Showbiz Scandal: The Official Announcement of My Ex and Myself-Chapter 392: School Uniform
She pretended not to hear, but Xie Qingci was relentless and even brought up a movie she had acted in before.
"You acted in a youth film when you just started out, didn’t it have this kind of plot? A good actor should be able to challenge any genre."
He was starting to use her profession to make his point.
Yu Xia pondered for a moment and said wistfully, "Don’t regret it."
"I’m looking forward to it," Xie Qingci laughed.
Maybe it was like a carrot dangling in front of a donkey; as Xie Qingci put the dishes into the dishwasher, he was in a great mood, full of energy finishing all the housework. He sat down on the edge of the sofa and asked her:
"Can we start now?"
Yu Xia kicked him: "Do you think this is a click-on-demand show? My shoulders are sore, help me massage them."
She turned over and lay on the sofa arm, moving her long hair to one side, revealing her smooth shoulder and neck.
Thanks to this dress, as she leaned down, her figure looked exceptionally curvaceous.
Xie Qingci swallowed and placed his hands on her.
"Is this okay?"
She lazily hummed an assent, feeling her shoulders relax a bit, and then directed him to massage her waist.
His hands moved from her shoulders to her waist. Both hands circled, just barely able to enclose it.
No matter how many times he’d seen it, he couldn’t help but marvel: "Your waist is too slender."
Yu Xia rested her head on her arm and, in a voice full of enjoyment, said, "Not bad, it’s not just me. Female celebrities have to be like this to look good on camera. If they’re thicker, they’ll be mocked on the red carpet."
Their body control is very strict; if they gain any weight, it will be obvious on camera, mocked by rivals and passersby, with some even claiming that a celebrity unable to control their figure is disrespectful to their profession.
The industry environment is demanding, there’s no choice. Some female stars even go as far as surgery to remove ribs forcibly slimming down due to a naturally broad frame.
Thinking of this, she turned to Xie Qingci and said, "Maintain a good figure, and fans might love you for another ten years."
Xie Qingci circled her lower back and glanced at her: "Isn’t it you who likes a good figure?"
"Who doesn’t? Don’t slack off, keep going."
He nodded absentmindedly, pressed her waist a couple of times, then suddenly his hand stopped.
Then a hand slid up along her back, palm on her shoulder, mischievously playing with the strap.
At the same time, he leaned down, whispered behind her ear, "Hey, you’re overestimating my self-control. How about I bring the surprise forward now?"
Yu Xia slightly lifted her upper body, squinting her eyes.
"Sure, I’m okay with it, go ahead."
Although she was very eager and really wanted to see it, she wanted him to say it first. Otherwise, if she rushed him repeatedly, she’d seem too eager.
When Xie Qingci picked up the backpack he’d thrown on the hallway cabinet and entered the room, she thought about it, before lightly tiptoeing into the bedroom.
Thinking about it, she was a little excited; while he was changing, she leaned against that desk, contemplating the upcoming scene.
What would Xie Qingci wear? What counts as a surprise? For her, it would be something she hadn’t seen, something very different from his usual style.
Like, cough, women’s clothing?
That would be quite the thrill.
She watched the bathroom door intently, excited and expectant.
Finally, the door opened.
Xie Qingci walked out wearing a blue and white school uniform, with a white T-shirt underneath the jacket, and the slightly short uniform pants revealing a bit of his ankles above the sneakers.
There was an indescribable feeling about Xie Qingci like this.
To put it simply, it was probably an aloof elegance, the kind of type high school girls would all like.
He didn’t smile. When his aimless gaze landed on her, it took on a hint of gentleness.
Yu Xia’s heart suddenly skipped a beat.
It was like a dream back to their first meeting; she had discovered the aloof young man amidst the crowd across in the sunset glow.
The hurried passing-by pedestrians blurred into indistinct silhouettes, with only him clear under the fiery clouds.
Even though so many people and cars were between them, she just felt as though the world was left with only the two of them.
It was like this for her, so it would have to be the same for him; love at first sight doesn’t come as good as mutual affection.
After a moment’s gaze, she said softly, "I don’t think I’ve ever seen you in a school uniform."
Back then, she only went to see him on weekends, and their school didn’t seem to have a compulsory uniform rule, so whenever she saw him, he was always in hoodies and T-shirts with a strong personal style.
Xie Qingci approached step by step, "Hmm, so I’m wearing it for you to see now."
When he got close, there was less than a palm’s distance between them.
Yu Xia glanced at the full-length mirror in the room.
The bright red slit high-end gown and the blue and white school uniform were a total mismatch, yet she felt there was harmony in every part.
It was as if such a pretty dress should entwine with that school uniform.
She reached out to wrap her arms around his neck, and Xie Qingci lifted her onto the desk to sit, their noses almost touching, breaths intertwining.
She asked: "If back then I had stopped you dressed like this, would you still have liked me?"
"Yes."
"What if I were your classmate?"
"I would. Yu Xia is Yu Xia; I’ll always fall for Yu Xia."
Yu Xia felt a tender ache in her heart, opened her mouth to say something, but that inexpressible feeling stuck in her throat, stopping her from speaking.
Xie Qingci gently kissed her.
Both his arms were wrapped around her waist, and Yu Xia lifted her hand to climb onto his shoulder, laying along his neck against his heart.
The open school jacket slipped down, hanging in the crook of his arm, and he didn’t bother with it.
It felt like they were back in that rented room beside the school, with Xie Qingci returning from playing basketball after class and Yu Xia coming to see him after finishing her engagements.
That room had a desk too, piled high with supplementary books, and Yu Xia would occasionally nap on the desk out of exhaustion. If Xie Qingci came back early, he’d gently move her to the bed to rest.
Two years later, the aloof young boy had become a strong man, but many things never changed.
The two of them separated, panting. Xie Qingci rubbed the wetness off her mouth corner with his thumb, asking her: "And you? Do you like the old me more, or the current me?"
"I like both, I want them both."
He chuckled softly: "And what do you want me to do? As agreed, today I’ll do whatever you say."
She tilted her head against his heart, hand resting in his arm’s crook, listening to his heartbeat for a while before saying: "Today, you have to keep wearing this, no matter what, you can’t take it off."
Xie Qingci: "Ah, that’s a bit difficult, I intended to toss it aside once we’re done."
"I said no, so no."
"Alright—" He leaned down to bite her earlobe, "Whatever you say, my dear. Anything else?"
Yu Xia: "Nothing else, just this one request. Make sure you remember, at any time, don’t mess it up, however it is now, it must remain that way afterwards."
Xie Qingci paused, understanding her meaning.
"You’re really here to torment me."
How could he possibly manage that?
Yu Xia, like a boneless snake, clung to him tightly, deliberately altering her voice, winding him with teasing charm:
"Is it good? I love you the most, Qingci brother."
Xie Qingci felt his scalp tingle.
