Showbiz Scandal: The Official Announcement of My Ex and Myself-Chapter 102: Then Can I Kiss You Again?
The two faced each other in silence for a moment, then let go of their hands.
Yu Xia puffed her cheeks and pinched her face, trying to control herself from laughing out loud.
"No, no worries, Shu Ran sis, let’s give it a try. Maybe your move is pretty normal after all."
Shu Ran didn’t refuse: "Then you make the first move."
"Alright!"
She decided to use a high-level move.
"Hey! Take this move, Advanced Mathematics!"
Shu Ran faced it expressionlessly: "Key that hides the powers of darkness, reveal your true strength before me. Now, in the name of your master, Gang Dan, I command you—release the seal! Muscle Princess Halation!"
Yu Xia: "...Sorry for the offense, I’m leaving now."
As she turned to leave, Shu Ran grabbed her from behind.
"You said you had a high tolerance for embarrassing things!"
"But I didn’t know it would be this embarrassing! This isn’t even a physical attack; it’s a psychological one! It’s too strong, I can’t take it!"
Shu Ran didn’t let her go.
"Since you’ve already experienced this level of embarrassment, why not see it through to the end and do the rest of the challenges with me!"
Yu Xia pried at her hand: "No, no, I can’t compete with that level of damage. Go and find Song Xi, maybe you two have the same ancestors, and you might find some common topics!"
Speaking of Song Xi, here he comes.
A group of people turned around from behind two iron trees, with Song Xi walking at the front.
Yu Xia’s eyes lit up, and she called out loudly, "Song Xi! Come over here!"
Song Xi looked up and instinctively smiled, "What’s up?"
Beside him, Xie Qingci’s gaze was as cold as ice.
Yu Xia, dragged along by Shu Ran, was so focused on the upcoming battle that she didn’t notice his cold stare at all.
"Come quickly, you and Shu Ran sis have very similar secret moves! You must have a battle!"
Song Xi smiled and agreed, speeding up his steps toward them.
Xie Qingci slowed his pace, falling to the back of the group, his dark eyes fixed straight on Yu Xia.
Yu Xia gave way to Song Xi, watching him and Shu Ran with a gleeful smile, her eyes inadvertently searching for Xie Qingci.
But then she saw him with a cold face, tilting his head slightly.
Ten minutes later.
The group spread out, and Yu Xia found a gap to head to the restroom.
The restroom had a unisex washbasin in the middle with the ladies’ on the left, clean and sanitary. Since they were filming a show, no one was there at the moment.
She hadn’t been inside for half a minute when someone came striding in without stopping and pulled her into a stall, locking it with a click.
Yu Xia almost lost her balance and nearly fell onto the toilet seat.
The stall was small, now with two people standing, forcing her to be pressed against Xie Qingci’s chest.
"What are you doing?" She pushed his chest and asked.
Xie Qingci looked down at her, raised his hand to touch her cheek, his thumb gently rubbing her skin.
"Wouldn’t kissing be easily spotted by the cameras?"
Yu Xia’s expression wasn’t good: "What kind of madness is this? You brought me in here just to... to kiss? Are you crazy!"
Xie Qingci let her scold him, his thumb lingering at the corner of her lips, suddenly sinking between her lips’ flesh.
Yu Xia paused.
"Just one kiss, okay?" He asked, but his hand had already tilted her chin up, her tongue slightly exposed, "After kissing, I’ll tell you what kind of madness it is."
"And keep your voice down, what if someone comes in outside."
With that, he pressed her nape, forcing her to be closer for an easier kiss.
Their lips barely touched, and he tried hard not to smudge her lipstick.
Yu Xia had no choice but to tilt her head in compliance, startled by his mention of "someone outside," tensing up and focusing wholly on listening for any sounds outside.
He kept his word, not kissing for long, pulling away from her lips, gasping slightly, then hugged her tightly again.
"You’ve smiled at Song Xi a lot today," he whispered in her ear, "and you happily called his name. I can’t take it."
Yu Xia was so tickled by his breathy whispers that she got goosebumps, unable to stand it, she pushed him away but couldn’t.
She could only glare at him, then hiss through gritted teeth, "Just because of that? He’s a trainee, we’re on the same show, how can I ignore him?"
Angrily patting his chest again, she paused and shared a plan she had thought of earlier.
"Besides, I thought maybe if I acted closer to him on camera, I could protect..."
Xie Qingci directly blocked her mouth.
Only after kissing her senseless did he grit his teeth and say, "What kind of nonsensical plan is that? I think you’re trying to be a menace!"
Yu Xia awkwardly replied, "What are you saying... isn’t this plan good?" 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"No, it’s not!"
"Alright, alright," she placed her palms on his chest, lowered her head in thought for a moment, "but I still need to find a chance to talk to him. I don’t like waiting for others to come to me."
Xie Qingci rested his chin on her head, unable to resist kissing her forehead again.
"I’ll go with you. I didn’t tell you that thing to make you focus more on him, sis. Just pay more attention to me."
Yu Xia exasperatedly nudged him with her knee: "Even when I’m not paying much attention to you, you go mad every now and then. Are you afraid the netizens won’t notice something’s off with us?"
Xie Qingci was silent.
After a moment, he hesitantly asked in a low voice, "Did I do something wrong?"
Maybe he shouldn’t have stepped into her circle through a talent show.
Perhaps he should have, like her, directly pursued an acting career, slowly building his reputation through two films. Or maybe he should have signed with a company and appeared on some medium-sized shows first.
But certainly not like this, with days of openly holding and kissing still far off.
He asked so cautiously that Yu Xia couldn’t even blame him, feeling a twinge in her heart instead.
She deliberated for a moment and turned to comfort him: "Don’t be like that, you didn’t do anything wrong."
Xie Qingci: "Then can I kiss you one more time?"
"...If you’re crazy, then hurry up and get out!"
Yu Xia repeatedly checked her makeup, outfit, and hairstyle in the mirror, then nonchalantly rejoined the group, catching up with the filming crew.
This time, she didn’t go back to that pavilion but walked through the square to another area.
Upon entering, she ran into a broadly smiling Yu Kuang.
She squinted slightly: "Smiling so happily, did you find a treasure?"
Yu Kuang patted the book tied to his belt and said, "Something like that. So, want to give it a try?"
"You’re just starting to challenge now? It’s late; everyone else’s scores are higher than yours."
Yu Kuang seemed eager: "It’s okay, maybe I’ll be the dark horse. Wanna try?"
"Alright, alright," she clapped her hands and took a step back, "show your move..."
Before she finished speaking, a familiar electronic voice echoed around the area.
"Song Xi successfully purchased the ’Start Over’ card, deducting three points!"
"The item card takes effect; all guest scores are reset to zero and start over!"
Yu Xia and Yu Kuang stared wide-eyed at each other, still processing what happened, while the accompanying staff member had already extended a hand to Yu Kuang.
"Teacher Yu Kuang, please hand over your second secret manual, everything’s reset."
Yu Kuang: "..."
Yu Xia: "..."
"Song! Xi!!!"
