Shocking! My Rugged Husband is the Hidden Tycoon in the 70s Novel-Chapter 407: Aya Is My Closest Person
As it approached ten o’clock, a loud cry came from the delivery room, prompting Jiang Xingye to stand up. He held on to the door frame, his gaze seemingly able to pierce through the door panel to see his beloved who had endured such an ordeal inside.
After quite a while, no one came out, and Jiang Xingye became anxious. He wanted to knock on the door but didn’t dare.
From inside, they heard, "Why is there another one?"
"Yes, there’s another one, twins, haven’t you seen the belly so big."
About ten minutes later, another cry rang out, louder than before, but Jiang Xingye remained oblivious as he tightly gripped the door frame.
The nurse came out to announce the good news but hadn’t had time to speak before Jiang Xingye rushed towards the door.
"Hey, what are you doing? Family members can’t go in," the nurse stopped him. She was a woman, so Jiang Xingye avoided physical contact. Seeing her extend her hand, he quickly stepped back.
Zhou Guizhi came over and pulled the unreliable nephew aside, "Is the mother safe?"
"Both mother and child are very well, very smooth delivery, you got a pair of boy-girl twins, congratulations!"
Boy-girl twins are rare; the nurse was also amazed. Interestingly, the babies were well-developed, plumper than average newborns, with limbs like lotus roots, and quite strong. Just now, while wrapping the babies, the little girl even pulled on her hair, causing her pain.
Jiang Xingye asked, "Where is my wife?"
"She is inside, she will be out soon." The nurse shut the door with a clang.
Inside, she said to Song Yanqing, "The father is not asking about the baby but the mother, it’s my first time seeing this."
Song Yanqing had seen the deep love between Xu Qinghuan and Jiang Xingye, "When you look for a man in the future, look for this type, who cares and keeps his wife in his heart, don’t be like me, blind."
The young nurse did not respond.
Xu Qinghuan was in good spirits, her thoughts entirely on the children, looking at the two reddish, closed-eyed babies, she recalled how Jiang Xingye once disliked their third treasure and she quite looked forward to his reaction upon seeing the babies.
As mother and children were pushed out, Jiang Xingye with reddened eyes rushed towards Xu Qinghuan without sparing a glance at the children.
"I’m quite alright!" Xu Qinghuan’s hand was held tightly by him. She withdrew one hand to wipe away Jiang Xingye’s falling tears, "It’s okay, I’m really fine, go see the children."
But he didn’t, instead he held Xu Qinghuan’s hand in return, choking up, "No more children in the future."
"Alright, no more." Xu Qinghuan saw his fatigue, more tired than herself who had just left the delivery room, and felt distressed.
After settling Xu Qinghuan in the ward, Jiang Xingye finally took a look at the children. Though both children looked the same, he felt the daughter was prettier.
"Like Huanhuan!" He was filled with affection, holding his daughter, gently brushing her small cheek with his fingertip.
Xu Qinghuan said, "I wasn’t this ugly."
Jian Jingchuan wiped sweat off his daughter with a handkerchief, "Yeah, you weren’t this ugly at birth, more or less looked like these two children."
"No, not at all!" She felt a bit weary.
Zhou Guizhi said, "Get some sleep, sleep quickly."
Xu Qinghuan closed her eyes, but shortly after falling asleep, she was startled awake by a commotion, and the two children followed by opening their mouths to cry, with closed eyes, their voices carrying a hint of irritation and grievance.
"How many have you given birth to? Ah, you give our Luo Family so many loss makers and still want to eat, wishful thinking!" A sharp-tongued old woman pointed in Xu Qinghuan’s direction, "Look at others, gave birth to two at once, son and daughter both, can’t you learn a bit?"
Jian Jingchuan frowned and was about to say something when Jiang Xingye came over directly, picked up the old woman, and threw her out the door, "Get out and make noise elsewhere, you’re disturbing my wife."
The old woman sat heavily on the ground, "Oh dear, help, someone is trying to hit me, I’ve been injured, you owe me money."
Jiang Xingye saw her making a fuss and smirked, "Alright, how much do you want?"
"Compensate me two hundred, if you don’t give me two hundred, I’ll report to the police station."
"Alright, two hundred it is, let me hit you first!" Jiang Xingye raised a chair and smashed it down towards her.
The old woman was so frightened she nearly lost her soul and urgently rolled to the side, the chair shattered to pieces on the ground. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
Jian Jingchuan saw Jiang Xingye handling the situation well and didn’t interfere, even feeling a bit regretful. If Jiang Xingye could join the army, he would be an extraordinary soldier, always carrying an intense fighting spirit.
The old woman, having narrowly escaped, looked at the broken chair, thinking if she hadn’t fled quickly, she’d be in the same pitiful state.
Seeing Jiang Xingye dared to smash it down, she realized she’d met a tough character and left crawling, never to return.
This ward had three beds in total, the one by the door was occupied by a mother who gave birth the day before to a son, her mother-in-law was quite smug, but now that attitude was dispelled, speaking quietly out of fear of disturbing Xu Qinghuan.
Jiang Xingye brought a chair over and sat by the bedside, staring at Xu Qinghuan like a statue.
The two children, after being fed some water, specifically spirit water, went back to sleep, not crying or fussing.
Zhou Guizhi and Jian Jingchuan discussed letting him and Jiang Xinglan go home first, "I told his uncle before coming over, to kill the rooster kept at home, stew the soup tonight, and you and Xinglan bring it over tomorrow morning."
Jian Jingchuan had a car, the road was easy to drive, convenient to go back and forth, "I’ll take you and his older sister back first, then I’ll come back later. Tonight there shouldn’t be much going on, you should go home and rest a bit."
"No, that’s not right, two children, Jiang Xingye has never taken care of children, how could you two old men handle it, better I stay here, you two won’t know how to change diapers or mix milk powder."
That was indeed the truth.
Jian Jingchuan glanced at his daughter and two grandchildren a few times and left.
Xu Qinghuan woke up in the middle of the night, facing Jiang Xingye’s bright eyes under the waxing moon, called softly, "Ah Ye!"
Jiang Xingye rushed forward and hugged her in his arms, "Huanhuan!"
The moonlight dissolved, Jiang Xingye choked up, his arms around her trembled.
At this moment, everything was silent, the other people in the ward were asleep.
This was a rare moment of solitude for the couple.
Xu Qinghuan caressed his face, "Ah Ye, are you delighted?"
Jiang Xingye hesitated for a moment then nodded.
"What’s the matter?"
"You have suffered a lot!"
He had once wanted children, longing for a deeper bond with Xu Qinghuan, but after she became pregnant, he realized how trying pregnancy and childbirth are. He had regretted it multiple times.
For his shallowness, ignorance, and selfishness.
"But I’m very happy." Xu Qinghuan was genuinely happy, the moment the child was born, her tears poured down. She didn’t know why, just felt touched, moved that the child chose her as a mother, moved by the heavens gifting her two children bound by blood.
Also grateful Jiang Xingye was willing to undertake the responsibility of raising the children together.
"Ah Ye, from now on, I’ve gained two more family members." Xu Qinghuan said laughingly.
She had a father, now she had children and a beloved, everything was wonderful!
"I am your closest person, accompanying you to old age, they will all leave when they grow up." Jiang Xingye stubbornly said, like a child sulking.
Xu Qinghuan couldn’t help but laugh, willing to placate him, "Yes, Ah Ye is my dearest person!"
She cupped Jiang Xingye’s face, pulling him down to her, they kissed.
Separated by a curtain, He Chunyan was not asleep. After her delivery, her in-laws did not send food. Zhou Guizhi was afraid her child would disturb theirs, fed the child some milk before sleep.
But she had no food, her hunger was burning, hearing the man’s words, she couldn’t help but shed tears.
