter 1010: WHAT IS SHE?

Those without a spiritual eye didn’t even see what Diamond was doing. However, when the dagger was thrust forward, a shattering sound was heard alongside menacing howls and growls that raised goosebumps on everyone’s skin.

Diamond, however, simply smiled menacingly as she looked at the screeching dark energies flying towards her and the other nine people.

Thankfully, those people shouldn’t be able to see them. Seeing them, she couldn’t help but feel infuriated.

It was her first time coming across such things in real life and yet she didn’t feel intimated at all. In fact, she anticipated meeting such vile things one day. This way, all the hard work she put into training would come in handy.

With the golden shield protecting her from any sort of harm, she didn’t need to worry about these dark energies. However, there were other people with her. And if these menacing evil spirits escaped and attacked the sacred land, she would become a sinner.

So, to deal with this problem, Diamond summoned her weapon, the one weapon she had been anticipating using ever since she got it over a year ago, her colorful and vibrant folding fan.

It has black bones and red skin fanning with golden lotuses. It was simply pretty, and she barely took it out. It was very violent.

Because she summoned the fan out of nowhere, this particular action was witnessed by nine pairs of eyes, stunning them in place.

In fact, they were too shocked that some of them broke into cold sweat upon seeing that.

Since when did people start conjuring things out of nowhere?

Just what was she?

Unfortunately, some questions couldn’t be asked out loud. Who would dare be that bold to ask such questions?

Diamond, after coming all this way and with everything that she had shown these people, felt that it was no longer necessary to hide her abilities. She didn’t feel pressured at all.

So, when the fan was in her hands, she calculatedly waved it towards the fleeing energies, obliterating them at once.

The high priestess’s mouth was wide open as she witnessed this bizarre scene. Since when did artefacts like that appear in the world again?

To think that these energies could be obliterated like that. She felt useless for the first time.

Diamond felt thrilled seeing these dark energies falling one by one and with a wave of her hand, the next wave alongside a golden light seemed to envelop everywhere where the dark shield was.

With the opening cleared, Diamond started walking forward. However, the road was blocked with trees, so clearing the path was needed.

With her in the front, Diamond waved her fan and the trees would be uprooted, obliterated and poof, disappear as if they were never there.

The nine people following her didn’t utter a single word and merely followed obediently without causing a fuss.

For the first time since they met Diamond, they all realized how much they had underestimated her.

Fortunately, they were all on the same side. If she was on the other side, just imagining the consequences, they shuddered with her.

The journey toward the unknown was pretty long and Diamond faithfully led the way, obliterating anything that blocked their paths.

After faithfully walking towards the destination, a glimmer of hope appeared.

A staircase greeted them. And judging by how high it went, it would take an hour or so to climb all the way up.

Zara, seeing this staircase, couldn’t help but feel a surge of feelings which rejuvenated her energy.

’It reminds me of the temple!’

The goddess’s temple used to have a staircase like this, and it drove everyone crazy. After all, it took a person’s age to climb there and by the time people got on top, they would be tired.

On the other hand, after seeing the staircase, Diamond glanced at the others before she stopped at Zara, who looked melancholic and winked at her.

Zara was so taken by the sudden wink that she blushed as she looked away.

Diamond, feeling better after teasing Zara, started climbing the stairs as she continued to eradicate any evil spirits she came across on the way.

The staircase climbing lasted for an hour and by the time she stood at the end, her brows were raised, amusement flashing in her eyes.

’Beautiful!’

On the other hand, the other nine took a while to reach the top and when they did, they all showed different expressions.

However, the one Diamond wanted to see was Zara, and she wasn’t disappointed.

----****----

Zara looked at the temple before her and felt her eyes stinging as tears threatened to fall off.

In front of her was a large temple, much bigger than the one she used to serve, and yet everything about it made her feel familiar with it.

She was reminded about how in her first life, when she was still Phoebe felt pulled to the temple on that day; she was picked by the goddess to serve.

That same sensation was coming to her again.

Inside that temple, something was calling her and since she was here for one thing, then it meant that it was in there.

As she was lost in reverie, Diamond’s voice suddenly sounded, "Zara, dear, go inside and take what is yours. The clock is ticking and we don’t dare linger here for long!" jolting her back to reality.

Zara turned to look at Diamond, who was looking at her with a knowing smile and felt as if she had been seen through. However, it didn’t matter. Just like how Diamond was special, she was special as well. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

Zara nodded at Diamond and took in a deep breath as she looked towards the temple that was calling her.

The other eight saw what happened, but none of them said a word.

Amir, on the other hand, took Zara’s hand, his action very comforting. It made Zara feel at ease.

The couple smiled at each other, a green halo descending on them, only visible to Diamond and the high priestess, the two smiling mysteriously.

’What an intriguing and holy place!’

With her mind firm and determined, Zara took the first step towards the temple, ready to face whatever was waiting for her inside.

Badum. Badum. Badum.

Her heart pounded like a drum as she stepped into the temple.

The temple looked very old, probably over a thousand years old. She wasn’t certain, but with a glance something about it made her think about the old temple where she literally grew up and later died under the dagger of the man that she gave her heart to.

The moss had grown all over the temple. As much as it looked beautiful from a modern perspective, whenever seeing something ancient, Zara could feel despair and a vibe that shouldn’t exist in such a place.

Suppose the armlet was in this place? As an item once worn by a goddess, this place should be blooming with life and not death like this.

With a glance as much as this place held similarities to the old temple, it still wasn’t one. The temple she knew was large, with several courtyards in place. Of course, it was torched beyond recognition back then, and no one rebuilt the temple again.

And that alone showed that this place was another temple and not that one. But who would build a temple like this back then?

She didn’t even see that in her dreams. What happened in these years?

Unfortunately, these questions didn’t have any answers, as all she was mainly focused on right now was finding the armlet. It was somewhere in the temple, and she could feel it calling her, though the feeling was weak.

The energy in the armlet should be depleting. Whatever is in there has been holding on for a long time and if she dilly dally, she might not be able to find it.

Glancing around the temple, Zara came to a halt when she suddenly found herself facing very tall statues in various positions.

’This is ...’

The moment she saw them, a wave of authority and holiness overwhelmed her, making her knees weaken as if ready to kneel and worship.

There were three statues, all of them of female deities. Deities that she knew pretty well, despite being the first time she saw them in real life.

Curious and wondering how these deities managed to find their way to Rozinya, a familiar female voice sounded behind her.

"It seems we are in the presence of the female deities of the light faction!" Diamond announced, her tone filled with amusement.

When Zara heard that, she was taken aback as she didn’t expect Diamond to even know about this. In this era, in fact, it’s been millennials since people stopped worshiping some of these deities.

Especially the side branches. People now know about the light god and goddess. Or the dark god and goddess.

There hasn’t been any mention of the lesser deities. So, it was quite surprising to see that Diamond even knew that.

She couldn’t help but look at the other with an admirable gaze, convinced that Diamond was indeed overpowered.

"Sis, you know them too?" she couldn’t help but ask, her eyes sparkling with interest.
